The Parlour Tea Room at Mad Dogs and Englishmen provides a vintage setting to enjoy Afternoon tea. We’ve become renowned for our themed teas which offer an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the eclectic surroundings of this unique venue.
The Botanical Rooms is upstairs and hosts our cocktail bar. Here you can experience Afternoon Tea from Wednesday to Sunday during the day and enjoy the fairy-lit bar on Friday and Saturday evenings. We host live Jazz and soul on some evenings.
The Piano Lounge with it's vintage leather sofas and a mixture of eclectic styled furnishings is situated on the ground floor alongside our Whisky Bar. You can enjoy an Afternoon Tea with Piano accompaniment on Sunday afternoons or sample some of our extensive Whisky cocktails on Friday and Saturday evenings. We have live Jazz performances on selected evenings.

    A wonderful experience for 6 of us...even catered for a vegan and gluten free in our group...a fairy tale afternoon tea. Our waitress was very attentive and a perfect princess.

    Very nice tea room, first visit. Pleasant waitress and food very good. Only disappointment was that our table for 2 was round a corner and cut off from the main area. We felt cut off from the atmosphere and being able to see the lovely decorated room. Apparently someone was dressed up as Cinderella which we couldn’t see from our corner cove. Would certainly go back but not in the alcove. Thank you

    Fantastic setting with a cheese board that was fantastic. Cocktails were a plenty. An overall lovely evening with fab service. Only down side was that it closed slightly earlier. I was sent an email to say it was closing earlier that night but I didn’t notice it, so that was my fault. Will definitely be coming back again

    The staff where great. Only criticism is there was no option for more sandwiches and scone was a bit small. Cakes where lovely but too sweet as made with white chocolate. Bottomless tea perfect. When paying that price I am used to being asked if I would like more sandwiches.

    Loved the Glass Slipper experience! Had a family baby shower there. Catered for everyone, including the mothers-to-be. Food was delicious. A lot of effort went into it. Staff were lovely and friendly.

    The evening setting is described as being in the botanical room, however we were seated in the downstairs section which was nicely designed but did not look nearly as nice as the decor in the botnaical room. The charcuterie board was ok, the meats did look supermarket bought, but for £12 was probably worth it. The cocktails were overpriced at £12 each, not being of the quality I would expect for the price. The Old Fashoined cocktail was amazing though. I didn't think the ticket price of £10 was warranted either, the jazz band was mediocre at best. All in all a nice experience but not amazing.

    It was very pretty, staff were lovely. I felt it was over priced. Desserts were tasty but far too many and sickly. Very small savoury selection so not really a lunch option. I was really disappointed, I’ve had better for far less. I’d recommend if you’re purely going for the sweet selection and insta pics.

    Great food amount and selection. Very fresh. Lovely cinderella background music. Lots of props dotted around to add to atmosphere and fabulous carriage for extra detail which we booked at an additional charge for an extra touch to our afternoon tea

    As first time visitors my mum and I were really impressed with the food, flavours were amazing. We’ve had a good few afternoon teas and this one was definitely top 3. I had the gluten-free version and it was so nice to have food that looked like a decent equivalent of the ‘normal’ afternoon tea, rather than looking longingly at my friends food!! Thanks for a lovely experience, we will definitely be back.

    A little gem in Leigh ! Like a London afternoon tea experience . All the food was lovely and the imagination behind the food is amazing . The waitresses were all very sweet and professional . Will be back and recommend to all my friends .

    Excellent themed afternoon tea! Every last detail is considered to immerse you into their world. The atmosphere is prefect and a real treat. We have visited many times for the different afternoon teas and will continue to do so. Good value for money.

    Always a magical experience at Mad Dogs. The theming never fails to disappoint and this Glass Slipper based on Cinderella was one of my favourites so far. The afternoon tea offerings are always a good mix of finger sandwiches, mini tarts, beautiful themed cakes and pastries and of course warm scones with plenty of jam and cream. We also enjoyed the abundant choice of teas and cocktails on offer. They also do the most amazing hot chocolates! Looking forward to trying out new themes and revisiting old ones too. Loved the carriage seating!!

    Had a nice time, usually go in the other top area, guess I was expecting more, maybe my fault? Service not as good, had to ask for Tea and then was too strong. Sandwiches bit dry and couple crispy again probably weather? Feel that we should choose to see how much service charge we pay depending on service?

    Seven friends went for afternoon tea at glass slipper experience the setting was perfect , didn’t no where to look everything done so beautiful ,! Lovely tea ,!loved our cocktails in the glass slipper only small negative we had to ask the waitress for more drinks etc they didn’t check on us ! Overall a beautiful afternoon out would go again without a doubt

    This was a surprise Mother of the Bride outing organised by my sister & 3 cousins. Every single thing was delightful, the staff were lovely, the decor was incredible. The food & drinks were divine, just such a huge pleasure. We also went up to the gorgeous Botanical lounge after our splendid tea, another area of such comfort & beauty. Thankyou so much for providing an exquisite back drop to a truly marvellous family get together. It was perfect x

    A wonderful place for a special treat. I was surprised price had risen to £38.50 when I had paid a deposit for £35 a head and thought this would be honoured but I know everything has gone up. Certainly had a lovely ambience and my family loved it.

    We had an amazing experience yesterday at the Glass Slipper event, it was my daughter first time there and it was everything she thought it would be magical. The staff very friendly and the food was amazing all in the theme can’t wait for the next one.
