Maison Du Mezze
Started off outside and they do have heaters but got a bit too windy so we loved inside and they were more than happy to accommodate. I think some staff are more friendly than others.
Food was great, started off with hot and cold Mezze and the falafel are fantastic! Mains took a while to come so we think we were forgotten about but it did not disappoint. Couple suggestions though, there were for of us and we each had a plate of rice. Dare I say it was too much and they could have brought 2 to share. It always varies with people especially as we had eaten Mezze before but worth having the option to provide a smaller portion and people can always ask for more. The shish taouk portion was perfect and tasted great. Think we could have done with more garlic sauce for the table but not a big problem.
We were given some baklava and tea for the delay and this was appreciated by all. I hope I can return soon.
I have booka a table in advance, arrivef slightly early and was lead to my table only in less than a minute asked to be moved as right next to be was the toilets door and it smelled so bad and the toilet is attached to the kitchen serving bar?!
We wanted to leave immediately but my friend convinced me we should give the food a chance, we ordered the Humus with Shawarma and Labene , pastry filled with mince and got it with 4 smaill pitta bread.
The humus with Shawarma was no more than ok and way overpriced (meze portion for the price of £9),
The Labene tasted like it was taken from a box ( i am certain!) , the pastries were tasteless and again overpriced and the pittas were not home made and tasted like they were heated in the microwave.
Overall, we were so disappointed we decided to have our drinks acroos the square in All Bar One which was the highlight of the evening!!
Don’t fall for the good reviews, I don’t believe they are sincere.
Friendly service, nice food but music was a little loud.
Tasty plentiful and quick service despite busy but need to order veg/salad as not really included other than garnish
Very nice at the time although myself and my partner have been sick ever since and with waht we are and were we ate can only pinpoint Meze
Excellent food, execellent service. Can’t wait to go back.
Interior of restaurant was lovely with a nice cosy atmosphere and service was great. However food was underwhelming. Ordered the lamb shwarma and it was incredibly dry and the only sauce they gave was ketchup. For the pricing, food was lacking.
My son picked this restaurant from the list of places we googled as the menu options stood out for him. He thoroughly enjoyed the taste of different food from a place he’s never been before. Service was professional and also smart and very polite.
We have eaten Middle Eastern food in the U.S. and the Middle East and this compared with the best. Great service, great taste and a great meal.
Thought the overall experience was good. The staff were attentive, when they could be seen. I think possibly extra waiting staff needed as they were not generally around when required, but the staff that were there were very good
Our waiter for helpful and friendly, food was fantastic and tasted fresh. We sat outside so noise level depends on what’s happening in the Square at the time. Girlfriend had a cocktail which she loved.
We loved the food so much on our first visit we couldnt wait to go again. I stupidly ordered a wrong dish during the 2nd visit but the Manager, who happened to overhear my conversation with my family when the food arrived, brought us the correct dish immediately and free of charge plus two additional drinks for my children and he left the wrong dish with us too which we ate anyway as it was really good! The staff couldnt have been more friendly, helpful and polite and the food is absolutely wonderful. We cant wait to go back.
Was in London for a few days found this by chance. Would definitely recommend to others. Authentic Middle Eastern food, atmosphere and energy was good, service as well all very enjoyable.
Too expensive for what you get. The food was ok but portions too small. I paid 14 pounds for an Aperol Spritz and they didn’t use cava at all !!! Never again.
We did a mix of the hot and cold mezze dishes. Excellent food and very good service.
We've reserved on line one month before but they gave us a table near the door opened. The waiter hasn't been able to suggest us and he also was wrong about our order. When I signalizide him the wrong dish he apologized but did t substituted.
Food is expensive and very low quality. Not fresh, greasy and cold. Terrible experience.
Service was a little pushy - trying to clear the table before all of our party had finished eating, apart from that all was good.
Loved the food and staff. A great meal after attending a show.
Love the service, attentive & polite staff. A varied selection of food from the Middle East, beautifully presented.
Would definitely return with foodie friends who like to try Middle East cuisine.
Nice food though portions rather small and quite expensive. Also, televisions playing sport throughout restaurant which was rather disappointing.
Booking process was easy, got a confirmation by email from the manager and a call reminder as well on the day. The atmosphere was great, I loved the Ramadan decorations and Iftar menu. Staff was welcoming (both reception staff and waiters). Our waiter was attentive and did a great job (I believe it was Mohammad?).
Staff need to write down the order so they don’t make mistakes
Sitting outside on a sunny Saturday afternoon for my daughter's 25th birthday. Service was prompt, polite and friendly; food was lovely and they even sang happy birthday without being asked.
Good overall experience, food was good and service excellent. Will target again when in the area.
The service wasn’t good as the food. No smile.
Amazing food and amazing service, couldn't fault it. It is pricey but you do get what you pay for!
It was a warm summer evening and this was one of the outdoor dining areas we thought of around the area so why not. I instantly felt a little annoyed when I saw that my name was spelt wrong on the reservation list, then the waitress proceeded in taking me indoor when I have specially requested outdoor seatings. She gestured at a 4-people table after while putting down 4 menus and looked surprised when I pointed out that there were two of us only. The lunch menus were then placed in front of us despite it being the evening and the waiter has asked his manager to speak to us when we requested the a la carte menu and there was a lot of murmuring after among the waiters and waitresses while they looked at us which made us very uncomfortable. Food eventually arrived and it was disappointing. Overall, the general atmosphere has make me want to leave before food was ordered. I will not be returning to the restaurant nor recommending this to anyone. Your money will be worth more elsewhere.
I was disappointed with the food. Despite 50% of the food was very expensive even without the wine.
Visiting London and wanted something near the hotel for a decent meal. It was decent, but much like visiting Times Sq in NYC- meh food in a busy tourist location with nice decor and high prices. I was glad for the experience but wouldn’t return.
Food was good but we ordered to much as we didn’t understand the menu. Will know for next time
Excellent food, attentive and knowledgeable staff, very pleasant ambiance (though not sure about the TV though we could not see it from our seats so did not bother us). A little pricey but it is on Leicester Square and only five minute walk from theatre/cinema venues. 'Vegetarian' menu is actually Vegan so worth scanning the main menu for vegetarian dishes too.
Very enjoyable start to the evening. Would definitely go again.
Slightly expensive,my sister ordered a barcardi&coke but they brought her a coke zero which my sister pointed out she dont drink and unbelievably they only sold diet or zero coke. To be fair to the resurant though the waitress did go out and buy some coke cola but then charging £4. The staff were very attentive and the resturant was cosy+clean but expensive but I suppose it was in Leicester square
Great food and lovely attentive servers. Beautiful decor. Definitely recommend
The service was terrific and the staff was extremely accommodating. Very kid friendly. The food was delicious, particularly the hummus and other cold mezzes. Definitely recommend.
First the good stuff - Surprisingly good find for Leicester Square. Food was very good & huge portions. Would have not been too unhappy to pay full price so the 50% deal was very welcome.
However... not so good was the feeling the Opentable deal was a bit of a sham. We arrived & explained we had the OpenTable 50% off food deal. They presented us with short menus & said to choose 3 courses from it. I explained terms of the deal i.e. 50% off a la carte & minimum 2 courses. Waitresses & Waiters seemed a little confused but meal went without further hitch. Then the bill turned up & no sign of the 50% deduction. To be fair they thenapplied the reduction to most of the food bill (but their calculations were still off) , plus a strange percentage added for the service charge which didn't make sense pre or post offer deduction.
I got the feeling you need to watch out or you'll come out feeling a bit cheated, but I would try again.
Food is horrible
The service was good and the staff freindly and helpful, Although no compliants about the food which was nice we didn't think it was value for money as well as this £5 for a bottle of table water seemed very high and the wine was also expensive for what it was.
Lively place, good food and close to Leicester Square underground and attractions. Noted the comment about getting a cold blast from a door, we also experienced this so pick your table carefully. They also forgot to apply the 50% off food offer to our bill, we had to point this out, so check your bill !!
really average food which you would normally pay for no more than £10 for a main meal but because of the touristy location, really pricey for what it is and the whole thing doesn't feel authentic. The lady who served us was lovely but that was the main highlight. If you need a quick bite to eat pre-theatre then it's ok but wouldn't recommend for other occasions.
