Maezo Modern Indian Cuisine
Maezo's Gulab Jamun Cheesecake or Mango Rasmalai Trifle are the perfect desserts with which to finish your meal.
Saturday 7pm - very quiet time to eat with more customers coming in by 8 - closes at 9!
food very good, albeit a bit pricy for amount given-especially if you are sharing the dishes.
loved the butter chicken poutine appetizer.
Service was efficient and helpful.
Would come back again .
Busy Monday night and a large table of colleagues from the same conference had obviously overwhelmed the restaurant’s capacity.
The staff dealt with the situation with confidence and good humor. Would love to come back when less busy.
Service is too slow. There’s only one server/waiter and the place wasn’t even busy
Ordered a shrimp tandoori salad. The shrimp was cold. The lettuce and cucumber in the salad was gone bad. The menu said mint chutney but they served it with Italian dressing. Terrible place. Would not recommend. Over priced for the quality.
Warm welcome . Stellar service. The appetizers were sensational- the best Bahji/ pakoras ever, delicious samosas served in an unusual and very tasty way. Vegetable biriyani was a success. Being seasoned curry eaters, we would have liked more heat in the vindaloo and Madras curries. Our fault for not asking. Topped it all off with perfect gulab jamun(sp?)
Will be back!
Very friendly staff, although they seemed to be a little understaffed, so service was a bit slow. We got our appetizer before our drinks. But otherwise, very good experience. The Masala Macaroni was delicious, as was the Butter Chicken.
The place was clean and service was good. However, Food Price was highly expensive and food quality wasn't that great as well. Reception, Service, Place, and Ambience was really good, but food price, quality, and the taste wasn't great.
The food was fabulous and well valued. The staff very attentive and the ambience calm. Would highly recommend.
We had the Butter Chicken. It was delicious. Certainly one of their best dishes.
Food was fantastic, with a great balance of sweet and spicy. Lots of unique choices combined with traditional favourites. My only issue was that it was quite cold in the restaurant when we were there. My wife had to put her coat on.
I was there with two of my colleagues and two of us order a chicken dish where the chicken was extremely undercooked. Staff was non-existent throughout and ran out of patience to complain. I just paid my bill and left. This was by far the worst indian food I have ever tried. Will not be coming back.
Food was excellent and service couldn’t be better! Looking forward to our return visit.
Chicken kebab was rock hard, server took our order by seat, but don't know who ordered which dish after. Charged 15% tips for table of 7 without clear notice.
One of the best secrets of the financial district.... likely not for too much longer. Also likely the best Indian in the city. Perfect mix of spices in every dish ... they really accentuate. and their okra dish is to die for.
The food was fresh, fragrant and delicious. Great for sharing. The staff is very friendly and offered great suggestions for our group that were all a hit. Location was close enough for the theatre crowd, within a 10 min walk or quick cab ride. We will visit again!
Awesome food and service!
Great food! Would love if you had Thalis so
Could sample all the delicious food n one plate!
Delicious and exciting food! Fun / Maezo experience! The service was Warm and genuine. I’ll be back to try another traditional dish, with a twist!
Visited this Indian Fusion restaurant because of positive recommendations and it was in the vicinity of our hotel. Menu is limited, with plenty of vegetarian options but the food was very authentic and incredibly tasty - would definitely recommend for the very tasty and authentic food. Don’t go expecting traditional Indian fast food - Chicken Korma or Tikka masala, but this is much better!
Service was good, staff/owner was very attentive, whilst ambience is a little hard to describe - table layout makes it seems very school or cafeteria-like, but don’t let that put you off some great authentic Indian food.
I was very happy and would definitely return. The food was delicious and the staff went out of their way to ensure my guests and myself were happy and well fed. They make you feel very welcome and comfortable
Excellent flavours and friendly, competent staff.
Food wasn’t great compared to other Indian options in the city.
Food was interesting and very good. A mix between traditional Indian food and modern. The service was excellent. With our waiter happy to make suggestions and answer questions.
Uninspiring food. The fusion menu didn’t bring out enough notes of Indian food. The fries are subpar. If I were to dine again I would stick with the traditional Indian food here.
They cancelled our reservation either they didn't notify us or else operable...Either way we were stranded last minute trying to figure out other options.
Food was very flavourful and we would return for this reason. The decour is very odd and they could do without the Bollywood movies playing on various screens in the restaurant.
Good food and great service! I would definitely go again.
Delicious food - and what an interesting selection of traditional Indian dishes as well as new takes! Yum!
The food was oily and over spicy. The host was visibly confused and not attempted to tables. During the night he also cleaned the other tables with a product that smell terribly strong .
A diamond in the rough. Service was terrific, food was fresh and extremely tasty. Price was a bit high... $64 with tip for lunch. No alcohol. But overall a great choice.
Not the greatest decor, but the service was good, the food was tastey, and the price was right!
This is place is wonderful! Made a reservation for a work event - 14 people. It can be really hard to find a spot for that many folks. Maezo was so accomodating. Food was excellent - everyone cleaned their plates! Service was excellent. I will be coming back for sure (already told a bunch of my friends about this place).
Maezo is great for Indian food with a twist. My friend and I loved the samosa chaat. We also ordered a lamb dish and the biryani bowl. The biryani was delicious and the lamb was nice and tender. We could have easily just ordered an appetizer and an entree between the two of us and would be full. We ended up having left overs - which simply means more good food for later in this case. The place was very quiet, but then again it was lunch on the last day of the long weekend. I would have preferred to have some bread options with the entrees versus just having rice with every dish. But all in all I'd definitely go back, especially for that yummy chaat :-)
Very friendly host, excellent food and the wine was fantastic. We had a wonderful time and the price is very reasonable. Strongly recommend.
Great new restaurant in the financial district. Innovative Indian-Canadian fusion with a touch of Mexican. Great dishes like fusion mac & cheese, naan tacos, and butter chicken poutine. The owner is extremely gracious and makes sure that his guests are well cared for. The traditional dishes are excellent - fresh, great flavor and just the right amount to heat. And for those who avoid Indian restaurants because they don't usually have a great bar - not the case here. The previous establishment at the location was a rum bar - and the beautiful and large bar was left in place. We found this place when looking for new restaurants to go to during Summerlicious and really liked it. I have gone back and eaten from the regular menu and was impressed again. I will definitely be going back. (And they also cater.)
Not Indian food. Not western. Place is kind of confused. Nothing special.
My friends and I went here as part of a large group (16 people) for a special occasion. The reservation had been made well in advance, but I had to push the reservation back an hour due to other issues- that went okay without a problem.
The space itself is pretty nice and the seating was comfortable.
The food was phenomenal, came out in a timely manner, and everyone pretty much enjoyed their meal. There were options for various food/diet regimens, including low carb and vegetarian.
We all had alcoholic beverages, which many people enjoyed as well. When we ordered the second round, most of us went with simple drinks to decrease the wait time.
Our server was great, but spread thin. She not only took our food and drink orders, but also made most of the drinks. There was another server working the floor and I did get irritated when I saw her chatting with her tables while my friends and I were waiting for water, dishes to get cleared. A couple of times I had to go to our server, while she was washing glasses, to ask for water, etc. There was another bartender, but he was not always there- thus our server pulling double duty. Obviously, there were some staffing inefficiencies that night. We ended up being there for about three hours, which is longer than we expected.
In summation: Really great food, great drinks, okay space, but probably not the place for a large group.
Food was average.
Came with family and friends after my convocation. Atmosphere was lovely, the service was great and real friendly, and finally the food was delicious!! All around fantastic spot; will definitely be recommending to others.
Food was good. Overall indian food with twisted. Must to try specially when you want to have Indian food but not "Roti and curry"
And a good host :)
PS: ask for spice level if you like spicy food
