The service was very good, kudo's for the staff. The food was not good at all, it was not authentic Indonesian, I was very dissapointed. I am a passionate cook and very knowledgable about the Indoneaison cuisine, but this was not authenic Indonesian. Any take away Indonesian in Amsterdam is much better.
The food was really not bad, such a nice ambiance. The service was impeccable, we've had a kid with us and the staff was so attentive to his needs.
It was very good, the food was very tasty and lovely served. The atmosphere was lovely, all in all it was a great dinner.
Should have done more research on the restaurant. After booking a meal at Sampurna last night, we really wanted Indonesian food again. This was no worth it. The chef should visit Sampurna for a few lessons.
We had the same vegetarian chef combo recommendation. The flavors were flat and just not that appetizing.
We have booked literally hundreds of meals through OpenTable and this was a disappointment.
I was very disappointed with this meal. The restaurant itself is nice; it's comfortable and not too noisy. The service, however, was extremely poor. When we were seated no one brought us menus - we eventually had to go get them ourselves. Others who were seated after us had food coming out way before us. The food itself was fine. But it wasn't very hot and certainly was not worth the money as it was quite basic. We wanted to see dessert/drinks menus after our main course and were once agin left waiting. We had to go to the register to ask for our bill after not receiving any service for quite some time. I wouldn't revisit or recommend.
Great hospitality but we expected more grom the menu. It was okay, but we've had better
Half of what we ordered was fantastic, the other half...not so much, we know indonesian food quite well and definetly some of our selection lacked substance.
However the restaurant decor is beautiful and the service was quick and very attentive.
We arrived 15 minutes after our booking time and received a cool reception. The food tasted great, the waiter gave good service. Overall it was a pleasant restaurant with tasty food at a reasonable price.
Could be more attention to their guests. Price/quality was bad.. Soto good, nasi goreng & Rendang was not authentic Indonesian. Design of restaurant was amazing.
Been there with friends. Had a high expectation because of the great ambiance. But the food was tasteless and overpriced.
Ok food, reasonable price, nice ambience / decoration.
Normal resturant great design
the food wasnt thats good the shrimp was frozen
They have a good decoration but they need to close the street views and make the music littel loud and it would be perfect
Great place that breathes modern and cosy dining, whilst offering the comfort of Indonesian cuisine
The Place is pleasent and the service is very good, but the food is nothing to write home about.
We tried the rice table and it was nice to try different dishes. Some of the dishes were nice. Most of them were ok or not so good.
Quite disappointing, especially after reading such good reviews. And definitly not worth the high price. Sorry...
I have came to quite some indonesian restaurants in the netherlands. and I found that menu Nasi goreng is the best in the Netherlands. It recalls me about my home country. The taste is so Indonesia! Everyone must try.
Soto madura is good but the soup is a bit thin. Grilled fish dabu dabu is also nice...it is not spicy, i would have order more spicy one next time (if it is possible).
But for you who dont like spicy, it is recommended.
The sambal that they serve with krupuk is not that typical indonesian sambal... and I wish I can find terasi next time there
Lovely Restaurant with delicious Reistafel and moderate prices. Beer was also good :)
We had a nice evening and can recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Quality is variable, last experience recently (out of four) significantly below par.
Will not return soon.
the food was not good. It had nothing to do with Indonesian food. The tastes were even and uneventful. It was a big disappointment and we did cross you of our list
Interesting space and open kitchen with very good Indonesian food. Service was OK but nothing special even during a slow period before the evening rush. For a hotel restaurant it was a very nice change and a very good meal. Early diners get a 20% discount and the 2nd diner’s Rijsttafel charge is half before 18:30
I don’t have much experience with Indonesian food. What I had was excellent
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff but food was very disappointing. We were hoping for a good Indonesian experience, however the food was plain and missing the Indonesian flavor completely.
If you want real Indonesian food, don't go here! Plenty of restaurants in Amsterdam that serve significantly better food.
I did not have the impression everything was cooked fresh... I think they put everything in the microwave to warm up before they serve it... Of all the Indonesian Restaurants I've been too this was not the best...
Food was tasty and perfect! The place looked amazing! The people were kind and the service was on point.
The food was bland for Indonesian cuisine. Portions were not value for money. Was in a group of 8 people and we ordered 8 dishes to share, it was not enough. Would have ordered 2 extra dishes and 4 additional portions of rice. Deeply disappointed in the "authentic" experience since through their social media and online campaigns they kept saying they had an actual Indonesian chef, but the food was poor in taste, overall very bland. Although the stand outs were the Chicken Opor and Rendang. The Rendang had a very tender texture but flavor and portion could be better. Opor was on point on flavor, but a very small portion. My overall experience of this is that this restaurant had a great ambience and vibes, but failed poorly on flavor and value for money. A white washed Indonesian restaurant. If you don't like spicy food and food with strong flavors, this is the perfect restaurant for you.
Dutch waitress was a shame! Food nothing special, two starters tasteless (chicken, tuna), lontong to spicy. Cocktails, ambiance ok.
Lekker rijsttafel voor 2 personen gegeten in een mooi modern indonesisch restaurant . Erg mooi ingericht. Wel behoorlijk prijzig (4 eu voor een glas fris en 6,50 voor een glas wijn).
A great restaurant with beautiful food and outstanding, friendly service from the staff. A must visit restaurant.
This is a great place for and introduction to Indonesian cuisine. Very sensitive to American guests, as it's attached to an American hotel chain. Go here for dinner.
The food was very delicious. Ambiance was great. Nice music at the background. And the people are very kindfull
Nice venue. Service could improve, feels like a lot of unexperienced. Food was well flavoured and enough in quantity. Cocktails where nice.
Varied menu, with spicy and not spicy food. Very original. Not the cheapest, but it is worth it!
Super. Gerne wieder.
A lover of Indonesian food, I was happy to find this new Gem in Amsterdam. Mama Makan is part if the Hyatt Hotel, but it’s not your average “hotel restaurant”. It’s much cosier and less buisiness-like than that. The decoration and atmosphere are very nice and the food is great. We had the Rice table which was served in 4 courses. The flavors were teriffic and they even did their utmost best to make it less spicy for my partner. We really enjoyed it. The two ladies that served us in the restaurant were very friendly and took their time for us. We will definitely be back soon!
Price/ quality was out of order. The food was not heated by "resots" The ambience is okay.
The service is poorly, only foreign ( I think Russian) waitresses. I wouldn't advicse it to my friends. It was an event we will not repeat. I'm sure I will never visit this restaurant again.
Food was really delicious! The rice table was good value for money. Great variety of dishes.
Ambiance is also great!
Delicious and original food; very good service. Good ambiance.
Great food, great staff and great ambiance!
