Pronounced ‘mum’ and referring to the art of fermentation, the menu focuses on skewered meat cooked on a robata grill. The skewers predominantly feature cuts of chicken, but the kitchen also showcases weekly specials such as rare-breed beef and seafood. Served sharing style with rice noodle parcels, chopped veg, colourful pickles, an abundance of fresh Vietnamese herbs, lettuce leaves and rice paper wrappers, diners are encouraged to choose their own way of eating them.
The light, airy 40-cover restaurant, divided between a bar area at the front and dining room conservatory at the back, also offers a refined cocktail menu.
Poor food and poor service . Shortage of food and drinks .
the food is fantastic especially the short rib just a lovely place to go and eat.
Really nice and helpful staff. Odd to have a huge dog in this small restaurant at a busy dinner time meal.
Really nice local restaurant with service from people who seem to care about their work and the place. Short and quite simple menu but all done well. There should have been a few photos but it all looked so good we had started eating before we thought about pictures!
Having had the most marvellous Pho in Vietnam and in Berlin, this was bland and disappointing by comparison, but the chicken spring rolls were excellent. I might return to try some of the other dishes but sadly, would not have Pho here again, which is a shame as it was one of my very favourite dishes
Not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. A beautiful blend of classic and fusion menu items. There was not loads to choose from, but the menu has just the right amount of items to make a superb evening. Recommend a try.
Copious amounts of delicious, authentic Vietnamese food! The staff were friendly, the food was plenty, and we were all merry. Thank you! Can't wait to return.
Very good food. What can I say, value for taste and great service. I couldn’t reduce the stars / rating anywhere. I tried, critically
The food was delicious and exactly what I was looking for - fresh and tasty. The staff were a little quiet and not overly friendly, but they definitely were not rude in any way. I would thoroughly recommend and will be going back myself :-)
Except for the waiter forgetting our drinks order, (which can happen everywhere), and the sticky floors (please, change the water of your bucket more often !!) the food was excellent. Very fresh, very tasty. Excellent dumplings, which sauce was to die for.
All was good other than the bill was wrong with a dish added that never came, so that was annoying but it was a nice evening. Quite pricey for a local eatery with simple dishes but we had a good evening overall.
Great food, good atmosphere and very good value for money. Nice place to lounge and have a chat with friends. The spot near the window is amazing.
Tried MAM for the first time this weekend.. we booked a table and were seated just a bit early when we arrived. The skewer platter was delicious, spicy dumplings and the rice bowl also fantastic. We also had rare beef pho... it was really good quality, generous meat portion and nice flavor though it needed more salt. Also, no mint or basil served with it... next time, will ask for herbs and chili’s and think it will be better. Overall, nice service, good modern vibe, excellent food—the spicy pepper margarita was fantastic! Love that this is in our neighborhood—we’ll be eating here often.
Superb, fresh, zingy Vietnamese in the heart of Notting Hill. As someone who has travelled to Vietnam on a regular basis, it brought me right back there. We'll be back!
Great atmosphere with a table at the front with Open windows . Whilst the food was overall was very good, one or two of the dishes could have been better. Overall a great experince.
Really nice restaurant for lunch, food is good and a reasonable price too. Service was friendly - my only point is that I was told I couldn't have a cocktail because there was no bartender, but could see from my seat a guy behind the bar making a cocktail about 5 mins later...
Amazing chicken wings, salmon, beef short rib and dumplings. Would highly recommend. Didn’t enjoy the sesame crackers but overall excellent :-)
Superb and cheap food .
The kitchen turn down making an ekstra springrolle and the bar closed 21.
The most delicious Vietnamese food I've eaten outside Vietnam!
A wonderful little place that serves up tasty Vietnamese bbq which was an absolute treat and lovely addition to the Notting Hill foody scene
Beef skewers tough.
Ordered sparkling water at dinner 7pm - took some time before they came back to say they ran out
Fried chicken v good
Really can’t recommend it enough. Such a nice space and the food is amazing.
The food was tasty and portions were generous. Cocktails were great too. Only complaint we have was with the Banh Hoi platter. The “steamed rice vermicelli sheets” are literally sheets of noodles that you’re somehow supposed to use to create a wrap with the other ingredients. They failed miserably, as we expected. It would be far better to use an actual wrap for that dish (something like the rice paper sheets used for summer rolls perhaps).
Amazing and great food and service
Nice decor and trendy layout the price is fair. My only gripe was the seating for two; the seats are perched up high and against the wall. I felt more like an ornament on a shelf rather that a patron having dinner.
The staff are warm, friendly and very accommodating.
If you have a "sensitive" seafood allergy they did state that it's possible that the increments may have "touched" but you won't find any fish in your meat dish; you'll have to decide if this is OK for you.
I can recommend the "Fish Sauce Wings", very crispy and succulent.
I would definitely recommend! Pretty little restaurant in a lovely spot in Notting Hill. Food was also delicious. I did struggle to get through on the phone about the timing of my reservation beforehand, this may be something that needs to be checked out? Other than that, perfect. Thanks for a great lunch.
Loved loved loved this restaurant, food was a dream. The waitress was great a bit rushed off her feet but did her best. Deffo go back!
Table was booked a month before but was disappointed it was not comfortably seating for 5 people.
really delicious, good staff, really beautiful inside
great food, great atmosphere. Will def recommend to anyone who fancies this type of cuisine.
Not your standard Vietnamese restaurant - the food is innovative, well prepared, with lots of fresh ingredients. Lovely staff and a congenial, attractive setting. When in town, we go weekly. I have recommended it to friends.
food and flavours amazing !!!! i would recommend this restaurant strongly
One of my favourite restaurants in London! Food is insane as are the cocktails and amazing music being played!
Delicious food, especially loved the beef kebabs. Relaxed atmosphere, would definitely go back.
Overall quite nice spoilt, spoilt by the bill landing on the table before we had finished the meal.
The banh hoi was absolutely outstanding!! We paired with 2 kinds of beef and the pork shoulder, mmmm too good.
Only disappointed with the pho bo, too much lemongrass, over powering the whole bowl.
MAM lived up to and exceeded our expectations all the dishes tried were not overly complex but all were nicely presented and tasted delicious. The cracker was bland on its own but combined with the Tamarind sauce changed it beyond recognition, the spring rolls and pancake full of flavour and the BBQ skewers rounded things off and the meal offered excellent value
Fantastic as always!!
What was good: the food is tasty and the restaurant is well laid out. The atmosphere is good and even when it is busy it doesn’t get too loud to hear each other.
What is bad: the menu is a little confusing and you don’t really get much help trying to understand it. The service is so slow, it’s wasn’t very busy and yet everything took an age and we had to ask many times for someone to take our order or for things we had ordered to be brought.
For 2 people it is probably a good place to go, the food is tasty when you work out how to order some. For anything more than 2 it’s not great.
The food was good but a little more expensive than what I felt it was worth. The table had trees in the middle of the table that disrupted our conversation and made it very awkward. The service was poor and they forgot one of the orders. And being near the door was annoying with people coming in and leaving the door open letting a cold draft in. This meant we had to constantly get up and close it. I would go again but insist on a different table.
