Absolutely loved our experience. Our waiter Kylar Valentine was witty and attentive. Very great place to go with a man not too girly!

Lovely afternoon tea at the Sanderson. Staff gave absolutely amazing service, discreet but there as soon as you needed them. Food tasted amazing - friend given cake as it was her birthday which was a lovely complimentary touch. Interior of hotel very nicely done! Will be returning.

The experience was ok, the afternoon tea was cute. I felt the cocktails were too expensive, and didn’t taste too great. Also service wasn’t amazing, we had to wait awhile if we wanted to ask someone a question. Then they try and charge you 15% service charge, when they barely served you!

I came here on the assumption it was £40 pp had our afternoon tea choice of mini sandwiches really not nice also shell was left in crab sandwiches. The cake choice again not great left most of it then got charged £171 instead if £120 which really made our day out not a good one. I don’t mind paying if it’s enjoyable but a couple of tiny sandwiches and a mouthful of cake really wasn’t worth the money and I will be expecting £51 back. There was nothing decorated to say anything about mad hatters either I would rather of gone elsewhere where it’s themed.

Pretty pricey but a very nice location, the food is good, plentiful and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. I brought 4 young girls and they loved it. There were vegetarian options which were very nice. We enjoyed it and would recommend.

The staff were amazing from start to finish. The waiter who served our afternoon tea was attentive and had a great sense of humour.
The afternoon tea was delicious and alternatives were offered when one of our party disliked eggs.
The waiters in the Long Bar were amazing, although they were very busy they made there service very personal and took time to make sure we were all happy and had what we wanted,

Food fantastic, service could have been improved (we had to ask for drinks, butter, milk numerous times before we received them) and it didn’t warrant the discretionary service charge added to the bill.
We had a lovely time but it could have been better if service improved.

Everything was outstanding , we loved where we sat outside ,it made it part of the Mad hatter theme, along with the chairs and blankets better than being inside.
We loved the way the tea came in little jars ,teapots etc... everything had character from the sugar box /menu book to the actual food in how it was prepared and looked.
Worth the money for what went into creating this theme of mad hatters tea party .

There were no flamingos in the garden or flowers in the swinging chair as advertised online, this contributed to my thoughts that the outside environment was not that attractive. We were placed on a table which was circular and small, it was difficult to find the room to fit everything on let alone move things around. People were constantly walking past literally brushing our table every time making the afternoon tea set wobble. I was very surprised to see a £14.50 service charge which I said to the waiter I did not want to pay. Later I discovered on the receipt I was in fact charged the additional £14.50. Finally, this is my own personal opinion but there were so many sweet things included i.e the cakes and biscuits it would be nice if there were more savoury foods to balance it out more. Would not recommend for the price it cost us and will not be returning.

Was really excited to try the afternoon tea for a while, booked to come with my mum. Nice outside area (luckily wasn’t a cold day) waiter was helpful and explained everything to us. The tier came out before the tea which was a disappointment as everybody else received the tea first which is what we were expecting. The food selection was nice, the crab brioche were abit stale. You only got 1 scone each, for the price they charge you’d expect 2 scones! The service was good but not amazing, wouldn’t pay £115 for it! We took what we didn’t eat home, we left 1 of the brioches but that wasn’t in the box when we got home.

The tea was outside which I hadn't realised and it was a cold day, even with the heaters/blankets, we were all still cold. On the whole the cakes were too rich for the children, we went for my daughters 9th birthday, I think its better suited for adults. I've been to other afternoon tea's when they offer you more of your favourite, this would have been a nice touch given the children only like the jam heart biscuit. Best for adults in the summer months.

Abit pricey for afternoon tea compared to other places we have been to. Expected a little more to be honest for the price. Also, a 15% service charge is added to your bill at the end. We chose the vegan option and overall was a decent experience.

The whole experience was brilliant and good fun, from the choice of teas to the aptly decorated teapots, to the equally aptly decorated cakes! We were seated on time and were not rushed in any way which was really nice too. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and the afternoon went so quickly that before we knew it, we had finished and we had, regretfully, to leave.

Service was great but the food was mediocre. Both the regular one and the dairy free option. The latter was almost not eatable. Would definitely not recommend that one. If they want to do dairy free option for the same price as the other it has to be better than that. For the regular one the scones were dry but the chocolate cake and lemon cake were tasty.

Amazing service, food was delicious, did not know it was bottomless so even better. It was a bit disappointing there was no music as it kind of killed the atmosphere a bit, some soothing background music to go with the waterfall would have been nice. The receptionist was a bit snooty but our waiter was incredible!

We were so excited to be having a tea at Sanderson. We arrived 15 min early for our reservation and were told that we would have to wait util our scheduled time. 5 Min after our time, they came and asked if we could wait another 10-15 min, to which I said "no". So they seated us inside, and them we waited at least another 10 min for a server. The service could not have been worse, slow, not attentive and then all the food came at once and not staged. This was supposed to be good for kids and was anything but. The food was ok. We were 3 kids and 2 adults and had way too much food. We easily could have order for 2 or 3 people and had more than enough. Then the real shocker came when the bill arrived. Will not ever go back, and would not recommend.

As we went at 7pm I hadn't realised when I booked that we would be having the Tipsy Madhatters Tea.....well I can honestly say it was a very pleasant surprise. My daughter and I love quirky afternoon tea's and this didn't disappoint. The only reason I've put 'quiet' is because we went on a Monday evening. So if you'd like a bit more atmosphere I'd go Thursday onwards. It certainly didn't affect our enjoyment of the evening. The food was original and very tasty..... and the Tipsy treats were unexpected. Compared to other places we've been to I thought the cost was very reasonable and would not hesitate in recommending it. BTW the staff were very attentive - which these days seems to be a rarity. Enjoy.

I have been here twice before and had a fab experience however this time around, it was a very different experience.
We waited well over an hour for food to be served, we had to send back one round of our cocktails because they tasted awful and the replacement round wasn’t much better.
We could see others who’d arrived after us being served their food and drinks before us and it didn’t appear organised.

We also had to prompt the staff that we were missing elements of our afternoon tea and we waited a long while to have our teapots refilled.

We could also see that other tables around us weren’t happy either which was a real shame.

It was such a shame that this was our experience. We won’t be going back there for a while and we refused to pay the service charge.
