Marinated chicken supreme deep fried in gram flour batter
Onion dipped in flavoured gram flour batter and deep fried
Zeer vriendelijk ontvangen, en het eten was heel erg lekker. Eén van de weinige echte Indaase keukens in Glasgow
Probably the best Indian meal I have had in the UK. Stumbled in thinking we were going to have a standard 'British' Indian meal, and came away having had authentic, fabulous southern Indian cuisine. The food was interesting, well prepared and soooo very tasty and the service was impeccable. I've never had a dosa, and though i was intent on having a naan bread, we ending up ordering both, so i could try something new. The dosa was so tasty (and gluten-free, a bonus!), I hardly ate the naan. The starters were sublime (we had chicken, pankaj pyaz (onion bhaji-like). I had a paneer dish that was rich, aromatic and deeply satisfying. Sadly I was so full I had no room to try the desserts. Can't wait to go back!
Friday night two weeks before Christmas. Restaurant busy but not full. Drinks served fairly quickly then a 25 minute wait to order food. Pickle tray and popadoms arrived promptly. Followed about 15 minutes later by our food. Or that should say my husbands curry but no rice, my sauce but wrong main. After trying three times to give me lamb chops that I didn’t order another waiter came and told them to take everything away. Another 15 minutes and correct food arrived. Husbands curry had obviously been sat in the kitchen as it was lukewarm. Otherwise can’t fault the food. Nobody asked us if we wanted more drinks. We did but could not attract anyone’s attention and gave up. After the bill had been paid and we were putting our coats on we were offered coffee or dessert on the house. Fortunately Glasgow has many good Indian restaurants as we won’t be rushing back to this one.
Superb food, great service would definitely recommend!
Took a punt at this place and wasn't disappointed. Seemed overly quiet at first but soon got busier. Food was 1st class and arrived promptly. My wife is vegan and had lots to choose from.
Keep it up guys -Many thanks.
Awesome place, great flavorful food and exceptional service.
Went to Madha on the recommendation of several Indian friends. Food was excellent and the service very attentive. Although quiet on the night the restaurant is well appointed and had a good atmosphere.
Madha gave us personal attention even though it was a busy night with a large party taking up most of the dining area. Food is always delicious.
Great place food was amazing authentic Indian food, service was very good the owner even came out to explain the food and his chefs come from different parts of India so the food is cooked differently depending on the regions.. A very good place to eat.. A must try
This is my 5th visit and as always food is amazing. Such a great choice with lots of different dishes you don’t see anywhere else. Joseph is a great host!
Recommend the tandoori lamb chops and paper dosa - mango lassi is superb!!
Great choice of food and very personal service - one of the best!
Food was amazing, service was excellent & the staff were all lovely!
Best Indian in Glasgow!
This was our first visit to Madha. It certainly will not be our last. We’ve told all our friends about this little gem.
Our host, Joseph, explained the menu to us. Next time we’re going to let him select our meal for us
Really good food and great welcome and service. Will be back
Very friendly staff and delicious food but the service is absolutely awful. Restaurant was half empty and there were 4 waiting staff but it was chaos. Despite telling them we were in a big rush for a show it took 90 minutes for our food to arrive. A beer took 30 mins to arrive! The popadoms never did. They apologised about that but still didn't't bring them! How long do popadoms take? 30 seconds? However I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume something had gone wrong as a restaurant wouldn't survive if it was always run like that. And the food was very good.
Food is always seriously good and the staff are super friendly!
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and good value.
We live in Berlin and look forward to coming back home for a tasty indian. This place didn‘t disappoint
We booked through Opentable, deciding on Indian Cuisine. We were delighted with the service, food and attentive owner of Maddha. Dishes were recommended and some made outwith the menu, and everything was delicious. A fantastic experience and we’ll definitely be back
Had been recently and the food was fantastic, although we were forgotten for half an hour when it came to seeing the dessert menu. So I suggested going again, since the food was so good. Service was even worse this time round with a wait of over an hour for starters. Didn’t wait around for the dessert menu this time and still had to go to the front to get our bill. Won’t be back, which is a shame as the food is excellent.
Very good food and very nice staff
Conveniently located in Glasgow city centre; easy to book a table
The food was very good (and spicy!), people were very friendly... But it felt as if they were forgotten us. Apero was served, and immediately the starters. Then, after 3/4h the rest. We bought a bottle of wine and grace to our observation skills, we've found out that they were serving us not a whole bottle, but a bottle which was already opened and missed a full glas... After diner we've asked for a taxi. One or another friend of the restaurant picked us up and charged us the double of the price we've paid when we were arriving...
We have been to the Madha before and have always been very happy! This time was no exception. The service was wonderful and attentive, and the owner made great recommendations. The food was delicious as always, the perfect amount (almost too much!). This is not like the standard Indian takeaways you can find all over Glasgow, the food is much more diverse and make with passion. I can only recommend going.
Friendly and outstanding service. Good price for value.
Great food and service but getting a little bit pricey. Enjoyed a lovely meal here recently, the food is excellent and the service is very good. Joseph looks after you very well. I would have to say it is getting quite pricey though so be aware. I've no doubt I'll be back but maybe only on a special occasion.
Delicious Indian food which was clearly home made, very fresh and with quality ingredients. Fairly expensive but we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we selected. Very good service by friendly and knowledgable team
The staff are very friendly, the decor is a bit clinical, the food is very tasty but the curries just seem to have more sauce than content. Glad I went though.
I had read and heard good things about Mahda. I was not disappointed. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes, all of which sounded so tasty that it made the choice very difficult. I have never come across such a varied Indian menu, with both northern and southern dishes on offer. I chose a Keralan chicken stew with vegetables which was outstanding. And I'm 57 and have been to many, many Indian restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The whole experience was wonderful. Go!
Terrific find just by our digs. Host Joseph and his team took very good care of us. They are passionate regarding their business and food and their confidence in their menu is justified.
Joseph suggested we go off-piste menu wise and, based upon our general tastes, devised starters and main courses that were really delicious.
I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Very friendly service. Highly recommended! Will coming back again.
Food was fab, Joseph was a delight!
Excellent restaurant particularly for group looking for vegan /vegetarian options. Excellent knowledgeable attentive staff. Food really nice with lot of different dishes from both North and South India. Quiet on Saturday afternoon so atmosphere slightly lacking but I am sure this is not the case at night. Would certainly recommend.
Based on the many good reviews we had such high hopes for this place - but were left hugely disappointed by the food. We both ordered soups to start, expecting something sumptuous. But both were thin and watery. (The Mukkavan soup had hardly any seafood in it, and the Rasam had the consistency of a curry cup-a-soup.)
The mains were also disappointing (both off the Chicken part of the menu) with runny sauces that had a harsh spicy taste but hardly any depth of flavour. Despite ordering very different dishes (with supposedly very different ingredients), they both tasted almost identical.
The service was good but all in all, this was a massive let down. At £46 for 2 soups, 2 mains, bread, and 2 pints of Kingfisher, it wasn't too pricey but we could have spent half that on a carry out from our local Indian (in fact, ANY local Indian) and enjoyed it a hundred times as much.
