Manhattan Grill at the London Marriott Hotel Canary Wharf
Choice of steaks is very limited for a place advertising itself as a steak house. Since I was quite hungry, I asked for a medium T-Bone, which was the only cut of meat on the menu above 10oz. in weight. I got a cold piece of meat that looked medium from outside but was completely red inside, and this was the first serious red flag. However, the point of cooking was not the main problem. The meat was tough and chewy at an unacceptable level. Sides were nice.
Service was fine but too aggressive in pouring unwanted water and wine (had to stop them twice).
Price was below average but this doesn't fix the problem.
Waitors and waitresses were so so lovely and so was the food .
First time there and will definitely be going back again seeing we are moving to Canary Wharf! Had a business dinner and the service was great the food even better. Felt quiet and very welcoming. Staff were very friendly but not intrusive. Great place
Food was great but we waited for it
Had another chopped salad and then a wonderful steak. The garlic bread was boring and dry but everything else was great. Excellent service.
The three of us went to lunch at the Manhattan Grill at 12pm. It was surprisingly quiet for a Thursday. We were the only people there and when we left just after 1pm, only three tables were taken. Overall impression is that the food was acceptable, service sketchy for such a quiet day. The clam chowder was not creamy as I expected but a clear broth with bacon, celery and a few clams. We all ordered medium rare steaks for our main course. Mine with medium well done but the other two were fine. The chips were outstanding. Afterwards tea came without cup and saucer which arrived after a couple of reminders.
Really Good Food- Great lunch Venue & a good bar attached!
Sat outside on the small terrace on this sunny September lunchtime. Manhatten Grill were offering a special 2 course lunch for £15 which we thoroughly enjoyed, choosing the Clam Chowder followed by an 8oz Rib Eye Steak which was beautifully cooked to order. We shared good fries and an excellent side salad.
Lovely restaurant on the ground floor of the Marriott Hotel in Canary Wharf. Great ambiance, excellent food - the steaks are OUTSTANDING! The service can be a little too intrusive but overall a great restaurant for all occasions. I can highly recommend. The TT £15 two course deal must not be missed!
This is a nice, but often overlooked restaurant in West India Quay. Replacing the fish restaurant Curve, The Manhatten Grill has a menu which is probably not more appealing to local businessmen and hotel guests. The special offer was excellent and although the menu was very limited (only 2 starters and desserts) there were enough tempting options to choose from. We had very good steaks, and the staff were happy to substitute for sauces not on the set menu. Wine is on the expensive side though - it cost £16 for a large glass of red! It's a lovely-looking restaurant and the staff are excellent - it was just a shame the place was so quiet on a Saturday night. Definitely one I would recommend.
Good food, great value (with the top table offer), would definitely be coming back.
the food was quite good and the atmosphere very nice
I took my friend here for her birthday and the food was great, the service was wonderful and we had a great time. The meal pricey so not cheap! but it was a birthday treat for my friend so it was worth it!
Food was stunning, atomspere was great but the service was outstanding. Had a great romanic lovely night.
This is now my 3rd time (twice in 2 days). Exceptional offer for 2 or 3 courses, but most of all, the food is excellent with very attentive staff.
My 2nd time since it reopened. Great food, wonderful staff, with this offer it was incredible value for money. Highly recommended.
The Manhattan Grill has replaced the Curve restaurant and now offers premium steak dishes that can be expensive but you get what you pay for - top quality. However, this weekend I took up the special offer from toptable of 2 courses for £15 for 3 courses for £18. I did not expect much at this price, but I was more than surprised to have a fantastic dinner The chopped salad I had was large but just needed a splash of colour (take off the onion ring and add a few tomatoes) but it was good. I had one of the best 8oz Rib Eye steaks I have ever had, with roasted tomatoes, and the fluffiest, crispiest fries ever. The steak was just incredible, juicy and very tasty. I chose Pecan pie with clotted cream for dessert.
Everything was 5*.
My friends were visiting from the north and we wanted to eat somewhere different but outside and not too expensive. I searched on top table and came across the special offer for the Manhattan Grill 3 courses for £18. There is a limited choice to pick from, but sometimes that's what you need - none for veggies!
Clam chowder, ribeye steak and pecan pie everything was delicious, well cooked and the outdoor space was great, especially when the sun has been shining all day and warmth in the air. There was a great choice of red wine to wash everything down. (wine does bump the bill up!!!)
I would recommend the Manhattan Grill
We did a TT deal and two courses for 15 or three for 18 and really good and well worth the visit.
Went to the Manhattan Grill for my partner's birthday. The decor is very smart, the food excellent and I had one of the best steaks in a long time.
The restaurant provides excellent service. I like the way they gave brief description of their recommendation, also, offer of wine sampling before making our choice. Food was good, the New York Strip was nicely cooked and tasty.
Nice location beside the river and huge windows giving a real indoor/outdoor feel. Security was very tight on the door to the restaurant but polite. Service very attentive until lunch and chatter went on too long for staff and we realised we'd been abandoned by the staff! (to be fair it was 3.45 by then!) Food was well cooked and nicely presented. I had salmon; friend had linguine. Very filling. Pecan pie was a little bit disappointing - quite tasteless and hard but again beautifully presented with clotted cream.
Overall, a nice place for lunch with friends or business colleagues.
This grill has a big outdoor terrace which is ideal for lunch and handy for Canary Wharf. Excellent steaks and friendly, efficient service.
Wanted to compare Manhattan Grill to Goodmans so had the ribeye steak. It was ok but not as good as Goodmans.
The steaks are amazing, lovely staff
Steak was okay, but not as good as other (and cheaper) restaurants in the area. Service was slow even though there was almost as many waiters as customers. We didnt get one of our dishes but it was on the bill anyway. Our bill also featured a bottle of wine that belonged to another table. Again they were incredibly slow in resolving the new bill and rather unapologetic.
A nice business meal on the Wharf, great location and great deals on the lunch menu.
We booked a table of 8 for a work lunch and we all had a good meal - the beer and burger for £10 was good value. Service was excellent as they even managed to pack up a burger for take away for someone who wasn't able to make it. Quite quiet, a relaxing and very pleasant environment.
Used to go to the curve restaurant (old restaurant before renovation) almost on a monthly basis. First time visiting their new Manhattan Grill, and it was a big disappointment.
The waiter did not even know there is a top table deal, and said they don't have it, and we ended up paying full fees. (The waiter said they can't control what is website!!)
Thats fine, but would have chosen something else if it was not for the offer. The standard of food is only average now, and was a bit too salty.
Excellen quality food, ambience and servuce
Excellent food and service. Try the Italian passion cocktail!
We reserved for The Curve but it had become the Manhattan Grill, which is not what we would have chosen, being fish lovers. But the starters of scallops and crab cakes were lovely. The cod main was spoilt by overpowered by a strong sauce--unfortunate because the fish itself was excellently cooked.
The service was very good
Food was great got my steak perfect
Will go again only with the 50% off
The restaurant was closed and we were seated in the bar area. We were not informed of this either by toptable or the hotel. The steak was overcooked and it felt like a bar.
The black cod main was really lovely however spinach salad starter was more of a main size. Better than being too small though I suppose! Service was friendly but not very efficient. Had a long wait between starter and main and others seemed to be experiencing similar problems. Good food but would have been overpriced without the 50% off deal.
The curve restaurant was closed, we actually ate in the Manhatten bar opposite the reception. Overall the food was OK, my starter of scallops being the exception and by far the best dish of the meal, the sauce was wonderful. All the other dishes were fine, with the exception of the Black Cod that was too salty.
Had dinner in the bar as restaurant being refurbished which meant a reduced menu. However we enjoyed the food although plates could have been hotter. Atmosphere good and looking foreward to restaurant opening again.
This is the fourth time went to Curve as the food and service were very good and with 50 % off which is great deal . But this time was a disappoint . My friend and me both order the same main food . steak with peppercorn sauce as we had it before and like it . but this time we both didn't like it at all. We asked for medium rare but it was too hard and even burnt also the sauce didn't taste good as well.
Went to the Curve Restaurat and Bar in Canary Wharf. Great food in a nice hotel. We went on a saturday night and it was a bit quiet but would probbaly go back again once the refurb has been done in the main restaurant.
Great food and excellent staff really good all round!
