Neat atmosphere and the Mad Hatter then was fun! Unfortunately we did not have great service, but the food and ambiance were worth the trip!

Ambiance, food, tea, etc. was lovely and exactly what was anticipated. The value for all of that seemed a bit much, to be honest. £110+ for two of us to have tea and pastries seemed quite a bit excessive. For a one time expenditure and outing it was absolutely fine, but if I were local I wouldn’t go back solely due to the prohibitive cost.

A great experience! From the presentation of the teas to the arrangement of the treats, every aspect of this Afternoon Tea was unique.

Early reservation was great for the solo patron and for first time tea. I felt obligated to eat everything on the tray but I'm glad I asked if I could take the remaining bites with me. Of all the items on the tray, only one was not fully consumed.

I am one of those people that takes photos of their dining experience but there was so much to take in, I had to resist the urge and just enjoy the moment.

The toast was probably the best toast I ever eaten. Tea was great! Service was super!

Disappointed in the chocolate cake.

This was a wonderful experience. We came here for my birthday, and we were not disappointed. We got to choose our own tea, which were named after characters in Alice in Wonderland. If you don’t like tea, you may also order other beverages. Then, we received a tray full of pastries, which were very delicious. I definitely recommend this tea party to others.

Despite the marketing, I would not recommend this for children under 10. I took my daughter for her 10th birthday and the food was not for a child’s palette so she ate very little of the savoury food. I would go again with my friends . The experience varies immensely depending on the table you get. Outside seating under the canopy looked amazing. We were indoors so it felt less special. I mentioned it was my daughters birthday they brought her a small cake and candle which was lovely.

We loved the venue. We had a couple of issues. Although, I noted on the opentable booking that we had three children in our party, the children’s menu was not offered to us and most of the savory options in the regular menu were not child appropriate. In addition the cocktail was delivered without an explanation of what it was. The children’s hot chocolates were cold. I was also surprised that there was only one scone provided per person. We were also not offered more tea or drinks. We would love to return if these issues could be resolved. The children really liked the scones.

Disappointing and Very expensive for what you get, have had far nicer afternoon teas in London for similar prices, savoury selection is very poor but cakes were better, ‘warm’ scones brought out at start of meal though so were cold by the time you are ready for them. Low flying pigeons as you are seated in a covered courtyard are off putting aswell!

The set up was adorable, the food and tea so cute. I was able to make reservations the day prior so that was nice. We loved the tea and treats, cocktails were delicious too. Tables where a bit close together and we had a table in the middle so we felt a bit in the way of service staff too. I recommend a table on the side or middle of atrium. Overall I recommend, left happy and full.

I’ve had afternoon tea in several London top spots and this by far was the most beautiful and delicious! Lots of places can make pretty settings and pretty food, but not all of it is a delight to eat and enjoy with those you love. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon with my teenage daughter who was entirely enchanted by the whole experience. If you know anything about teenagers- you know that is a hard trick to pull off.

Nice tea... Not best I've had in London but definitely thoughtful. Service was quite poor and weakest point... took 50 minutes after ordering to receive food, there were no tea or water refills, etc. Food was good and ambiance was good. Tea was above average and nicely presented as tea leaves, albeit didn't taste as good as it smelled.

Fantastic afternoon tea! We enjoyed looking at and smelling the different Alice in Wonderland tea leaves before making a decision - they were all delicious! The sandwiches and cakes were exquisite! A fabulous selection and as many as you could eat! Super surroundings! Staff were very attentive and helpful! Thank you!

The setting was lovely, I took my 7yr old granddaughter for a birthday treat. The sandwiches and cakes were just too rich for a child’s palette, I found the cakes very sickly and the sandwiches were soggy. My granddaughter didn’t really eat anything, we left most of the food, the bill was £95 including a 15% service charge. I feel that it was very expensive for a few sandwiches and cakes!!

Joined Mad Hatters Tea for afternoon tea. Service, food, and ambiance was all top notch. Would definitely recommend. It is a bit pricey. But for a splurge, it was worth every pence. The outdoor dining space was beautiful, quite (even full of people), and cool even on a warm day.

Too expensive and we were seated in part of the display garden that clearly wasn’t meant for seating. Since we were so removed, our server kept forgetting about us and so the service was poor meaning we definitely did not get our money’s worth of the unlimited tea and food. Overall, it was a waste of money since it was extremely expensive.

Straight away we were shown to our table by a lovely waitress, outside in a courtyard with lots of greenery. The lady explained everything to us and gave us ample time to chose our teas then came back and served us the afternoon tea very promptly. The actual food was amazing, and very filling. We were offered food refills and the staff were very attentive throughout. It was my mum’s birthday and the waitress brought over a cake for her - overall a very lovely experience.

Absolutely waste of time and money how do you charge £265 for sandwiches and cake in the freezing cold weather sat outside. It was supposed to be themed to the Mad Hatters Tea Party I’ve had better tea parties at an old folks home. Would never go back RIP OFF.

Not a great experience. Tea had no taste so had to send back. Service was not great, asked a member of staff a question regarding food due to allergy and she didn’t come back to me.
Hotel exterior is run down and awful not somewhere you would go for tea.
Not value for money at all, food wasn’t great nor was the service.

This was such a disappointing event! We had high hopes for an fun filled tea - sadly this missed the mark. So much could have been done but sadly it was not. It’s a tired 1960’s hotel trying to reinvent itself - and it’s lackluster at best - food was only - passable but the tea-though themed was weak and the coffee was not good

The experience was ok, the afternoon tea was cute. I felt the cocktails were too expensive, and didn’t taste too great. Also service wasn’t amazing, we had to wait awhile if we wanted to ask someone a question. Then they try and charge you 15% service charge, when they barely served you!

I came here on the assumption it was £40 pp had our afternoon tea choice of mini sandwiches really not nice also shell was left in crab sandwiches. The cake choice again not great left most of it then got charged £171 instead if £120 which really made our day out not a good one. I don’t mind paying if it’s enjoyable but a couple of tiny sandwiches and a mouthful of cake really wasn’t worth the money and I will be expecting £51 back. There was nothing decorated to say anything about mad hatters either I would rather of gone elsewhere where it’s themed.

A very expensive tea experience and it’s definitely not worth £58 per person plus a service charge slapped on top. Half way through the serving we’ve received the bill, although we didn’t ask for it, then to be told that we can take the food away in boxes. If I wanted to take away the food, I would have gone to Patisserie Valerie and Pret and not to a 5 star hotel and have it in a very noisy environment and expensive.
Definitely not my cup of tea!

The afternoon tea was delicious and alternatives were offered when one of our party disliked eggs.
The waiters in the Long Bar were amazing, although they were very busy they made there service very personal and took time to make sure we were all happy and had what we wanted,

Food fantastic, service could have been improved (we had to ask for drinks, butter, milk numerous times before we received them) and it didn’t warrant the discretionary service charge added to the bill.
We had a lovely time but it could have been better if service improved.

Everything was outstanding , we loved where we sat outside ,it made it part of the Mad hatter theme, along with the chairs and blankets better than being inside.
We loved the way the tea came in little jars ,teapots etc... everything had character from the sugar box /menu book to the actual food in how it was prepared and looked.
Worth the money for what went into creating this theme of mad hatters tea party .

There were no flamingos in the garden or flowers in the swinging chair as advertised online, this contributed to my thoughts that the outside environment was not that attractive. We were placed on a table which was circular and small, it was difficult to find the room to fit everything on let alone move things around. People were constantly walking past literally brushing our table every time making the afternoon tea set wobble. I was very surprised to see a £14.50 service charge which I said to the waiter I did not want to pay. Later I discovered on the receipt I was in fact charged the additional £14.50. Finally, this is my own personal opinion but there were so many sweet things included i.e the cakes and biscuits it would be nice if there were more savoury foods to balance it out more. Would not recommend for the price it cost us and will not be returning.
