Macellaio RC Union Street
Alongside with our already known Fassona beef, we have added the Bakery. We do PISSA not Pizza, which was invented before it following old Liguria traditions. Actually, pizza was first cooked in Italy for Andrea Doria, an important Admiral of Genoa’s Republic, before the discovery of America.
At the beginning pissa was only seasoned with anchovies, olives and onion and matured for an average of 60 to 90, using strong flour that helps the dough to rise slowly at fridge temperature with a small quantity of natural yeast. This results in a tastier pissa.
Moreover, we do Focaccia di Recco: a very thin layer of dough made just with flour, Liguria olive oil and with Stracchino cheese in the middle.

The place to go for steak. Always good for a great experience. Not cheap but great quality. Vegetarians need not apply. Quality steak in a great surrounding. Recommended.

Great Great Great! The Fassone-Meat from Piemonte is in-house-Dry-Aged and its nothing than beautiful!!! Is there a better meat-Place in London??? I dont think so...
We sat on 2nd floor this evening where our waitstaff was very excellent. The food and dessert were awesome. The next time we return from Texas it will be a must - probably more times than just once.
The steak was the best we have ever had, could cut it with a butter knife. Our sides where outstanding as well

Really mixed experience. Great location, cool interior, just the right level of busy and excellent service. Everything was set up for a fantastic meal! However, the steak just isn't quite good enough to justify the price in my opinion, and the chef covered it with a massive (!) dose of chunky rock salt. My guest eventually gave up on eating it, and I spent most of my time trying to pick the chunks of salt off the steak or out from between my teeth...
A real shame as they have half the experience absolutely nailed!

One of my favourite Italian restaurant in London.
I am Italian and I have been living in London for 6 years and I usually avoid going out for Italian food. However when I need to treat mtself this is the place. The quality of the food is amazing and the service is the best.

Amazing quality steak, both sirloin and ribeye. Attentive and knowledgeable service. Decor and atmosphere of the restaurant are also excellent.
Food was ok. Nice but very small portions. Should be made clearer that they are tapas size plates and priced accordingly. For the price of each dish you would expect a main meal. Also felt the waitress was really trying to push us to order the most expensive steaks. We were also the only people in there on a Thursday lunchtime.
I went to Macellaio RC with my manager for a dinner. I expected to have nice food... we ordered 2 rump steaks and 2 sides. The portion of the steaks were ridiculously small (the menu did not specify the weight of them). As soon as I tasted mine, I realised it was COLD. They took it away, not sure if they just reheated it. The steak was nothing special, the bill was ridiculously expensive. The service was "ok", apart from a small incident with a steak knife.
I will not come back as I think it's a rip off.

Food was tasty (and reasonably priced for steak), staff were friendly, wine was probably a little over-priced (balances out the food!) but good that you could get a glass, carafe or bottle.
Nice that the doors open and you get fresh air, but the night had got a bit chilly, and spent half the evening sitting in my coat... I think the staff realised and did at least close the door, but was difficult to close the windows because of table configuration... Probably need a slightly better process for this.
Would go back, but take layers!

Very bad service. It was my birthday and the staff asked about it only after the bill was paid. The receptionist welcomed us asking about the water and then disappeared .. So, we asked twice to have still water. The bottle of wine arrived after the starter,and the Digestive before the coffee ( which arrived obviously after a chase since we were waiting a bit too much). The food was very good and the staff, even if completely disorganised, was apparently kind. Price in the average of an Italian restaurant in London with good food quality but not in line with the service charge you should pay.
Gli antipasti erano molto buoni ma porzioni troppo piccole, ero abiatuato a più abbondanza in passato.
Starters were much better than mains . Overall not bad . But if you want meat for more than 50 gbp per person you re still better off at Goodman’s / Hawksmoor or M restaurant . My fillet was cold when served , and definitely not worth the money . Stick to starters / tartare and pasta .
Once again, the food, wine and service at Macellaio was excellent.
Highly recommended for a decent hanger steak, could have done with larger sides...

Had a superb evening. Possibly the best steak in London (had the T bone) and great wine list all reasonably priced. Service was excellent.
Very well prepared but the portion sizes of the /100g steaks are too large for just 2 really, which feels wasteful.
Food is tasty but not a good value for money as portions are very small.
Visited the restaurant with a couple of friends and we were greeted very warmly. We shared a 1.2kg T-bone steak and it was wonderfully cooked to perfection. The range of beef on offer is excellent and the dry aging is superb.
The services was not intrusive - it was just right. I’m very glad to have visited this restaurant as it was a very welcome surprise. I will definitely be returning.
Only problem was it was too hot upstairs.
The best meat in London always with best service and atmosphere.

Went early evening prior to cinema. Service very attentive. Steak quality was average for the price.
