Superb - Arrived after a visit to the theatre so quite late and it was good to see the Restaurant was still busy. Good menu and attentive staff. Reasonably priced for London. Couldn’t fault it.
Food was excellent; service attentive but not intrusive. Great atmosphere, too.
Absolutely beautiful food. Service was a little stuffy.
Excellent service and food. I took my wife here for her birthday and would recommend this place highly.
Classy restaurant in central location near Covent Garden. Good pre-theatre menu with delicious dishes. I did feel slightly rushed, until I asked if we could have a pause between our main course and dessert, at which point the servers responded positively. Would like to return for a more leisurely meal from the À la carte menu.
Delicious food with an extensive wine list. Perfect for a pre theatre dinner. Food is well presented and full of flavour. Service was very attentive.
Four oif us ate last Saturday evening. We spent over £360 and were asked to leave because we had exceeded two hours. We were still drinking coffee. If we had orderd the full 4 course menu we would still have been eating. There were not sufficient staff to prepare and serve the food in the two hour window and this reuined the eveing. We will not return.
Fantastic food served by a talented staff in a beautiful restaurant. Could you ask for anything more?
Excellent meal and service from the staff at the restaurant and starting with drinks
Not impressed by quality of food though the service was very good and the staff was very friendly. I had bad stomach ache after eating the food.
We had a wonderful meal served by lovely people and would recommend this to anyone who appreciates good food.
A very warm welcome. Attention to detail was outstanding, and our waiter was fantastic! Cocktails were amazing, food was good but not outstanding which was disappointing as everything else was five star. I especially liked the olive oil, so much so I bought a bottle to take home. Thanks for a fabulous experience Margot... :)
I booked for my parents and they had a gorgeous time, they keep talking about the amazing service and the lovely waiters. They also really enjoyed the fixed menu and the great cheese. Only the starter was a bit small.
Excellent food. Highly recommended. Comfortable. Monkfish wrapped in parma ham is best I have tasted. I would go back.
Very poor service.
A vegetarian friend had the waiter run through all the vegetarian options; made clear that she could not eat meat or fish and ordered the pumpkin ravioli.
When the ravioli arrived and first bite taken...she discovered she had been served crab ravioli!! Appalling mistake from the restaurant.
Was very pleased with our table position, upstairs. Service was very good. Gorgeous olive oil.
Amazing food and service as usual. Would recommend this restaurant for quality and value for money. Thank you
Visited Margot after the theatre and while we were expecting a fantastic meal, the experience exceeded our expectations. The service was welcoming, the food both beautifully presented and prepared and the space itself intimate and lively. I definitely recommend dinner at Margot.
The venue is great, decoration is beautiful. The service was very good. Food wise: scallops as a starter was done very well, beef tartare was a bit bland, baked osobucco was good, lamb shank was over cooked. Maybe pasta would have been a better choice as it’s an italian restaurant after all.
The service was slow and the food was very normal, overpriced...
An excellent restaurant with very good food and service.
We had a very quick meal pre-theatre and I have to say it was excellent, very nice food, excellent wines and very good service in a great room close to theatreland. I was happily surprised and wonder why have haven't been before. Well worth it, it's central London so don't expect a bargain but it was good value.
The staff were very pleasant and attentive. They knew our timing to get to a theatre event and made sure we were out in time
consistent high quality from starter and wine thru desert. clean stylish interiors and very professional waiters.
Lovely atmosphere and an ideal place for dinner before a show. The wait staff was very attentive but not intrusive. They offer a prix fix menu (2 or 3 courses) which was a good value. Food is very good and the fresh bread is delicious!
My wife and I both had the set pre-theatre menu and were thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the food, given the overall quality (and price) of the restaurant.
The bean salad starter was over-salted and very heavy on the onion. It had also, unfortunately, been prepared well in advance and in bulk. A good number of beans had obviously split in the mixing bowl, leaving the rest coated in a gritty residue that was thoroughly unpalatable. The dish would have been better suited to a canteen than a seemingly high-quality restaurant.
The main course was so lacklustre that I had to send it back. While one often expects menu descriptions to be minimalist lists of ingredients, one expects the dish to be more than a sum of its parts. Regrettably, rigatoni with anchovies, broccoli and pecorino proved to be just a bowl of pasta with some overcooked broccoli thrown in and some pecorino shavings (I couldn’t seem to locate the anchovies, either by sight or by taste). Its blandness and lack of inspiration would have caused me embarrassment to serve it at home on a weekday evening, let alone to a paying customer in the West End.
Thankfully the pan-fried salmon the main course was replaced with was better and the desert of tiramisu was genuinely excellent. It is also worth noting that the ambience was lovely and the serving staff truly excellent, and very apologetic about the food.
All in all this was a meal that I will easily forget. There was nothing exceptionally wrong with it but the lack of imagination and dare I say it, technical skill, in the kitchen was thoroughly disappointing. Had I received the starter and main course I did in a Zizzi or similar, I probably wouldn’t complain, but when main courses on the a la carte menu are pushing the £30 mark, one really does expect more.
Good value post-theatre supper till 1 a.m. Just the right ambiance in which to unwind after a 5 hour opera. Food very satisfying without being outstanding, though we did stick to the reasonably priced set menu. Perhaps portion size could have been a tad larger. Decent bottle of Portuguese red went down well. Would certainly return.
A wonderful dining experience with professional and personable waiters. A very good feeling from the moment you enter the restaurant. The food was delicious! We’ll definitely be returning and recommending the restaurant to friends.
Margot is a very fine restaurant, the Ossobuco was absolutely amazing.
Excellent dining experience, one of the best Italian restaurants in London, will come back regularly
Morgan has great food and nice ambience, we've been several times. Only drawback is occasionally when crowded the service is poor (they are nice enough but not attentive). They probably need to add one or two more staff. Followed by a bill with a whacking service charge, if the food wasn't great we'd have protested.
The restaurant was not particularly busy as it was mid afternoon on a Sunday but the staff were very attentive and professional. Both the menu and the food served were wonderful a lovely experience or definitely go back.
My partner and I ordered what should have been a simple dish to get right; Linguini and clams. The clams were without flavour or taste and if you cannot get this right you should be in trouble. Service and atmosphere was very pretentious and wine very very overpriced for a mediocre bottle.
Pre theatre booking and also to celebrate our anniversary. Food was exceptional. Service first class. Definitely will use again when in London.
Lovely dinner at Margot, very attentive service, great wine recommendations to complement the food by the Sommelier. We dined on the pre-theatre dinner which was tasty. Overall a great night
Great meal and wine list. No brunello though for an Italian restaurant?
Third visit and as the others an enjoyable experience. My only issues are the startesr were very small relative to the price, and like many London establishments it would be nice to see some more moderately priced wines (might drink 2 bottles!).
The restaurant is quite delightful the decor being quite charming, the food is delicious and served by a team of efficient yet discreet waiting staff.0
A very enjoyable lunch before heading to ROH. Very professional & attentive service from our waiter.
Wonderful service and attention to detail. I took my mum for lunch here and the staff were extememly thoughtful. Food was delicious but it was the service that really stole the show!
