Margaux Ratings and Reviews
Second time visit. Went for Saturday brunch, and it was completely empty. We had the tuna tartare followed by omelettes, all of which were delicious. They were playing club music, a bit loud, which wasn’t the best choice for that time of day.
Will definitely return, and will try dinner when hopefully there is some atmosphere. If you live in the area, give it a try.
Absolutely loved my evening at Margaux: the place looks really nice, the service was attentive but not over-whelming (which can be annoying, so points for that!) but it’s the food that really shines! It was difficult to make a decision as everything sounded delicious, but the pan-seared foie gras and the venison were especially delicious. Will definitely be back to try another item on the menu (or five!!!). I highly recommend it!
We could not have been made to feel more comfortable, and the food was marvellous - it was a creative menu and the presentation was extremely attractive! All the way home we talked about what a find this restaurant was, and we would happily recommend it to others who like something just that little bit different. Bravo.
It was a Sunday evening with only one other guest however we have been told by others that this is not normal and the place is usually busy. That being said, the food was outstanding and an excellent wine selection, good lively music. Not the cheapest but we knew that before we went and overall I would say good value.
This is one of our go-to places in South Kensington - always great food, excellent service, very nice vibe and background music. This time I booked for a relaxed birthday brunch and we were not disappointed. Place is very quiet during the day, so it was great for having my 7-week-old daughter with us, as well as my friend's 7-month-old. The brunch menu is excellent with all the usual favourites and some delicious salads. Highly recommended overall.
Excellent "modern European" (read upscale and modern French with fresh ingredients and light on the sauces!) food with an excellent wine list. Convenient to anyone staying in the Gloucester Road area of London with a yen for upscale dining. Not cheap, but the duck breast was superb, the rabbit terrine was excellent and the foie gras tasty.
We had a great evening at Margaux and were so glad we booked it! The food was really good - everything we ordered was perfect! We particularly enjoyed the pork with sweet lentils and the duck, and the pudding of berries with lemon & herb icecream was delicious! Margaux also had a fun atmosphere, so it would be great for groups but also for couples. And really attentive service. Would definitely recommend - this restaurant deserves to do well!
