Het eten is niet van goede kwaliteit. Rendang smaakte goed alleen vol keiharde grote stukken vlees.
Attended for the brunch. The service was great. Welcoming at the door, quick to remove empty plates and refill wine glasses. The waitress we had was friendly and talkative. The food was decent. Great for a buffet style and what was nice was the kitchen had an open view to diners which is always reassuring. I would recommend trying the Bali brunch for a switch up on normal brunch.
Style is not 100% traditional but with a twist. Did not find traditional Indonesian dishes with authentic flavor. This might be ok for someone trying Indonesian food the first time but not for someone who is familiar with authentic Indonesian food taste.
Qualiy and quantity below normal and definitely below expectations
Great looking place, awesome Indonesian food. The saté, omg. Even just the nasi goreng was one of the best ones I’ve had ever. Perfect, would come here again any time.
The service was very polite, but unfortunately the quality of food was not the best for the price we paid.
Unfortunately your typical hotel restaurant food
I am quite familiar with Indonesian food, both in Indonesia as in the Netherlands. The food @Mama Makan was just okay, not very memorable. Won't be going back.
Took the vegetarian appetizer and dinner (springrolls/tofu), but taste was a bit plain and simple. I know several Indonesian 'Toko's' in Amsterdam that will serve more tasty vegetarian food. Place looks amazing though and service is great.
Friendly atmosphere. Great food. We had the special tasting menu. Well presented, delicious food. Too much for me but good value.
We had an amazing experience for our New Year's Eve dinner, a lot of different dishes to taste, many we wouldn't have thought we liked but .. we actually did :)
Service was excellent (many french speaking waitresses) and ambiance pretty nice for that special night.
Thank you again for this moment,
Superb in every way. We had the tasting banquet and was delighted with the different flavours. We left after eating way too much and the bill was more than reasonable.
The meal was very good. Unfortunately the service wasn’t quite up to the standard of the food. Basically not enough staff and everyone was very busy.
We had the rijstafel - which was excellent. Standout dishes were chicken satay, chicken curry, prawns, pal choi and fish.
I can recommend the chianti.
Would go back when we are next in Amsterdam, when there will hopefully be more staff.
I really liked the food. Missed a little bit more vegetables!
Food was OK but not enough authentic. Service was good and rather efficient.
Amazing Christmas experience!!! 😍
We were with two persons and there was to many food; that's a shame. Thereby the food was not that great; the flavour was not always spot on.
Very Nice restaurant, an indo toko at a modern and luxerious level. The food is very authentic and tasted Great.
Top, lekker eten en een leuke relaxte sfeer. Leuk om een meergangen menu voor meerdere personen te nemen.
We had a pleasant evening.
Some of the Dishes where great, some I found dissapointingly low in taste compared to indonesia. Food was also not steaming hot. Perhaps heat the plates and the serving bowls? Service was good.
Rather disappointing evening on the 30/11/18.
Website, pictures and reviews looked great online and on Instagram, and we were excited to try it out.. however;
1) When we arrived there was no one to greet us at the entrance, no offering to help with hanging up jackets.
2) Waiters were rushed and seemed unorganized, not much attention given.. no nice conversation. We waited a while to even get a menu.
3) The food was below average, the nasi goreng was presented on a big plate but a small portion. The rest of the plate was filled with Kroepoek (oriental chips) (From a packet!) and a measly little salad to fill the emptiness. A proper Indonesian restaurant will make home made Kroepoek.
4) Ordered chicken satay but they got the order wrong and brought us a different dish.. so we cancelled and left shortly after.
5) Ordered 1 vegetarian spring role for 3,50EUR which for the price was small, bland and nothing special.
6) On a positive note the decor is very nice.
Do yourselves a favor and have a proper Indonesian somewhere else, the nicest looking places don't always deliver quality.
Good food an very pretty restaurant. Price of food and wine was quite high though.. would still recommend it
It's a very place. It looks vibrant and hip. I've eaten here twice now.
The first time I really loved the rice table. However this second time, the rice table fell a bit short. The quality of the food and the flavors weren't as impressive as before. Maybe they had an off-night. But it was a pitty.
Service was good in the beginning, then they totally forgot us for the rest of our dinner, we asked twice for a bottle a water and it never came. Food is dull, the only dish we liked is the satay chicken. Nasi goreng is not the same Foch u eat in Bali. Disappointing and prices to expensive for what u get
Nice Restaurant, good Service, good Food, good Price !
But avoid the bar because the barmaid doesn't know her job and the price of the drinks are way to high !
Very nice. Nice food, nice people. Indonesisch met net even een beetje meer.
Amazing service throughout, especially as it was booked for a birthday.
The food was incredible and authentic tasting.
You could see the kitchen and the cooks preparing your food which added to the authenticity.
I would recommend anyone to come here who is interested in Indonesian cuisine.
Tasteless food prepared with mediocre ingredients. Dishes arrived cold. Not Indonesian food at all. By far the worst indonedisn restaurant experience in The Netherlands.
We booked a table at 19:30, when we arrived there was no table ‘available’ even though many table were empty!
Definitely will not go back.
Too much tables in a small area. Couldnt sit relaxed. Lot of noise. Food was ok, not authentic.
I love this resturant.. this is my second time here and I highly recommend it.
I liked all the meals I ordered except the chicken chili salad wasn’t that good.
Great Food and friendly staff! Waiting time between meals was bit longer than usual but acceptable.
We were 10min late for the lunch and it was past kitchen closure time but they were kind to let us in and enjoy the meal without any trouble. Also they are very friendly with baby and children.
The restaurant setting is beautiful and the rijstafel is very generous. We had some delay with the food because a waiter got confused about the order but the rest was amazing.
We were only in Amsterdam for a few days and wanted to make the most of our visit. We had heard the reputation the city has her grade Indonesian cuisine. We asked around and read some reviews and chose Indonesian kitchen. From the minute we walked in we knew it was going to be a good choice. Small and cozy great atmosphere. And greeted by a really friendly staff. They answered all her questions about the menu and everything we ordered was incredible. We ordered some vegetarian and some meat dishes. And there is not one bad thing I can say about this experience. When you’re in Amsterdam I would not hesitate to recommend this place it’s amazing. We are still talking about it
Very good food, excellent service and beautiful decoration. I recommend totally this great place
Lovely ambient and a great recommendation for everyone wanting to enjoy some deliscious Indonesian cuisine.
The food, rijsttafel, is great. What annoys me is, that no one speaks dutch...makes me feel that it is not really meant for people from Amsterdam...
But everyone is very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is well done, makes it fit for small groups and for more intimate dining and lunch.
Only English speaking staff, not paying much attention. Food is good, but overpriced.
The rice table for 2 never disappoints. Also a vegetarian option which is nice.
My girl and I had a great time! We had the rice table and Wine Pairing. De food was delicious and the wine tasted great with all dishes. We surely will come back for more.
