It is sad to me that I forget about this place! What a delight to have this restaurant in Historic Downtown Grapevine. The drinks are perfect and the food delicious! Escargot are the best!!
Our Father’s Day meal was (as always) delicious! The service was great, too!
This place is fabulous. The food and wine are excellent and the service is superb! We also loved the music/entertainment. We definitely are going to be back soon.
Excellent food and service.
Love this cozy little place and the live music. Food is very good.
Food was surprisingly authentic and well-prepared. Wines were very good, and service was very good. GREAT value. A bit noisy and ambience was kind of weird - décor was more old west than France.
Main Street Bistro was awesome as usual! The service is fantastic, the food exceptional, and the environment very inviting and engaging. We chose to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary at the Bistro with some good friends from out of state. I highly recommend Main Street Bistro!
Overall it was very good. My only complaint was that our table for two was quite tiny and pushed flush against a wall on one side. We felt cramped and it was somewhat awkward to navigate once food and drinks were delivered.
The experience was okay, but not as spectacular as I expected after what I had read and heard about the place. The drinks were overpriced and inconsistently mixed. 2 people in our party ordered 2 each of the same drink, and it tasted different all 4 times. The food was good, but nothing different than I could have gotten at a less expensive venue. Basically, this restaurant is the perfect way for a pretentious patron to pay 3x what they would really need to, just because they can. In that way, I suppose, Chez Fabien did their job correctly. Bravo.
I won't be completely negative. The chocolate mousse cake was divine, the spinach artichoke dip was probably the best I've had, and the herb butter for the bread was unique and multi-faceted.
I also appreciated that we were served our water European-style. I wish more restaurants understood that appeal.
Great food but superb service! We will go back
Amazing! Live music, food was great as usual.
The four of us shared the brie and mushroom appetizer as well as the calamari appetizer. Both were very good. Our bottle of wine tasted a little odd, but wasn’t too bad. All of our entrées were good. My steak Frites was excellent, although the fries were a little salty. The ravioli and Seabass were particularly good i’m told. We ordered a single bread pudding for the table which was more than the four of us could finish.
I must mention that the restaurant was hard to find, as the awning had a different name then Main Street Bistro. The tables could have used a tablecloth or placemats or something.
Had heard great things about this restaurant but was disappointed. Everything was just “OK”, except the Steak Frites which was not good. Two of us has this dinner, and both steaks were extremely fatty with hardly any meat. Waiter was pleasant but seemed REALLY rushed and busy.
Easily my favorite restaurant in Grapevine. Really good service; the guy I assume is the manager is always very sweet. Gets very busy on Friday & Saturday nights and for brunch so a reservation is a must. It gets really crowded too because the seating area where you’re meant to wait for your table is usually being used by live music acts which is great, the musicians are always very good, but also causes overcrowding so just roll up right at your reservation time. I recommend any of the salads, and for sure the lobster grilled cheese. Crab cakes are hit or miss, they do different things with ‘em but when they’re good, they’re goooooood. Cocktails are also really nice & a pretty extensive wine list what with all the wineries nearby.
Our service was very poor. The waiter could not have been less interested in our table and avoided us every chance he got. Never asked for a 2nd drink order. Never refilled our water. Never smiled. Spent as little time at our table as he possible could. We were crammed 3 in a booth seat with no room to move our arms and an inch of clearance between us and the table. It was like eating on an airplane....seriously!
The food was very good though. Like most restaurants in DFW these days, the food itself far outshines the service. In a hot job market, the service is so poor that the food doesn't compensate and it ruins the dining experience. There's really no excuse though for bad service, no matter what the job market is like.
I would not go back here unless it was in a very low-traffic time where they MIGHT have decent service. Very disappointed.
The place was vibrant and decorated well for Christmas. Our waiter seemed "aloof" - was not warm or attentive at all. He mentioned as we were getting seated there was 30 minutes left of Happy Hour and then disappeared! We had to "flag" him down to place an order for drinks. We had to tell him when we were ready to order. We had to ask for the 4th set of eating utensils. We had to ask for a "to go" box when clearly we had finished and there was quite a bit of food remaining.
The food was good and we enjoyed the ambiance but the waiter either was tired due to the holiday load or just not a happy worker.
The food is very good but the service is not great. It took about 15 minutes or so to get our initial drinks. The appetizer came out before the drinks. We were asked to order our main meal before we had any food or drinks on the table. No explanation was given. When we received our drinks, only 3 out of 4 of us were served. The waiter either forgot the 4th person or it was just missed by the bartender. We also had to ask for 2 more plates and silverware. Waited a long time for dressing for a main meal salad. I will say, after talking to the manager the next day about our experience with the waiter, he apologized and told us to ask for him next time.
I met a few girlfriends for dinner on Sunday evening and as it was Christmas season, I made reservations. Glad I did as it was busy. Our waiter took a long time to take our order and it wasn't until our food came out that they let me know the entree I ordered was out-- I feel they could have let me know much more quickly. I ordered a second item and then 5-10 min later, the manager lets me know the kitchen ran out of that item as well. He gives me a few suggestions and I order a pasta dish with seafood. They rush it out and while it is good, I don't think it was quite what I expected as they described it as a squid ink pasta but I didn't see any squid ink in it. I didn't want to say anything at this point as my friends had finished their dinners and were waiting on me. It is worth noting they didn't charge me for my entree in an effort to make it right which I appreciated. However, service was just fairly slow given the crowds so I wouldn't recommend it if you're in a hurry.
Food was excellent. French Onion soup was the best I’ve ever had. The regular Old Fashion was top notch, cheers to the bartenders.
The Main Street Bistro has a great location in old town Grapevine. The restaurant itself is warm and welcoming with the feel of a French bistro. The service is excellent and the servers are always fun to see again. The French fare is delicious and authentic. We have tried most of the items on the menu. So far, there is nothing on the menu we wouldn’t recommend
Very long wait to get our check
This place is always on our list when we visit grapevine, the food is delicious and the wait staff try very hard to please! The tightness of the tables can be a bit taxing but just have some wine and relax! The meal never disappoints!
Slow, food was not what we requested, and manager seemed inept at his job. He even said he saw the food before it left the kitchen and knew it was wrong. I was completely surprised that he knew it was wrong and yet he allowed it to leave the kitchen.
Normally this place has always been one of my favorites. I will give it one more chance. Fingers crossed that they return to the wonderful gem I knew them to be@!
A pleasant surprise. The food was outstanding. Everything else was fine. The place was crowded and the noise level energetic. We will definately be back.
The Bistro is now called Chez Fabien. Wow, I have really loved what they have done with the place. Great service, a great bar tender with a great wine selection and the food, amazing. Even down to the herb butter with glazed balsomic vinegar for the fresh bread. Don't pass this place up...wonderful.
Always enjoy dinner here. Food is consistently wonderful!
Very disappointed in the quality of food, level of service, and price vs. quality of food. The ambiance was loud but they had an entertainer so that was expected. Our service was extremely slow, the server didn't remember our order and had to come again, and we never saw a manager or anyone else, despite ordering $100+ in wine.
We were excited about the menu, but unfortunately, the food/delivery was disappointing.
Very pleasant place, the tables were a bit close together. The couple at the table next to us was clearly listening to every word we said. Irritating but more an individual problem. The place was casual, the music wasn’t good.. I was impressed.. I also like the location there was a lot happening on that strip. I’d go back for sure.. our waiter was very good!
Service and food were great, as always!
Excellent all around-food, service and value. Love the decor and Soho vibe. Will return again and again!
What a beautiful evening ! Everything was wonderful! Music with Dav was fabulous our drinks were delicious and it was reasonable! Great date night!
Nice place for dinner if you can sit in a booth. The food is delicious but the service is pretty slow.
Fabulous food as always.
This restaurant is a terrific little gem with a cozy feel and a great menu for the exploring type. The seating areas can get crowded as the bar is a hot spot to hang out (the two are not separated). So if you want a nice quiet evening try this place on a weeknight.
We had the lobster grilled cheese sandwich and the shaved prime rib on toast with horseradish aioli. Both were magnificent. Our waitress was horribly nice and helpful even though her section was slammed. Overall great experience!
Fun, buzzy atmospere. Salads crisp and delicious. Entrees of fish, mussels and grilled cauliflower were all delicious and presented nicely. Only drawback was service - our salads arrived with the entrees so it was not relaxing to try to eat everything all at once. This also cluttered the table with too many plates to fit. Main Street is a nice place to walk before or after dinner.
We love the Bistro! Great food, but even more than that the service is wonderful! We always feel like valued guests when we dine at the Bistro!
Beautifully presented dishes! The best lobster bisque I've ever had! Fresh salads; delightful pastries and desserts- I definitely recommended taking some to go!
The food is alway so well prepared, staff is friendly and the ambiance is cozy but lively. We love to come in with a group!
It reminded me of a recent trip to Paris... the raclette (warmed brie) was amazing
