A hidden gem is how Mallams is often described, but you can find it on Weymouth's historic harbourside. Set in a beautiful Grade II listed building with Tudor beams and stone walls, the restaurant has recently been restyled with a modern, nautical feel.
Local suppliers provide the restaurant with the very best produce the West Country has to offer and this now includes many drinks suppliers who are producing amazing offerings including, gin, vodka, beer, cider and wine.
When you arrive you will be offered our drinks menu to get your evening off to a flying start, then all you need to do is sit back and relax and let our experienced team front and back of house take care of you

Mallams Ratings and Reviews
Special event put on by Mallams to highlight Dorset Sea Salt. Interesting short talk, followed by set menu - very enjoyable food, even though would not normally have been first choice from the menu. Salt cod fritter was delicious, as was the belly pork. The dessert was a little too rich and salty for me.
A really nice friendly restaurant - we will definitely be going back. They do great cocktails to kick off. We went for the 3 course set menu as it mostly had what we were going to eat anyway. This meant we got an essentially free desert and opted for the Mallam's Pudding. This was delicious but, be warned, it will probably put you over the driving alcohol limit. A real find!
Lunch was our second visit to Mallams - not disappointed at all. The set lunch menu had everything we needed. Starters of smoked mackerel pate was excellent, as I am advised were the mussels. We both had the same main , the fish of the day. Brill fillet was absolutely 'brill'. Wines were well recommended to go with these courses and dessert wine with the chocolate fondant and strawberries also went together well.
We will return.
A great find whilst on a mini break in the Weymouth area, the food was excellant and beautifully presented. Service was great and bar tenders knowledge of cocktails and drinks was amazing. A cocktail filled with alcohol rather than juice. Highly recommend and to be sure you are not disapointed I would book.
Great location, good atmosphere, fantastic service from friendly staff who did not talk down to us, no pressure to buy anything in particular , everyone was very helpful. The food was wonderful. It is quite expensive but we felt it was worth it. The ingredients all seemed very fresh, the flavours delicate but absorbing, the wine was delicious (we did choose just about the cheapest bottle!). After a wonderful and healthy fish meal we splurged on the Mallams Pudding which is divine. I would definitely go back for a special occasion.
Mallams is in a lovely place it is quite small so booking I would say is advised if you do not want to sit in the back area of the restaurant. The management were helpful and honored the 10% discount we had expected as advertised in our B&B which was the restaurant management said was years out of date. The food was very tasty I would say that charging a £1 extra with the seafood casserole to have three small slices of bread, was disappointing. Everything else was very nice tasty, I would have liked to have more seafood options on the menu considering they are on the harbor side. Also when I booked via Open Table I requested a table in the window, which the restaurant said they did not know about. As it happened we were given a table in the window, but I would have been very disappointed if we had not been able to sit where I'd requested as this was booked a week ago. I would go again.
Lovely restaurant on the waterfront. We had a table by the window and a waiter who was very knowledgeable. Of course the menu is "fish heavy" and all locally sourced. The fish casserole was delicious as well as the gurnard and turbot. All beautifully prepared and presented. They make their own bread and desserts which were wonderful. It was a very relaxed atmosphere but definitely for a special meal as the bill can quickly rack up....but it was worth it! Weymouth lucky to have this fine restaurant.
We were impressed by this cosy and intimate restaurant that overlooks Weymouth Harbour. The food and cocktail menus were interestingly presented in hard cover book form and had some excellent selections of food and drink. The starters and mains were well presented and beautifully cooked and the deserts were delicious. Everything was lovely but the Ladies needs a mirror! Would definitely go there again.
Had a meal at Mallams in Weymouth on Friday night. Absolutely outstanding. The food easily equalled what I've eaten in Michelin starred restaurants at a fraction of the price. The guinea fowl in particular was divine. There is an excellent, intelligently chosen wine list which will have something that appeals to everyone and the separate aperitifs menu to start was a nice touch. Impeccable service. Beautiful view of the old harbour. Excellent record on sourcing local foods also. 5*
