A spur of the moment after the rugby which made the restaurant busy. We were sat immediately but the friendly staff. Menu was good and we chose the tuna sashimi for starters. Steak followed which, as the starters, was very good. The sides could have been better and the ice cream was lacking in comparison to the starters and steak. Service was excellent. Will go back
Had dinner with a friend. The steak was up with the best I have had and the wine went beautifully with it.
Service was excellent, although it was not a busy night. Overall a great evening!
The service was exceptional, and the food was great too, on a very busy Sunday (England were playing at Twickenham). The staff managed the bar and the transition to the restaurant brilliantly and when seated the table service was efficient and attentive.
Great food, well cooked steak and the service was spot on considering it was a game day. One annoying point is that the fries should be included with the steak!
Bar was very busy but staff were quick to bring us to the table we reserved.
Food was delicious but could have been a little hotter.
Beer selection was poor.
Overall, a good meal but I wouldn’t be returning soon.
Really nice food, great friendly service. Will be going back.
Stunning. A very big thank you to the M Team for looking after us during our visit. My family and I had such an amazing time, the food was incredible, atmosphere was outstanding and the staff are impeccable! We will definitely see you soon!
My husband and I have been wanting to visit the M Bar for quite some time now. We cam a few weeks ago and had a lovely time! We both had steaks, I had the fillet and my partner had the Wet Aged Argentinian Rib Eye - OUT OF THIS WORLD! The wine list is great, a large range of affordable wines & more expensive wines that we would order on a special occasion. Thanks M, we will be back for more very soon!
My friends & I go to the HSBC 7s every year and without fail always get in to an argument on where to eat and drink before heading to the stadium. There will be no more arguments, we will be going straight to the M Bar. Such a fantastic place, amazing food and very helpful staff - thanks very much M! We will be back.
An absolute pleasure dinning at M Bar as always. We often come and have either pre-match lunch or a bite to eat post match after a Quins game. Needless to say, every time we are remembered and treated so well by all staff, thank you so much to all. We love your food and you create an unbeatable atmosphere in Twickenham - see you soon!
I was recommended to visit M Bar & Grill by a local friend that lives in Twickenham. Lovely restaurant, beautiful decor and delicious food. The staff were very professional and gave some very helpful recommendations. We will be recommending you to all of our friends and family and will be back to try your Sunday Roast - thanks.
Excellent service, however in an uncrowded restaurant on a Saturday night the noise level was such that it was quite hard to hear our waitress.
Food was excellent with steaks cooked how they were asked and good flavour.
Given it was a match day the service was okay. Quite long wait for food but nice once it arrived and the staff really made an effort to still give you premium service when the restaurant and bar were both totally full.
Really lovely addition to the Twickenham Resturant choices. We went on a Friday evening and there were a few rowdy parties around us, hence the noise rating. But would definitively go back and they coped very well with the food allergies we had around the table.
We went on mother’s day lunch I ordered the wagu beef it came well over cooked and for the breading of the cattle it was very disappointing, and for the price for two small strips of beef not cooked correctly well over priced, free pouring of wine not sure this is a legal process when the amount poured in the the glass was very small and at £12.50 a glass again way over priced, and to top it all there was an employee walking round the restaurant with a dog on a lead?, overall I will not return either with friends or family .
Such a shame. Obviously loads has been spent here to make a fantastic looking restaurant just what Twickenham needed. A shame the food and service don't live up to it and judging but the fact it was less than half full on a Friday evening it looks like others have the same view. Small menu (I like that) but if small then it should be really good - here it is distinctly average. Steaks top the bill but are expensive as come with nothing. Service is slow and unattentive.
Advice to restaurant - you have a great asset and if you only want to be busty on rugby days then fine but if you want to interest residents you need to review your menu, look at your prices and train your staff.
Visited after a rugby match. It was very busy but our table was ready. Great service other than had a slice of orange in my gin and tonic. When it should be lime! But it was exchanged.
Excellent food, fillet steak with great sides including mac and cheese.
Would go again and recommend it.
Food is lovely, good quality and choice. It's fairly pricey but if you're local you can get discount with the Richmond card which is great. Service needs work - friendly but slow at bringing drinks (when they remember them), not that attentive but a bit overly gushing on arrival/exit.
Service and food were fantastic. Will definitely go again.
Great meal whilst waiting for the rugby crowds to clear. Waitress was exceptionally attentive especially with my sons girlfriends food intolerance. Would definitely recommend.
We ate as family of 4 pre-rugby match and as birthday treat for my husband. Whole experience was fantastic, great food and service. Great bustling atmosphere (most guests were rugby fans too) and we were seated near the pass so could see the dishes being prepared which the kids loved. Would definitely return!
Nice place, great food. Although they no longer serve wagyu beef, Lobster or tomahawk steak so they should remove it from their website as it’s misleading and we were therefore very disappointed when we arrived. Great meal thereafter though.
Great experience, super location!
Our second visit as we were impressed withy the good quality food and reasonably priced wine list. Friendly, unobtrusive service, if a trifle slow, and very convenient for the Exchange theatre.
Loved this restaurant was absolutely lovely! The staff were wonderful which makes it even better. Food is so delicious the steaks are out of this world. The truffle and mac cheese was also amazing!
Good quality food and a reasonably priced wine list. Friendly, unobtrusive service and very convenient for the Exchange theatre.
Lovely staff very good service
Cocktails were great but food was very poor.
Probably won’t eat here again as this is the second time I’ve found it u appealing and very over priced food wise
The food was very good and also well presented. The service was excellent. Only thing to be aware of compared to the price bracket on OpenTable is that for a 3 course meal with a not very expensive wine you are looking at £50+ per person (of course depending on what you chose!). So perhaps not the strongest value for money!
We had a party of 10 and the guests were all thrilled with their food.
The 2 areas for consideration were:
1. The table set up is one long table so in a group of 10 some folk never got to speak to each other all evening. We would prefer a round table set up.
2. My order was completely wrong. I asked for the Steak pie and received fish with no chips. There was no time for them to prepare me a pie so they cooked a quick steak but it spoilt my meal a little bit (and I was paying the bill!). They took my main course off of the bill which I was happy with but the mix up should not have happened in the first place.
That aside we will be back because the overall experience was very good.
First time at M in Twickenham. The overall experience was OK but it has the potential to be great. Atmosphere nice helped by a full bar and outside seating occupied by the rugby fans. All on best behaviour. Service was the headline. Subtle, impeccable, attentive and knowledgeable. The menu is small, too small. On the night (7.30pm) they had run out of one main one starter which is about 20% of the menu! Really not good enough. After this they told us they had one bottle of rose left. We had just had one so that’s just two bottles of rose in the house.. we had switch to a white. Food quality and presentation was spot on. Our bill for four us on three courses and three bottles of (entry level) wine was just shy of £400. Not great value for money. With such a small menu and a top dollar price tags not likely we will head back which is shame.
Lovely place, great service! Would highly recommend the Scotch egg and side of Macaroni cheese. Steak was also lovely. Chips were not very nice and the Gravy was too thin. Would definitely return.
I wanted to like this place and it all seemed fine on paper. Drink and wine list is good. Nice space well decorated but they need about 50% fewer lights.
We started with the scotch egg which was ok- I asked about the preparation when asked if we enjoyed it and commented that I’ve had them many places and this was a unique style. The waitress actually pushed back and told me if it was prepared the way I described, it wouldn’t work. Hmmm...
The mains were ok even if fairly basic- the filet medallions and pork shoulder. The salads- radicchio and barley was actually two radicchio cups filled with barley. It was a barely salad with 2 tiny orange segments. Again when asked I said that is not as described on the menu, for a barley salad it would be ok but totally overwhelming, for a radicchio salad with barley as described, it was a miss. She replied by saying hey so things differently. Lastly, my husband’s Caesar salad was made with and served in an iceberg shell. Overall, just odd. Not bad, just odd.
The staff were excellent and though we do not eat beef the alternatives were very good and packed with flavour.
The set menu was excellent value and had a good sample of the food available on the a la carte menu.
First visit to M. It won’t be the last. Excellent food, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Really great evening out.
What a stunning restaurant! Everything was perfect and really made me and my friends feel welcomed. Bar staff were fantastic, our waitress was wonderful and food was outstanding! Would highly recommend the mushroom starter, my absolute favourite.
Will be coming back with my husband for date night 100%!
Had a family lunch on a Saturday and we were the only 4 people in the restaurant so there wasn’t much of an atmosphere although there was a decent bit of background music so not completely dead. Food was very good though and there was a great deal on where kids ate for free so I’m surprised it was so empty. I had an excellent brisket roll from the BBQ grill menu with a side of apple slaw (very purple but tasty!). Service was very friendly although could have been a bit more attentive given there was no one else to serve.
Booked last minute and they were very accommodating. Started with some drinks in the bar, and they really know how to make a cocktail! Food was amazing, great selection of starters. Will definitely be coming back with my girlfriends for happy hour on a Friday!
Love this place! Great cocktails, great menu. We came in on the first day of the new menu launch, staff seemed excited about it. Lots of dishes to choose from but all seem very well put together. Really nice atmosphere, great staff.
Steak was absolutely incredible. We had the rib-eye and I couldn't have been happier. The service was lovely, great banter with the bartender who seemed very enthusiastic. Really looking forward to coming back to try the Sunday Roast!
Established lovely concept for a Bar and Grill with the aim to replicate the success of the M Restaurant in Victoria Street, however this west London location is probably not ideal for such a nice place. Overall, I like it ,however would not consider for cheap casual dining.
The front side of the restaurant is slightly hidden, and it could be easily missed while passing by, it's very close to Twickenham railway station and this is a plus for people using public transports. There is no reserved parking for the restaurant, hence the need to park in the little roads nearby.
The interior deco and attention to details makes this place a nice spot for drinks or dinner as well as lunch over the week end.
Wide selection of great wines from old and new world.
We visited for lunch on a relatively quiet week end.
The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. We had our lunch outside. The view is not superb, however cannot complain as the noise from the main road was not so bad at that time of the day.
The menu proposal has several options if you really like meat, not suggested for vegan and vegetarians.
The waiting time for our food was acceptable and they made us very comfortable while waiting.
We loved the high quality of food/meat, though for some people can be considered overpriced based on the average in the area.
The food presentation could be definitely improved. Few chef's little touches can make their dishes outstanding. Same for the side dishes.
Recommended and we will definitely go back.
