Cheltenham’s newest MICHELIN Star - Lumiere is an elegant, ingredient-led, innovative, fine dining experience in the heart of Cheltenham. Lead by husband and wife team, Somerset born Chef Jon and general manager Helen, the restaurant has a focus on the best British produce sourced from a network of dedicated farmers, fishermen, producers & our own family run farm.
Since opening in January 2009, Lumiere has received numerous local and national awards including a MICHELIN Star, AA Restaurant of the Year for England, 3AA Rosettes and is regularly listed amongst the Top 20 Restaurants in the UK by Hardens and Tripadvisor. Jon was also shortlisted for Restauranteur of the Year by The Caterer for all of his efforts during the pandemic.

                        Wow, what an experience! We went to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and it was perfection throughout. Food, service, ambiance- cannot be faulted. Fully deserves its Star.

                        Couldn’t fault it! We had a fantastic evening with friends at Lumiere. The staff were extremely attentive and easy to get along with, taking our coats on arrival. On our table we had tablets that we used to view the menu, with descriptions of each dish and wine pairing which was handy as the evening went on or if we forgot what the staff said when they served us each course. The food was exceptional and the wine pairing was also very good. Staff had great knowledge of what was being served, where it was from (lots of it from the kitchen garden), as well as the wine that was paired with it. One of the things I was particularly impressed with was the diligence of staff when it came to dietary requirements. I was 35 weeks pregnant at the time of our meal so there were things I wasn’t allowed to eat. When booking, there was an option under dietary requirements to choose ‘pregnant’ which I’d not seen before and I was able to add additional information to inform the restaurant of foods I couldn’t eat. During the meal, most of the time little tweaks had been made to dishes so that they were safe for me. Only one course was completely different from other guests. I felt very reassured and very appreciative of their efforts. The restaurant itself is quite small with fewer than 10 tables in total, meaning it was very intimate and a relaxed atmosphere. Service was timely and we weren’t rushed at all, even after our meal had finished. Overall, a very special experience that I would highly recommend.

                        Outstanding. Four of us dined on a Saturday lunch session to celebrate a 40th birthday. We ordered the 6 course menu and were treated to a feast of wonderful flavours and tastes for the senses. The canapes were delicate but burst with flavour on the tongue. The following dishes were wonderful and show cased the ingredients to perfection. Indulge in the crafted petit fours if you can, the presentation is magical. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service attentive but discreet. Will look forward to a return visit.

                        Our first lunch visit to this excellent restaurant. The food was exceptional. Service was attentive but not over bearing. Would definitely consider going again at lunch time.

                        As usual the food was wonderful, beautiful presentation, diverse selection of tastes and textures Service was excellent and thoughtful. Also very knowledgable, about ingredients and food sources. Good value and excellent food.
