We loved it .... only slight thing that bothered us was the pidgeons ...... as we were in the courtyard .... the pidgeons were flying around a bit and one was on a table near us after the diners had left .... not sure why a clear net could not be put up within the courtyard.

As a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, this tea completely exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and extremely filling. If you don't have a sweet tooth you might not like everything offered but you're able to order more of any of the food if you prefer the savory food. The decorations are wonderful and I would recommend the experience to any fan of the story or anyone who would enjoy a whimsical afternoon with delicious food and tea.

Was given table indoors which really ruins the whole experience and not worth the money paid.
Lady with short black hair who welcomed us was very arrogant and not helpful!
If you can’t promise table will be outside, then don’t provide indoor ones for afternoon tea as we travelled far to come to this afternoon tea only to be disappointedly seated in a boring indoor corner of the restaurant.
We specified during booking and when we reached there as well that we don’t eat ham and when our trays arrived, there was ham sandwiches on them!
Overall very very disappointed. Will definitely not recommend!

Really enjoyed the expereience. Just found the service a but slow. No one came back to offer more drinka, always had to flag down a waitress.
When we did ask for 4 more 'drink me' items, only 1 arrived.

But did thoroughly enjoy the experience and food.

Food was great and was lovely. Enjoyed the Mad Hatter themed afternoon tea. However, the wooden floor was irritating. It wobbles the table, and wobbles plates. A few times was worried the tower would fall. When the waiters and waitresses were walking around, I made some loud noises as well. It would be good if you can fix the flooring. And also the pigeons. Not sure how you can solve that. They were mostly on the floor, but still.

A beautiful setting , a sanctuary of calm on a busy hot day !
The outdoor seating area is surrounded by wonderful plants & although on a busy London street still calm & relaxing. Excellent service from the staff both in the bar area & tea room , never hurried or fussed over too much. Both my Daughter & myself thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon & have recommended this to our friends & family. The selection of sandwiches & cakes is unusual & different , almost too nice to eat. Thank you Sanderson Hotel you made a special birthday even more memorable.

We paid £48 and were given a table inside. Then we had to wait around 40 minutes before even getting our afternoon tea brought to us. The scones weren’t warm as it should have been. Overall it Was not worth it.

Sadly we were left disappointed. My 9 year old daughter asked for the children’s afternoon tea but asked for ham sandwiches and the cucumber ones. She told me afterwards that the ham ones had no butter so were dry. The afternoon tea does not cater for children. All of the sweet treats are geared towards an adult palate - bitter dark chocolate, which she doesn’t like. You advertise it for children to have too but it is not the case. When the bill came I was charged for 2 adult afternoon teas, not a child one and an adult one. For the money, it was not worth it, and my daughter was left very disappointed and quite hungry.

You go for the experience. Food was ok but not nearly worth what you pay. Read that we could have more but didn't see our server for over 20 minutes to even ask, which made it even more frustrating that they add the 15% gratuity up front,
so they don't need to meet a service standard.
Finally flagged down some one to pay the bill. Don't ever need to do this again.

I took my cousin to the Mad Hatters afternoon tea as a special treat and it was amazing! The food was excellent and you could request more of anything on the menu, we loved the quails egg and croque monsieur so we were delighted to get some more of those! The teas were really fun and the decor/presentation was creative and really true to the theme. We were served by Kai (I think that’s the right spelling) and he was brilliant, very friendly and knowledgeable and he really made our visit special. Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to get extra clotted cream and water without a long wait. My only slight negative is that our table wasn’t outside in the garden which was a shame however next time I’ll try and request for us to be seated outside. Highly recommend this afternoon tea, I would say one of the best in London at the moment!

We loved our afternoon tea! The food and tea was amazing. One thing to know, however, is you won’t be served for quite awhile. We waited about 45 minutes after ordering, which was fine, but no one updated us so we thought maybe they forgot our order.

We sat outside in the garden area which was nice except for the roaming pigeons. We were also sat by the water feature which made hearing each other talk very difficult. The food was lovely but we waited a long time for our tea to arrive and then again a very long wait for a top up of tea.
The food was very tasty however there was a lot of sweet items and it could do with one or two more savoury items to balance it out.
Overall a lovely afternoon out but very expensive for what you get.

Mad Hatter’s afternoon tea at Sandersons Hotel. We were seated in the courtyard area which added to the experience. The staff were welcoming & friendly. Our server explained all the components of the afternoon tea thoroughly. The afternoon tea itself was exquisite as was the attention to detail. All in all a very special and unique treat.

We were seated inside and not out in the courtyard area. That completely changed the experience. I know there’s no guarantee of being seated outside but to be honest it really wasn’t as special as I had thought and the photographs online make it look really amazing. It isn’t really. Left feeling meh about it.

A disappointing experience for my husbands Father’s Day surprise treat. No hot drinks menus provided, not advised that we can have refill of sandwiches / sweets. Explained that one diner is not vegan but doesn’t have egg, and even after 3rd attempt just received vegan tea. Vegan tea is frankly awful, vegetarian not much better. You pay same amount of money for dry bread and scones with scant fillings as a non-veg who gets crab and salmon. Not good value for money, vegan treats clearly looked like an after thought. Unimpressed and have raised a complaint and awaiting response.

We sat inside since we were told that it would take 20-30 mins for a table outside. Our food took so long to arrive that our tea wasn’t hot anymore during our meal. We understand that it was busy but would have appreciated if our server could have at least informed us what was going on instead of our group wondering if we have been forgotten. We wanted to ask for our check but our server was nowhere to be found.

Not as special as we were hoping for. For those in the know sitting out in courtyard would have been nicer than indoors.

Food selection was average. Not huge selection of savoury items including sandwiches although you could have more of what there was if you wanted. Lemon cake was not good however scones were delicious.

Very expensive really for what you got & lack of atmosphere inside.
