Situated in the heart of traditional harbour village Solva, MamGu Welshcakes don't just sell traditional and alternative welsh cakes hot off the griddle but is also a warm, welcoming and cosy Welsh cafe. Our menu serves a delicious twist on old Welsh dishes, with Welsh Rarebit, Cawl, and Crempogs to name a few and of course you can expect all the classic cafe favourites. The MamGu kitchen is proud to source almost all ingredients locally as possible.

When visiting us you instantly feel what MamGu Welshcakes is about: family, togetherness, laughing, relaxing and open arms - this paired with the idea to teach visitors about the welsh culture and to push its boundaries blend for a truly memorable experience.     Park at Solva Harbour car park. There is a small fee to pay during the high season but you can also go for a walk to the lime kilns, walk the coastal path, enjoy the boats in the harbour aswell as wondering along the gorgeous high street looking at the independent shops.

    Lovely interior homely and cosy. Just opened first thing in morning so i was only one in cafe. Food came swiftly. Lots on menu to choose from. Tasty and I bought a variety of welshcakes to take home. Lots of different flavours to try. Friendly staff, quite chatty to each other behind scenes so bit noisy I guess 🤣 but happy vibe.

    We always visit Mamgus every time we are in Solva but would recommend booking as very popular. We ordered breakfast for four and service was quick. Superb quality, I had the veggie breakfast, beautiful and the savoury Welsh cake was delicious.

    Love this cafe. Whether it's a coffee, cake or breakfast the food is always fab. The staff are polite and friendly, and the cafe has a lovely relaxed feel.

    Absolute must to book in the holiday season, but we had a lovely table at the back for breakfast as requested due to our nosy dog. Food and service was fab and we hope to be back. :)

    The food, as usual, was outstanding with an interesting and varied menu that caters for all ages and tastes. It is our favourite place year round and is an eagerly anticipated destination for all of our family when they visit. The family tradition is breakfast at MamGu’s but this has grown to lunch and coffee stops too and no visit is complete without a fabulous box of Welshcakes to go! I highly recommend this superb cafe.

    As usual a lovely breakfast with interesting menu choices. . Staff are friendly and welcoming Because of the nature of the building , it is a little noisy and the tables a little cramped, so may not be to everyone’s liking. Will be going back.

    This place is good but the service was very slow, the food was ok but admittedly the Welsh cakes were amazing but everything else was lacking unfortunately. I appreciate they were super busy but some attention to us would have been nice. I would say buy the Welsh cakes as takeaway & enjoy on the beach.

    My first visit as a diner and it will most definitely not be my last. Friendly staff serving the most delicious vegetarian breakfast I have ever eaten. The halloumi was the star ⭐️

    The best breakfast in Pembrokeshire. We chose to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary there as it is our favourite eatery. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food is superb. We can never leave without taking lots of boxes of their lovely Welshcakes.

    The table was marked with our name . It was a good atmosphere. The staff were helpful and polite. The food was tasty and well presented. Coffee very good so we bought a bag to take home.

    100% will be back to visit whenever I'm in the area. I was lucky enough to book so I wasn't disappointed by them not having space for me. Lovely spot for me to read while I waited for my food, which was delicious. Breakfast that comes with cheese and leek welshcakes... winner!! The girls were all lovely, and of course purchased some goodies to takeaway too!

    Not bad. Lovely breakfast. A slight air of complacency about the place. Weird to have to order from the counter having reserved! Takeaway cinnamon Welsh Cakes were a tad dry, didn't remind me of grandma's classics! When in Solva you must support this young business. Dog friendly too which is great for us.

    First visit to MamGu during a New Year break to Pembrokeshire, lovely location in Solva. Nice and cosy and lovely menu, difficult to choose what to have! Decided on soup which was hot and came with a hot cob. 2 of the people I was with had Welsh Rarebit which looked equally as good! The choice of Welsh cakes it amazing! Had a mince pie flavour and also a Bakewell tart one and when warmed they are gorgeous! Despite being busy the staff were friendly and efficient. We were glad to have prebooked a table! Would definitely return!
