Madame Pigg opened in November 2018 and is located on the Haggerston strip of Kingsland Road, alongside luminaries Rotorino, Brilliant Corners, Chick n Sours et al. Since then, Chef Hardiman has been serving both quality interpretations of classic dishes and seasonal inspired British dishes.
Fantastic dinner out. Excellent food and service and charming ambiance.
Lovely meal at Madame Pigg. Attentive waiting staff and absolutely delicious food. Will def be back!
Quite possibly the best roast I’ve ever had! Portion size was generous and will definitely be returning soon
Great decor, and excellent roast beef. Hands down best roast I’ve had in London. All food start to finish was fab. Great service and team vibes from staff!
Sunday roast from the Gods! Amazing food and service!
Best meal I’ve had in London! Possibly ever!
The food was stunning, absolutely superb.
Great food, great service. My new favourite place! I
The staff, food and ambience were very good. There were 6 of us and we all really enjoyed the innovative food helped by the friendly young staff
would highly recommend it and definitely go again
Best Sunday roast in town - the beef and lamb were perfect.
Madame Pigg has become one of my absolute favourite restaurants. The Sunday roast wins over any other. Absolutely remarkable. The place is so welcoming. The music is always brilliant and every plate of food knocks your head off. Staff are all super lovely and if I could I'd eat there every week. Go go go!
Service was very friendly, but food extremely slow to arrive, although gave us a free round of drinks to compensate. Think kitchen short-handed. Food was mostly excellent - great steak, very nice roast potatoes and chicken liver pate excellent. However, gnocchi was way too salty.
This is definitely my new favourite restaurant in Hackney. Fantastic, unpretentious food with great service. The seabass main was amazing and all very reasonably priced. Cant wait to return!
Nice meal in cute garden off Kingsland Rd. service was friendly. Seafood platter was good. Ragu with chicken was just baked tomatoes. Bit pricey overall but in keeping with Dalston these days.
My wife and I dined here for my birthday...we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was vibrant (good choice of background music), service was attentive yet relaxed. 10/10.
We had such a great time. Really can’t fault any of it - we were craving oysters but unfortunately the staff told us they weren’t happy with what they had in so massively respect that (expected when the menu is fresh every day!). We’ve already decided to come back in August for my girlfriends birthday and can’t wait.
Great vibe, better food. Good for allergies. We will be back.
The starters were nice but the mains we had (especially the schnizel which the waitress highly recommended) was really dry and bland. It's a nice little restaurant but too overpriced for average food.
Fabulous space and lovely staff. The olives are to die for - best in London!!
One of the best roasts I've had in London - proper crispy roast potatoes, beautiful meat, a top Yorkshire pudding and delicious red wine. The crispy pork starter was also incredible. If you haven't tried Madam Pig, you must!
This is now one of my favourite restaurants in Dalston - the food is ALWAYS delicious - I've never had an average meal there - consistently fantastic, and the staff are too lovely for words. They have recently opened a 'secret garden' out the back for the summer months. I cannot wait to visit. Please go if you are in the area. They change the menu frequently, and it is never boring.
Very accommodating and amazing service. Great location and great vibes
I read great reviews about Madame Pigg and three of us decided to check it out today for Sunday lunch ...it definitely lived up to our expectations and was well worth the trip to Kingsland Road ...the food is just fab ..
We had the squid and chargrilled leeks for starters which were really tasty ... we all opted for a roast for mains ...Beef, lamb and chicken ( literally half a chicken was served as one person portion ! ) all were really good served with fab (huge) Yorkshire’s roast potatoes and veg .... buttered greens and cauliflower sides were also excellent ... portions were very generous leaving no room for desert !
It had a really nice atmosphere, cool decor and very attentive staff .... the playlist was also very good !! will definitely be back to try out evening menu ..... thanks for a lovely lunch
This place is UNREAL! The decor is really unique and gives a lovely ambience. The staff are FAB, they really make you feel welcome from walking through the door to leaving after your meal. Bloody Mary’s are delicious. We had the scallops and mussels to start and the beef roast for mains - I can not recommend all dishes highly enough. Can’t wait to return and try even more of the menu offering’s!
Delicious roast, wonderful staff, would return!
First visit, loved everything up until the dessert.
The good: almost everything! the space, the warm welcome, the very friendly personnel, the sunday roast was delicious, the small plates of food were also really yum. Good to keep in mind the portions are all on the small side compared to similar places, but just order more if you're hungry.
The bad: the dessert. it was described as lemon cake and mascarpone, and for £7 that's all it was, a very small slice (1cm high, no more) of cake that was already baked and dry, and a spoon of mascarpone, straight out of the jar as you buy it in the supermarket. The whole thing was literally only 2 elements, no effort, no cooking, no garnish, no texture, no acidity. It was very dry and disappointing. You would expect at least a drizzle of syrup, or a crunch element, it's bad to pay £7 for a slice of cake that every cafe serves for £2.
conclusion: I would go back for the food and the atmosphere, but I will skip the dessert.
I’m afraid we were a bit disappointed, we came on Saturday evening for a meal. The place itself and staff were lovely, but the food was a let down we found. I had phoned in advance to say we had a vegan coming and was told that there were always four or five vegan options on the menu, and on the website it also says there are plenty of vegan options. When we got there, there were no vegan options on the menu and we were told nothing could be made vegan. Our vegan diner therefore had a bowl of vegetables: courgette and a few other things, which we were later charged £14 for.
Incredible neighbourhood gem! Wonderful food and great hospitality and service. We go as often as possible. Love this place!!
Roast potatoes were boss!
Sunday lunch. Great food. Decent prices. Great team. Will be back
Perfect place to catch up with friends or also for a date, lovely food and great atmosphere!
Great restaurant! Both of our roasts were absolutely delicious. Atmosphere and ambience were lovely. Service was excellent and our waiters could not have been more helpful. Slightly disappointed to be told that they had run out of all the dessert but certainly gives us an excuse to come back!
Recent opening from a chef with a good pedigree (St John's, Dartmouth Arms), but still finding its feet. Friendly, but very very slow service; several dishes sold out; uncomfortable bench seating; and music too loud to have a conversation across the table. Food was hit and miss: some tasty veggie starters, and big main course servings; but the schnitzel was burnt/cold/dry, and pineapple dessert was rock hard/uncooked, despite taking over 30 mins. Some mains have sides, some don't: the server encouraged us to order more potatoes, to accompany the potatoes that already came with the lamb. Oh, and no coffee or tea. It would all be fine for a gastropub, but for a £70 per head restaurant, not so much.
Amazing food menu was epic
Great closet atmosphere
Can’t wait to go back for a Sunday roast
Enjoyable neighbourhood restaurant. Food highlights were the charred leek and romesco sauce and the lovely bread and walnut butter. Lamb chops were perfectly cooked. Nice to see old style starter/main/pud selection rather than small plates - although the mains were generously sized and could easily be shared. Friendly service, great music at the right volume. short wine list with good choice by glass. Downside - no coffee! I know Dalston is overrun with coffee shops but an after dinner espresso would be good. So would a grappa or a dessert wine....
Best food I’ve had in years. Will be returning hopefully later next week. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
Good anytime - but definitely book a Sunday roast!
Dined Sunday afternoon and had the roast. Best roast I’ve had in London and the service was awesome too. Will be back!
Been here before for dinner but came back from the roast and I always saw good things on their Instagram! Decent amount of beef on the plate, roast pots were great and a little surprise of parsnip puree, carrots and greens underneath. All to the tones of Fleetwood Mac!
The food here was well worth the journey from Warwickshire!! Adam is so passionate and his team are just lovely and so attentive.
The food (where do I begin?!) incredible.
Oysters were so fresh, the prawns were so yummy and the steak was cooked to perfection (served with truffle cauliflower cheese)was the best we have ever eaten.
We shall be back for sure!!
Thanks again for a great dining experience
