Wheeler's by Marco Pierre White
However, it is not just for fish lovers, there is plenty of meat on the menu too. Marco has created a menu that gives a nod to the history but has evolved it to what today’s diner wants.
Flavours that represent the history of wheeler's and showcase the classics such as Wheeler's Fish Pie, in addition to new favourites like Lobster Thermidor and Maxim's Quail's eggs Maintenon.
With a separate bar area, Wheeler’s Oyster Bar & Grill Room, is not just for dining. It’s the perfect setting for a business meeting, after work drink or bar snack. There is something on offer for every occasion.

No one to take coats at entrance, bar staff did reluctantly. Sat down at table. Disappointed as the deal I thought I was getting when booked via open table was not recorded nor recognised by staff who had no idea what offer was and said order off the menu. As it was a tad embarrassing in front of guest I ordered from, I guess, a woman bar tender a glass champagne each and a dozen oysters to start. After a wait the head waiter came over and took our order again, shortly in mid order the champagne came with 6 oysters, head waiter bit embarrassed too. Any how he sorted the other 6 oysters and we ordered mains. Very friendly service just a bit hap hazard. Food was good and my fish and chips excellently prepared ...think tempura cod, batter was perfect. Mushy or garden peas (frozen not fresh though). All was good if not inspiring, airy restaurant and not oppressive. Bill was much higher than planned - like 3 times - compared to the offer I thought I had so not so good VFM. However definitely will be back and maybe with pot luck have joined up service.
Fair price for a lunch in the heart of the City of London. Decent surroundings, ideal for a business lunch.
One of my favorite restaurants for business meetings in London
The food was great and arrived on time as we were in a hurry and the waiter was friendly and helpful however we booked this as there was a 50% off a la carte menu offer, which I chose on this app when I booked, and it was not applied and it was too embarrassing to ask in front of a client to amend the bill so we just had to pay it. Not good enough. I shouldn’t have to remind them to apply an offer and a restaurant of this quality should be discreet and professional enough to just do it.
I used a voucher but the the staff and manager could not have been more polite. They were very friendly and helpful. We had steak and chips and a bottle of red. The food was perfectly cooked and the wine was excellent. We will go again.
Excellent service, lovely food and the onion rings are something else a must try!
The offer on Open Table of 50% off food on the a la carte menu in January only applies to dinner according to the restaurant. I did not think this was clearly stated on Open Table as displayed on my phone, but was informed of this when I queried the bill after lunch today. Shame, because all else was good.
It was a very pleasant lunch, but there wasn't many vegetarian options and the restaurant felt cold. I also didn't like the mirrors on the wall.
This is an nice looking venue. The seating is very good and decor and surroundings were pleasant. The staff were attentive and professional. Unfortunately when we went two major items were not on the menu. No Dover Soul dishes or the Herb Chicken which is exactly what we went for. Deciding not to leave we still had the French Onion soup which was superb. My wife had the Chicken Pie which was great on the inside but the pastry was strange. I opted for the Mr Lamb Shepards pie which was very rich but excellent. All in all is was not as good an experience as Marcos Steakhouse , which is brilliant. The restaurant was very quiet maybe because its January!
The occasion was ruined because Opentable allowed to book a table for 16:30 when the restaurant didn't open until 17:30
This changed the whole evening. And affected our menu choice.
Added to which a supposed top London restaurants specialising in Dover Sole had run out of Dover Sole, and this was at the start of the evening! My second choice wasn't available either, so we settled for a very average third choice.
Situation retrieved a little by an adjustment to the bill without having to ask.
Generous servings, attentive staff and great food
Gnocchi drowned in Heavy cream, Taste of promised lobster missing. Seabass too dry. Turkey ok, sausages blah. Much too expensive for what it was. Friendly but obviously untrained staff. Champagne too warm
Portions are large and this is one factor that justifies the price other then the quality of food. Spacious seating arrangements throughout the restaurant. Good location, ambience is perfect for dates or celebrating anniversarys or birthdays. Will definitely come back.
Unoriginal food, flavours didn’t light up the palate
Friendly efficient service
Good value wine list
The service from as soon as we walked in was very good.
Staff extremely polite and jovial.
Although my main dish was not what I had ordered i excepted the beef dish so I could eat at the same time as my friend even though the waiter offered to change it. This actually was a blessing as the beef was so good.
The Waiter did apologise and offered us some wine or dessert but as the food was excellent I declined.
This is the first time I had been in this restaurant and it will now be one of my more regular places to eat.
Well done to all.
While service and food were ok the place was an atmosphere free zone.
Can’t fault the meal but it was expensive for what it was and it infuriates me having 12.5% extra for average service but made to look a cheapscate if I challenge.
The set menu is excellent and is very good value with the Open Table deal. Great food with a bottle of Malbec included!
Starters were hot salmon and duck in a crispy roll both delicious. Mains of a beautifully cooked sliced steak and a fillet of sea bream were also quite delicious. With excellent friendly service, what more could you want.
Had a LOVELY dinner, but was rushed out of the restaurant. We then asked if we could have a drink outside at the bar and they said yes in the lobby. Then found out that since was not staying at the hotel, we were not able to have a drink. Shame because it was just a bad ending to a nice evening.
We were promptly seated and then abandoned for the next 15 minutes. As time was going by and we had a concert to get to in the next hour and a half, my wife went to the bar to order two glass of champagne to get things moving. At the time, there were only three tables occupied in the entire restaurant. When the food finally did arrive, it was entirely forgettable. My wife had fish and chips and I had a fish cake. The mains weren't bad, but were very expensive (£136 with a glass of champers and a glass of wine each) for what was basically pub fare. This place has virtually no redeeming qualities.
Empty on a Friday night so lacked ambience. Also several menu dishes not available
Soulesss in the evening. A simple order for the one fish they had, Dover Sole at £48, for simple grilled sole off the bone was delivered as an off the bone sole covered in sauce a la forester and cold.
My companions fish pies looked good.
This has got to be one of the best value for money with quality food deals around. The offer of set menu (3 starters and 3 main courses) with a bottle of Malbec was excellent. The starters of Charcuterie platter (a meal in itself!) and smoked mackerel pate were excellent and the mains of Sea bass and guinea fowl were equally as good. I will certainly be returning!
Perhaps just unlucky - it used to be very consistent and consistently good. Large parts of the menu were not available because their grill wasn't working, and other items besides.
Quality of food was rather average.
I found the food totally under seasoned and very bland.
Trovato su open table, locale molto carino e romantico. Lo consiglio. Personale molto educato, disponibile e preparato.
We had the most Wonderful time at Wheelers on Friday. Everything from start to finish was perfect. The service was excellent and food out of this world.
We found our waiter Donato to be friendly, welcoming and made my husbands 40th birthday one to remember
We had the deal, 3 courses and a free bottle of Veuve Clicquot. Food was delicious and good portions too. Very attentive and friendly staff. Would recommend and will be back!
A lovely restaurant with good food and great customer service. My only suggestion for my chosen dessert which was an apple tart dish, was that the apple should be served warm or hot - this was shared with the team at the restaurant. But overall, the service was good, the prosecco was flowing and the food was very nice.
I love everything from this restaurant, service-lovely, food-awesome. My sister and I visited the place and it was my sister's birthday. The staff were providing a great service and careness. We would love to go back again. Strongly recommend !
Fine dining price with pub level food with worse than pub level service. Not gonna go again!!
Nice place and ambiance. Service was a bit quirky and food slow to arrive (even though it was pretty empty). But once it arrived the food was very good. Ate off the daily specials menu, Scallops were perfect. Shepherds pie and roasted cod both very good.
Great food. But service not so good if you're in a rush.
Express lunch menu is a great value option however they did not have 2 of the items only one of which was replaced. The restaurant is very regal but the service was a little chaotic. They had just started a new menu so some teething issues can be accepted so definitely worth another visit.
Very well prepared fish dishes with the fish pie excellent. Service was attentive and ideal for our business lunch. Will go there again.
The place is beautiful and romancing. The services was excellent and cheerful.
The food was wonderful as well as the wine.
As you’d expect, this is an absolute top-tier restaurant from MPW. Service was very attentative and friendly. The wine list was fairly priced too.
Terrible lighting, overpriced food, mediocre service and outdated decor.
The food choices were excellent. Service was attentive and informative. The seating and surrounds were pleasant, light and added to the whole experience. Well worth a visit at lunchtime.
The ambience is usual for a restaurant of this quality. Crisp white table cloth, well shined cutlery and glasses. Good level of brightness and airy.
The menu is good, precise, short ish and well explained. Food was no surprise when it arrived.
We felt the service was a little pushy while we were there for a quick bite.
The restaurant is in a lovely setting, and the staff are capable and attentive. However the food was overpriced (£45 for Dover Sole), the restaurant was virtually empty on a Friday lunchtime, and my lamb shoulder lunch special tasted as if it was cooked and keep warm too long. I first went to Wheelers 30 years ago and somehow it feels a little tired. My guests enjoyed their food however, the wine was good and the location excellent.
