A great restaurant with fabulous small plates of food
The starters we nice - the highlight was the deep fried spring onions which were delicious. The cod was also nice but could have been a bit larger. Good choice of wines and a nice buzz. Our only complaint was the table were very small — by the time the dishes wine cooler water etc was placed on then it was dangerously over filled
Amazing food and friendly atmosphere! Love this place so much! The menu is changing all the time and it is the best in terms of sharing and variety! Great wine list as well!
Awesome food and space. It was a very hot day though so the room got quite hot and sweaty. Tiny point though... will recommend to friends and family for sure
This is one of the best restaurants in London. the food is delicious with un usual flavours
A real gem of a place. The tapas-size dishes are imaginative and top quality, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I shall be finding excuses to go back.
Took my food fanatic mother in law, who sat at the bar looking at the tiny the kitchen and was enthralled for two hours watching the speed of detailed care in the preparation and loving the range of tastes in the brilliant small dishes. ML super happy, and great eating to boot.
This was the second time I had been to Lupins and I was so excited to show my friends who were all impressed. The food and wine were gorgeous and the atmosphere was lovely. It's also very affordable!
Simply delicious, innovative food that shows love for ingredients and delivers pleasure.
Second visit- just as good as the last one. Pigeon dish was excellent- thank you 😊.
Tasty, well balanced food, good dish presentation. Just off iron square so you can have a conversation.
As ever quite delicious food - all very creative and tasty. Great price point and interesting wines.
Amazing meal. Creative and delicious food. Friendly and very efficient staff/service. Will be coming back.
Excellent food and great, friendly service. Really accommodating of gluten-free requirement.
I love this place! Delicious, fresh, incredibly tasty sharing plates in tiny restaurant in trendy Southwark.
Simple, clean, fun with lovely caring staff. A must for anyone who loves seriously good food.
Charming local eaterie with small plates and charming staff. Well-priced wines. Exquisite food. A true original.
Really excellent food and a delicious lunch. The chefs working in the kitchen (behind the bar) were more than happy to discuss the menu, where ingredients were sourced and options for gluten and dairy free. The food we enjoyed had some really great original (or at least less often seen) flavour combinations which were all delicious. The waitress who served us was really helpful regarding our wine choices and the whole atmosphere was friendly & relaxed. A fantastic place to share a late Friday lunch - we'll be going again, soon I hope!
Food not as good as the previous time, but there were some interesting flavours. Very good value for money. Wine list is due for a thorough review and change.
Amazing food and wine.
Lupins is a joy - lovely set up, superb food and great service.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent.
Hard to fault the place .
Excellent food and lovely staff
Very relaxed atmosphere. Quite noisy at times - there are no soft materials to absorb noise and there was a large shrill group at one table. Loved the small dishes to share - crab Thermidor and lamb koftas in particular. Interesting wine list.
Tasty modern British sharing plate options. Deceptively simple dishes you feel like you could make at home, but you know the reality is that you won't come close to replicating!
Crab thermidor was stand out, but all the dishes used great quality, seasonal ingredients to give classic but modern European cuisine.
The waiting staff were excellent.
Enjoyed visiting Lupins with my mum last weekend. The upstairs space is a great place to sit and our servers were really lovely, efficient people. Good wine, and a good small plates menu BUT the kitchen sent out each dish one at a time. The pace of our meal was far too slow and there were notable gaps between plates - which I really wished could have come out at least two at a time. I didn't love sharing 6 shoots of asparagus and then a small fillet of sea bass one at a time. I think almost every dish had seen some form of batter or frying too, which made the whole dinner rather greasy and spoilt what could have been some fresh, well balanced plates otherwise.
The desert ganache, however was a triumph. I'll probably return just for that. Incredibly rich, thick chocolate ganache with a slightly over-salted caramel that won me over wholeheartedly.
I'd be kinder to lupins but with Eliot's nearby, I think I would probably choose to return there unless pace is improved and plates are better balanced.
Great food, very good service. Would recommend it and would happily go back.
Everything that arrived at our table was a delight - from the cheerful waiter who greeted us to the final expresso. There was a wow factor to very dish. We were still talking about this place 24hrs later. Can’t wait to go back
Wonderfulf food and friendly service. Lovely atmosphere and great value
Totally scrumptious food. Good wine. Delightful staff.
Delicious and creative food, with the small plates perfect for sharing. We had a lovely time there, and the staff were friendly, knowledge and approachable. Nice laid back atmosphere. Highly recommended.
I’m always a little skeptical of British Tapas. It conjures images of smaller versions of roast beef, Yorkshire puds and toad in the hole. Lupin’s has converted me, 100%. The menu was small, a one pager. Every option we had was excellent and had a slight twist on the usual dish. This is what makes it excel; Oxtail arancini, grilled oysters with Sriracha, for example. All flavours were clean, simple and you could truly taste the meat/fish/vegetable you were eating. The staff were very attentive and friendly and I couldn’t fault the service. This next point is not a criticism but more advice. The restaurant itself is dinky, perfectly fine for groups of 2-4. Larger groups would struggle and it might become noisy. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely go back.
Great food & a creative wine list. Excellent value & good vibe, unfussy, re,axed.
An inspired menu featuring fresh seasonal ingredients. The service is just as easy going and friendly. The use of local seasonal ingredients is obvious while the flavours are inspired by the chefs' personal experiences, travels and tastes. A small independent business that must be supported!
A great place to catch up with friends - delicious food and really brilliant service.
great food, atmosphere and drinks. All round, fantastic
A small menu of high quality Tapas food, good wine, very pleasantly served and good value
Great service, setting and the food was incredible.
Overpriced for what you get. Food was quite salty and arrived either immediately or am hour later. Bill came to over £150 for 4 people and none of us felt full!
Food was delicious however sharing plates in the main too small to share between two. Waitress from Italy was a delight. Explained everything wonderfully.
Dining area a little sparse, not a great buzz when we lunched.
Word eat there again and take friends.
Cornish crab yhermidor and linguine were the stars.
Second time I've eaten here & it's already one of my favourite restaurants.
It's a small plate restaurant & even though they hadn't received their fish delivery, the selection was still very good. I loved the balance of the dishes & the attention to detail within each dish is amazing. Stand outs were the bread & butter, burata & the pigeon Wellington was sublime.
The staff are knowledgable, attentive & helpful. Thank you for a wonderful night.
