Band in the main part was a bit noisy for our liking! However, think most people like it!
Beautiful place, lovely food and the best company ❤
Fantastic vegan burger! Great service and lovely cocktails. Always a cosy atmosphere as well.
Felt a bit cramped, otherwise fine for a breakfast meeting
The ned is always fun, the Malibu kitchen is a good place to dine for informal supper with friends or colleagues. The service could be better, we were told straight away we only had the table for 90mins. Not the most welcoming approach, we had colleagues from France who were horrified! Appreciate this is their policy but a drink first or a smile, might have been nicer approach. We ended up staying at the table for the rest of the evening, as it was not busy.
Food presented creatively and tasty but such minimal portions and no bread. I was hungry when I left. Coffee too strong. Wonderful environment for chatting.
Exactly what we wanted. High quality, interesting food in a buzzy environment.
The food was great and I don’t mind the loud, bustling atmosphere but I’m not a big fan of the cafeteria style seating or perching on an uncomfortable bar stool for an entire meal. I probably wouldn’t return unless I could guarantee a proper table next time to be honest.
Always wonderful breakfast, polite and helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Also, probably the best coffee I have tried in London!
£16 burger might have been delivered from McDonalds and fries were dry and not tasty. My colleague's food was no better.
First the positives. The champagne glasses were gorgeous and the venue is stunning. The food was ok. Now the negatives... we wanted champagne but were told we could only have Prosecco. It was horrible. None of us could finish our glasses. The service was very slow. The noise from the rock band was too much. Needing to give the table back after 1.5 hours is a ridiculous policy. I’ve never felt more like a commodity in my life. All in all a very disappointing affair. We’d usually go to The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant at Royal Exchange and we wished we hadn’t changed. Recommendations. Change the 1.5 hour table time allocation, speed up the service, offer champagne if desired (there are enough bars to get some from). Get a jazz ensemble to create an ambience. Look after your diners.
Great vegan options and healthy
I've been there once before and the service was at least unmemorable - this time we both felt like we'd done something to upset the waitress. She was impatient, huffed and slammed down the plates. I'm assuming she just had a bad day, but she kind of ruined breakfast for us. Besides that, I like that Malibu Kitchen is brighter than the rest of the restaurants in the Ned. The food was nice as well, expensive for ordinary food but that's expected given the place.
Food is great although I found that sitting on the stools very uncomfortable. The staff kindly moved us into a table once available. Noise level is high but not too bad compared to other restaurants in the hall.
Food was really average and not up to the usual 'Ned' quality. My fish tacos were really watery because of the papaya slaw and my sweet potato fries were stone cold. My fellow diner had the cheeseburger which looked fairly average though we were both confused as to how it was named a potato burger when it seemed like a regular brioche bun?
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, what’s not to love!
A bit loud and crowded but good energy and good food. Waitstaff was very nice. Their was good healthy food. We really liked the chicken and cod. Good wellness shots in place of dessert.
SErvice and food was lovely. We were told we only had 1.5 hour but stayed for many many hours which was lovely! We weren't happy with the long shared table and held out for a booth which I would only ever sit in as the long tables are cramped and uncomfortable.
I was disappointed with my visit due to the very poor service. At times there weren’t enough staff but even once lots of the customers had left, the service continued to be poor with the staff chatting away while I tried to get their attention. While the food was nice, it wasn’t as good as normal.
Great food great service
Great food and good service. Was the only restaurant in The Ned that was quiet which made the ambience a little odd.
Really good food, wide selection of options for raw, vegan, veg, fish and carnivore to all enjoy. Like the space which is to the side of the huge bar area. Casual yet stylish. Very atmospheric.
Taco Tuesday was great. Really fab value for money and everything was delicious.
Amazing food as always
Arranged to meet my sister for lunch as we work close to each other in London. We were seated along a long bench with very limited space and it was really noisy. I ordered a salad from the main menu and found it to be smaller than most salads starters in other establishments. I ended up grabbing a sandwich from the supermarket on my way back to the office! Over priced, cramped and noisy. We won’t be returning.
We specifically requested a booth table a week in advance as my family . I arrived for the waitress to inform me that someone has been in twenty minutes earlier to request a booth table and that she had given it to them. I said that she should have told them it had already been reserved a week in advance and she said there was nothing she could do - even though the guest had booked a table for later than our reservation. The waitress was extremely unapologetic and rude and gave no reason for giving the table we specifically requested away. We eventually were sat at cecconis but were told we could only be sat there for forty minutes. Terrible service.
Lovely. Would definitely go back. Well worth it. However £24.95 for two Gin & Tonics for the bar outside the restaurant was a disappointment.
I booked the Malibu Kitchen as my sister in law was visiting from up north and is vegan. My husband and I have been to The Ned a few times and loved it. Unfortunately not the warmest reception when we arrived. I did request a booth when booking as I’m 6 months pregnant but we were sat in the middle section on stools. We went with the taco set menu which was pretty good, the chocolate cake was by far the best part! Our waitress wasn’t the friendliest (maybe having a bad day) but did help with my husbands egg allergy letting him know what he could and couldn’t have. Overall a bit underwhelming although the setting itself in The Ned is fantastic.
Tasty food, but overpriced - paying for the venue. Maitre d’ was pinickity about seating - booked a table for two but ended up having a friend join, so we’re moved to the sharing table - told we had a strict 1.5 hours, but it wasn’t busy and didn’t get busy, so didn’t matter in the end.
Lovely server, attentive to us all evening.
A nice place to take someone for an occasion/someone who is visiting London.
Beautiful setting with exquisite food!
Great service and quality of food.
Maybe the many could have more options. I felt I was too small
Over priced poor quality food. Terrible staff could not get rid of us quickly enough
I thought the Tuesday tacos deal was great value for money. The portion sizes were good and there were lots of options catering for all. It has a great ambience too with the live music from the main banking hall. Overall, really enjoyed it.
The Ned is a beautiful venue, and so is this place, if a little set back from the action. Staff were very keen to remind us that the table was only ours for 1.5 hours which changed the mood a bit. We tried the Taco Tuesday menu which is good value and the food very nice, otherwise would be quite pricey.
I dont like being seated on the central bench opposed to the booths I've historically sat at
Very healthy food. Felt really light when leaving. Which is good.
The food was the only good part of the experience and even then we had to send one dish back as the salad leaves still had mud on them. Very poor service and as it was quiet no one even bothered to check we were ok. We were celebrating two birthdays and told the server who made no comment. Drinks took forever to come.
Great atmosphere especially with live music on a Thursday evening. Food and service was great too.
Great food and service but maybe the music can’t be lower a bit. It was very difficult to have a proper conversation without shouting across the table.
Went on a Thursday night. Incredible building/decor, lovely food and nice service. ..But far too noisy!!!
