Unfortunately my favourite dish the Dosa was not available because the chef who makes them was on holiday. To be honest that is why I returned so was disappointed. I think he is back in a couple of weeks. My other half enjoyed his lamb chop starter and a chicken dish but my vegetable biriyani was boring .The popadoms we’re a bit chewy. I know they normally produce better, we have been 3 times before and we will go again.
Delicious food and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.
Brilliant food, the staff were super friendly would definitely recommend to others and will definitely be coming again!
The food at Msntra never disappoints. Well presented great flavour, and good portions!
Manager was rude to us when trying to use a voucher
Very friendly team and food was delicious. Will certainly be back.
I would not recomend this restaurant at all. We had a table booked for 8.00 but didnt get seated until 8.30. The food was cold, the popadoms were soggy and the manager was rude and really didnt seem to care when we complained.
Very disappointed with food and service.
When first opened food was excellent and varied from the usual Indian restaurants. Now very same. It’s clear they are concentrating on the takeaway market. Will
Not be going back
Absolutely loved this restaurant, food was excellent, service spot on, atmosphere perfect and great value for money.
Terrific quality! I didn’t see anything too exotic on the menu - lots of the usual staples - but everything was superbly cooked. I especially appreciated being encouraged to eat the (thin, light) garlic naan immediately, fresh from the tandoor- it made a difference!
It was nice. Outdoor seating would have been great as it has a nice view of path. This was not a high spec restaurant, but rather just equivalent of going to your local Indian restaurant for a eat in instead of a take out. We had a nice time - but we were in and out in less than an hour.
Great food. Very friendly staff, who are very proud of their restaurant. Did seem a little understaffed though and consequently had to wait quite a while for the food, perhaps take slightly less bookings to ensure you can serve everyone.
Would definitely recommend though, no problems eating there again.
Good food but pretty standard stuff. Seemed a little expensive really. Bath city centre factor I guess
They need a new high chair for infants
An hour and a quarter wait for starters.
Seated after short wait
Order taken 0:20 after seating
Wine arrives arrives at table 0:25
Poppadoms served 0:27
Poppadoms finished 0:30
Wine glasses arrive at table 0:35
Starters appear 1:15
Main arrived at table 1:17!!!!
Atmosphere was terrible due to so many people waiting for food/service. Waiting staff working flat out but just couldn’t cope with the numbers booked in and it really wasn’t their fault. Management/owners really need to sort their act out.
Food was excellent.
What a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant in Bath. After messing up the reservation for my Husbands Birthday, I found Mantra last minute in Open table. It was all that we needed for. Great food, very tasty and well presented. Friendly staff. And we set on a nice patio overlooking Bath. A great way to spend Sunday afternoon and celebrate my husband. Will definitely go back.
The outdoor area was used creatively and felt very welcoming. The food was tasty ,well flavoured and the dosa's were excellent however the portion.s could have been more generous.
I don’t understand how they price this place as if it’s a top tier restaurant. Having to pay separately for rice and naan meant that altogether my curry costed £20 - a crazy price for a (really small) curry - and the coconut rice was just rice with dessicated coconut mixed in instead of being creamy and steamed in coconut milk. The vegetarian platter was tiny for “£15” worth (2 samosas, 2 pieces of paneer, some veggies and a little sauce). The glasses were dirty. All of the poppadom sauce loiked straight out of a packet (fiver). The cocktail was so overly sweet, it tasted like an energy drink. One of our starters arrived 15 mins after the other. We were promised a roof terrace on the website, and came in time to watch the sunset on my birthday, but they wouldn’t seat us there and we were relegated to what looked like a back garden with a few tables hastily thrown in it. Finally, as we walked out we saw that one of the inside rooms was being used as a restaurant, which I’m pretty sure is illegal now. My curry was nice, but nothing about this place was worth what we had to pay for it and we left upset. Take your business somewhere else :)
We were not sure what to expect at first when looking from the outside but what a wonderful surprise when we entered. The outside area to the rear is lovely. The service from start to finish was excellent and the food spectacular. Next time we are in Bath it will be top of our list.
Slow service, Poorly trained staff, Outdoor flooring was sticky. There was no music being played making for a horrible, quiet atmosphere. Poor experience, especially for the price. Personally would’ve rather stayed at home and ordered a takeaway. Automatically adding a 10% gratitude should honestly be a crime for this place.
Excellent! Wonderful food! Highly recommend.
Lovely staff and service, food could be better and in turn better value for the price you pay.
Perfect view and amazing food
You need to visit Mantra - this isn’t your typical Indian! The food tasted amazing and the service was great. I recommend getting a dosa and the hyperbadi medium chicken.
Thank you very much for your feedback and thanks for your support at this time. Thanks for giving us 5 stars. I am glad you liked our food and service. We look forward to serving you soon. Kind Regards, Mantra
Great attentive staff!! Had the set menu and it was great.
Would definitely go back again.
The food was great and best butter chicken I’ve had in a long time!
Best Indian in Bath for something different and delicious.,Tables a bit close together for Covid regulations. Table next to us about 3 ft away so social distancing with strangers not possible.
Very disappointing. Service is terrible. Everyone needs training. Shame as the starters were amazing, but after waiting over an hour for our mains, we left.
One of the service staff dropped so much wax on to my leather jacket when moving a table, and never even apologised. Just carried on doing what he was doing
We waited for 10 minutes to be seated, with other people. No adherence to physical distancing.
We asked for all of our food to come out at the same time; it did not.
The table next to us waited 25 mins for a beer and cocktail.
We were really looking forward to eating there, and it spoilt our night
Huge shame, as honestly it was one of the nicest starters I’ve had in a while.
Maybe worth checking out if you go when they aren’t busy, as they don’t know how to run a busy restaurant unfortunately
Made very welcome, excellent service, very friendly staff.
Definitely recommend booking this restaurant
Literally the best Indian food I have ever experienced and I’ve had a few! The food was flavoursome yet extremely light and all four diners agree. A highlight was the gin-soaked tandoor prawns. Very friendly service too.
Very slow service and some of the food was good, some was awful
Booked for 12 when it was supposed to open but had to wait 10-15 in the doorway for them to let us in. Took another 30-40 minutes for food to arrive but thankfully the food was excellent, maybe worth booking a little after the restaurant is meant to open
We were in Bath on a Monday and were very limited regarding places accepting on line bookings other than the big chains.
Mantra surpassed all our expectations. Service was quick and friendly with useful assistance on menu choices.
Excellent food across the board. I'd highly recommend Mantra for lovely Indian food in Bath.
The food was incredible. The team at Mantra were all so friendly. We will be back!
Food was great, but we were asked to vacate our 7pm booking table at 8pm because they had another booking, even though we still had a glass of wine each. The server offered to let us pour the wine back in the bottle and take the bottle with us...
Favourite Indian restaurant in Bath!
Great food with a nice view out the back . Really enjoyed it
Great food but it’s always a let down on the service
Terrible. Booked a table for 22:15 on open table to turn up and be told they close at 22:00 so it’s impossible, even though the restaurant confirmed the booking. Then got told I was aggressive and got mobbed by the staff as I wanted my taxi fare back in return for the mistake. Ended up with my £10 and a takeaway from a local friendly Indian.
