Wow, we could not have had a better meal.
The service was everything you want it to be: professional, efficient with that little spark of fun. The food was stellar: interesting, creative and delicious. The atmosphere was bang on with the staff even providing us with our own heater as things cooled down. It's a meal we will remember for a long time and a location we would recommend to anyone!
Maison Selby always delivers. Delicious from start to finish with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend.
great experience out of lockdown, no complaints...!
We probably picked the coldest and windiest of spring days to dine out, but in view of the impending lockdown, we decided to tough it out. Under the circumstances, the experience was about as good as it could be. The servers knocked themselves out to keep us warm and comfortable, in spite of the trying weather. The food was, as usual, very good and comforting. My only gripe would be that they were out of cider. "Glühwein" might have hit the spot instead, so too bad that wasn't on the menu! All in all though: we had an enjoyable experience, and were able to turn weather-lemons into lemonade.
it was awesome. french onion whatever for lifeeee!!!!!
Very cozy patio set-up for outdoor dining during COVID. Does get a bit chilly, so I suggest bringing a blanket. The coq of vin was delicious and moist, the pain au lait was a good portion to share with the table, and the burger was cooked as I like it (medium rare). Service is excellent here and made for a very pleasant dining experience.
Really nice evening. Food and drinks were excellent and the service was top class!
Dinner was excellent... all four of us loved our choices..our server, Marame, was exceptional!...She was extremely knowledgable and very personable!
loved the food and the service, our waitress was superb. the prices are a bit steep.
Fabulous and helpful waiter— superb food- great heaters for patio
Definitely try table taster was amazing waiter made the night perfect thanks Tony!
Although it was a chilly night, we really enjoyed our evening drinks in the lovely outdoor set up. The handwarmers were a nice touch! Our drinks were excellent (highly recommend their Negronis) and the service was exceptional . We felt looked after and very safe.
Blankets are encouraged! I was next to the opening in the tent so I was freezing, my partner was warm with his back to a heater. Would be great to have blankets on the chairs as it gets colder.
The brunch menu and cocktails are delicious!
I appreciate the new Covid patio setup, it's warm & cozy although a bit dark due to plastic covering.
Our waitress, Maran, as well as the floor staff were very friendly & informative.
It's our favourite "Bubbly Brunch" spot in Toronto!
Great Ambiance and a great experience. Brunch menu has good options. Highly suggest this place.
We were happy to book at Maison Selby our neighbourhood restaurant. But we were surprised that the outdoor dining was not more sheltered. It was close to 1 degrees and the wind was howling and frankly it was uncomfortable and unenjoyable. Our meal was $650 and we could not wait to get home because we were so cold. Our little round table for
4 was way too crowded as well. We should have been told that it was really an outdoor dining experience with very little
Shelter or heat lamps when the restaurant confirmed our booking. We expected O&B to provide a similar outdoor dining experience as One at the Haselton or Bymark. The food was good but unfortunately everything else was not great.
Thomas Erica and Carlen were the best!! And always fries and French onion soup and don’t forget the best pate!!! Yum
We ordered the oignon soup, coq au vin and desserts, it was very good, service very good as well and friendly staff.
The restaurant requires credit card information to reserve a table which is not customer-centric.
Predictably, there is a 35 $ late cancelation fee. The food and service are good. The patio is very nice. Two hours of allocated dining limit is a nice bonus. I love the area, but the surroundings are not for everybody.
I really enjoyed brunch at Maison Selby! Looking forward to indoor dining again because the interior decor is gorgeous! Highly recommend the ham crepe.
The steak tartar and the French onion soup were both five stars.
We found the service very attentive.
When it is to cold to sit out side we shall most definitely be doing take out.
Awesome as always can never get enough of that French onion soup it’s the best!
Absolutely loved the food and experience and totally appreciate the team for braving the cold and providing outdoor dining on one of the coldest nights we've had so far. While there were heaters and semi-covered tents, it was VERY cold and not the most comfortable. Would definitely love to come back once indoor dining opens up again because the food was amazing for the 20 seconds we were able to eat it before it got cold.
Delicious food and great service.
The patio is a bit chilly, but manageable if you're bundled up.
Celebrating a milestone
Wonderful evening on the patio. I would definitely recommend!
It was a wonderful dinner on a patio in October. The meals were very delicious! I love French cuisine and we will definitely come back!
It’s a lovely neighbourhood place.
Always great service.
Savouring one last day outside on a patio we went to our go to place for top notch food with a great patio. Food and service was excellent as always. Cocktails were delicious. The only slight downside this time was partial installation of the patio tent meaning the only view from where I was sitting was the white tent wall beside me and a panel that as pulled back on the opposite end. I know during these times businesses want to maximize dining, but since it was a warm day I didn't expect or want to be sitting inside a tent.
Overall, it was a good experience.
Our server was incredible and authentically French. She took great pride in her service and provided a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. She also was a great upseller.
Best neighbourhoods spot. Lovely streetside patio with heaters and appropriate distancing. The staff are ready to do anything to make sure you have a great time. We shared a bottle of Chenin Blanc, duck liver parfait, French onion soup, and mushroom tagliatelle -- all outstanding. Would dine here every day if I could!
I finally got to try Maison Selby and was not disappointed at all! It is such a lovely, lovely establishment and truly amazing service. Hard to find a thoughtful, genuine, and hard working team, and amazing food and ambiance.
Unfortunately the indoor was closed so we had to sit outside. On the website it said all day menu and brunch menu. However when we got there they advised it was brunch only. Which was slightly disappointing as we had gone for my cousins birthday and she really wanted mussels for her bday lunch. It was cold that day so the staff did they best they could. The actual food was presented beautifully and was delicious. One of our servers was really nice. The decor is gorgeous so if u done outside go to the washroom and take a sneak at the gorgeous interior.
The staff were amazing and did everything they could to keep us comfortable dining outdoors even though it was so windy and cold.
Selby's patio is so beautiful & cozy! Staff have taken every precaution to ensure safe dining during COVID19. Lots of heaters around to make mid-Oct patio dining completely reasonable. Service and food are terrific. Will absolutely return & recommend.
All 3 of us loved this place! The food was delicious. Two of us had the salmon in phyllo pastry special and both of us loved it. One person had the French onion burger and commented that he thought it was the best burger he's ever had. To top it off the service was friendly, efficient and very helpful with menu suggestions. Can't wait to go back.
Went there for a birthday celebratory dinner. Everything was fantastic, including our OG waitress from Paris! It’s a beautiful venue. I would highly recommend it.
Absolutely amazing, as it always is. Tables spaced far apart make it an even more comfortable experience than it previously had been.
The food was awesome as usual, I had the French onion soup to start and coq au vin, both amazing, but be warned the soup is very very hot. Temp wise that is. My partner had the beef bourguignon which he loved. He drank his usual maison selby wit, and I had the revel farmhouse cider, which I noticed was 500ml on menu but the can that arrived was 333ml, and was still charged for 500ml, but they soon rectified this. They just need to adjust their menu if they are not serving the 500ml.
