   very pleasant afternoon tea with assortment of finger sandwiches and cakes, and choice of coffee or tea. The Open Table booking, which had been confirmed by email, had not been recorded on the Hotel system, so initially nobody expected our party of 4. This was eventually sorted out, but was a little irritating, considering the price charged for the overall experience

   Really enjoyed our afternoon tea and staff were very helpful and attentive would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back.

   Lovely afternoon tea, gluten free & vegetarian options both excellent. Very good attentive service from waitresses. Nice room & soundtrack good not overly loud. Only thing that let it down was a dog that peed at the far end of the room but that’s the owners fault not the dog.

   Limited choice for vegetarians, the waitress went to find the bar menu to extend choice of main meal. Terrible back ground music leading to a poor ambience Restaurant was cold, a jacket was required for a comfortable temperature Items missing from desserts

   I booked a table but the restaurant was closed. This should not have been allowed. It ruined my New Year’s Eve.

   We had a lovely afternoon tea , the food was delicious , the staff were really helpful , it was a little bit cold in the room and they went out of their way to get heat on for us and it was fine .

   It was ok…. That’s as far as I would go. Restaurant ok, ambience ok, food ok. We went as we got married at the Alveston Manor 20 years ago and it was our anniversary. Was horrified at the amount of burrata and prawns you got for the money they was minuscule! Chips were the worst we have ever had. They were chewy or part cooked! Never had chewy chips in our lives! Steak was exceptional though and the puddings were absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and we got a plate of small cakes as it was our anniversary which was a nice touch. So overall the good outweighed the bad to bring it up to ok. If it hadn’t been our anniversary we would have complained but didn’t want a negative night.

    Very lovely experience - there were two large groups in the hotel and dining at the same time, so it's always a little odd to be in a quiet restaurant hearing those, and it meant the bar was taken over by groups, but the staff did well to still bring us good quality food pretty quickly.
