Welcomed on arrival but found it difficult to understand the greeter. He was, however, very pleasant. Appreciate coats being taken, hung up, and correctly returned. Menu very comprehensive. Food well cooked, attractively plated and delicious. The decor very pleasing.

Our waitress was excellent, friendly and attentive, the food was very good, we could have done with a plate with the prawn cocktail, as getting it out if the glass without spillage was difficult. When people come in and out you get a blast of cold air where we were sat, not sure what can be done about that.

Met a couple of friends for lunch. Had the set menu. Food and service were both very good. What I also like is that it's not too noisy - too many places have hard walls and surfaces which the noise bounces off whereas in Lussmann's we could easily talk to each other without either having to shout or strain to be heard. Have been before and it's good every time.

Good ambience, prompt service, really tasty food. An upmarket experience that was a treat and actually worth the money. You can get an even better deal if you go before 6.30pm and take the set menu where you can get two courses each. I would definitely do that next time - great for dinner soon after work with friends. So many places these days serve mediocre food for a high price (where you leave feeling you might as well have made your own food at home). This place did not do that - it was upmarket in terms of setting and the food tasted like a great chef had made something special. That is exactly what I want when I experience the rare treat of going out to eat these days.

Such a lovely experience for my partner and I. The set meal option was good value for money and did not feel 'budget' in any way. The food was exceptionally tasty, fresh and the pace of the service was on point. We will definitely return for another meal.

Lussmanns is my favourite restaurant in St Albans and has been for years! I am never disappointed. The staff are all polite, friendly, professional, helpful and knowledgeable. The food is delicious with some favourites but also new ideas. I’ll be back again soon.

Every course of our set lunch was tasty, and neither over nor under-seasoned. The waitress and manager were friendly but not overbearing. I am a fairly regular customer a the St Albans branch, and have only one little niggle, which is that the restaurant floor is rather slippery when wet on a rainy day, otherwise a great place.

A special place to come for a birthday lunch. The food was so tasty and great value for money with very generous portions. Great choice of dishes from the set menu. The staff were really attentive without being too intrusive. We were given a lovely table overlooking the Vintry Garden.

Lovely meal for 4. We booked early as we like to avoid noisy eating environments. There are noise reduction tiles on the ceiling, which we really appreciate these days. This worked fairly well but a noisy party did arrive towards the end of the meal. Food was great, as usual & we appreciate the sustainability thread. Service was very good initially, but when it became busier it was hard to catch the eye of the waiting staff to get coffee & pay the bill. Not a major issue, though. Overall, a great restaurant!
