Description: Manicomio Café offers a more casual dining alternative to the a la carte restaurant next door. Accessed via the 60-seater terrace (a must for alfresco drinking and dining), Manicomio Cafe is the perfect scenario for all-day eating from breakfast to early evening. The menu ranges from full-cooked to healthy breakfasts, morning coffee and pastries, followed by lunches covering all bases from the hot and hearty to light and nourishing. Afternoon tea includes a decadent selection of delicious homemade cakes and tarts and, come evening, snack from the antipasti menu. All options are complemented by an abundance of wines, beers and soft drinks making this the perfect venue for that catch-up with friends in a relaxed and chilled-out environment. Through a doorway to the back of Poco you will find our 30-seater conservatory which doubles as Manicomio’s private dining room, complete with private candlelit courtyard.

I would go for the general atmosphere but not the food. Our table was on Saturday evening at 6pm and a number of items were unavailable from an already limited menu. Even simple items such as chips had sold out, apparently due to the good weather?! Lasagne very, very dry and tasteless. Would go there again for a drink and to enjoy the ambiance. Food-no thanks.

My gnocchi was not nearly as good as last time, not enough sausage sauce and no mozzarella....totally different experience. My friends cannelloni was so,dry it was like cardboard. I can't believe she ate it. I've never been somewhere so glaringly inconsistent . We had a free mint tea, but really not good enough. I was so embarrassed as I'd been saying how good it was!

We really enjoyed the buzz and ambience in the Cafe - service is efficient and friendly but never intrusive. Great food, especially the burrata starter - overall, a really outstanding lunch.

Limited options for vegetarians. My wife is allergic to peas and broad beans and that left her with almost nothing to choose from. I enjoyed the dinner though
