We had meal before show, all the staff are fab and excellent food.
Very good quality food, reasonable wine list, and tastefully appointed. We had a pre-theatre dinner which was served within 45’ without fuss between 6:45 and 7:30. Total bill was £229 for four including a bottle of excellent Chateauneuf du Pape and service charge. We would not hesitate to return.
We chose Margot for a reunion dinner with friends from the US. We wanted somewhere suitably impressive that was open on a Sunday evening, with dependable menu quality, great service, not too noisy so we could talk and reminisce but where the bill would not leave us wincing about eye-watering costs. Margot delivered all of that and proved to be a good choice. The service was attentive and at times flambuoyant, but never overdone. We felt valued and well looked after, and I soon stopped worrying about whether the event would be a success - it was.
Try and avoid being seated downstairs if possible - it's really cramped, to the point that the waiters just couldn't get passed us to get to the kitchen. I had one of the more bizarre things happen to me in a restaurant, when a waitress literally pushed my chair - with me sitting in it - towards the table until my chest was right up against the table, so that she could get through! So we were all getting irritated by this and asked to be moved upstairs, but had to wait at their small "cocktail bar", again with waiters bumping into the back of my chair every time they walked passed! Food seemed good, but probably best avoided if you are a vegetarian and are bored with pasta all the time - there isn't much else (my Ravioli as a main course was pretty bland, I thought).
Beautiful dining room, fantastic food and great service for a pre-theater meal with my 12 year-old daughter.
Excellent service. This was a pre theatre meal and they made sure we were served on time but not rushed. All the staff were all very friendly and attentive. helped us chose a good wine to compliment our tastes. Not big portions and certainly not cheap, but the food and wine was very tasty. I had the pre theatre set menu which was better value. We all enjoyed our meal, and I would recommend this restaurant to our friends.
4 of us got together and had a lovely, balanced meal and good service. I think the restaurant is reasonably priced, with fish and veal, beef options to please all and would recommend for ambience and service in the Covent Garden area. A most enjoyable evening.
Amazing!! Five star, couldn’t do enough for you! As a dairy and gluten intorlerant person I struggle to eat out but they were able to adapt nearly every dish on the menu for me! Even found a dessert for me! Service was amazing, food was delicious! 10/10 would recommend!
Once again I’ve had another fantastic meal at Margot, the staff were friendly and gave really good advice when asked about what wine and food to have.
Excellent food, service and ambiance.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Convenient to theatre area. Would fully recommend.
I went to Margot with a client for lunch. It was quite late, around 2pm, and the restaurant was quiet. The food was good, especially the veal with tuna starter, but it was way too quick. Within 10-12 minutes of finishing our starter, the main was there and then we were presented with the pudding menu. No thanks. Please give us some time to talk, digest and just enjoy not being in the office. We ended up being the only ones in there while the tables were dressed for dinner. It was clear they wanted us out but we had wine to finish. Overall, too quick, lacked a bit of atmosphere (but it was quiet), but the food was good and the female sommelier was fantastic. I would recommend but with this health warning - if you want a leisurely lunch in a convivial, warm environment, then Margot is not for you.
Great food and lovely staff, very enjoyable. An amazing wine list, so many to chose from.
Another amazing evening at this London gem. Bar staff all professional and friendly, making excellent cocktails.
The tables are placed far enough away from each other to have privacy, yet close enough to people watch without being intrusive.
The food is marvellous and always exciting to see what the order looks and tastes like.
Wine list is extensive and the staff are engaging, professional, handsome and beautiful, dare I say!?
This place is fast becoming ‘the’ place to eat and be seen in.
I’ll be back very soon, I promise.
Be afraid, everyone at Margot !!!!
Booked a pre-matinee lunch as a birthday treat and we liked the seating and interior. The staff were pleasant and attentive, perhaps a little too attentive for our liking but it was not busy at the time we visited and it's better than the opposite! The food was well presented and delicious and we were given some complimentary birthday treats at our table and as we left, which was a really nice touch. Would go again.
This was our fourth time at Margot's. It has been a favourite of ours for a couple of years. It is always great value with excellent food, great choice of wine and excellent ambiance. We were not disappointed.
Another lovely meal at Margot. I had tuna and my friend had osso bucco. Service is attentive but not intrusive. The ambience here is great.
Another fantastic experience at Margot with great food and attentive service.
Un très bon restaurant italien avec des saveurs typiques. Un personnel très attentionné au détail et au bien être du client. Un endroit à ne pas manquer à Londres.
Service was superb, food was excellent, food prices were reasonable - we just overdid it on the cocktails!
Excellent service and food easy to find and a verry good winelist.
Superb authentic Italian. The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable but not stuck up (as staff sometimes get in higher quality eateries). Quality wine list, served by carafe/decanter if you and your guest(s) want different choices, but you don’t need a bottle each. The prices are commensurate with the quality, so it’s for lovers, or someone you’re trying to sell to, not the in-laws.
The food overall was great - except the garlic rosemary potatoes which were a little too salty! Superb wine list and fantastic cocktails. Lovely ambience and the only slight negative was that the staff were a little brusque and although they looked the part didn’t always behave it.
Been here twice now. Compelled to write a review as can’t believe some of the bad reviews but they are few among the good. Can’t believe you would get served a bad meal here. The interior and ambiance is great. The service was attentive, if a bit overly so, they fill the drinks far too often but no reason to lose marks here. The food is well cooked fresh Italian, with a mix of fresh pasta mains and other Italian classics. My only complaint would be the desserts could have been a bit better, my Tiramisu was nothing like it should be. Being lead to the toilets in the basement is a little considerate overkill, I can find my own way thanks and open the toilet door thanks. But that aside I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this restaurant. Three courses for two with a carafe of wine came to £112 incl service, a touch on the pricey side, but you don’t walk away feeling it wasn’t worth it.
Superb service for London in an elegant, hip environment. Great food and wine list. Really enjoyed our meal.
Very fine Italian cooking. Not sure why so under the radar
Excellent service and very tasty food. Ambience relaxed but very comfortable. Our first visit for ore Theatre Supper and hope to go back again.
Great food and wine service. The somms are on their game!
Went to Margot at the weekend with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Great food and fantastic service. Well worth a visit!
Service was exceptional. All the staff were very friendly. Everyone loved their food, and the decor and atmosphere in there was perfect. Will definitely be going back. Food was good value for the quality of what you had, and good portions, but the only thing to look out for is the punchy prices with the wine menu. Staff were happy to recommend based on my price range though.
Limited wine selection below £50.00 per bottle.
Food however good value.
Met a fellow professional to discuss mutual client business. The Gavi was excellent and the fixed priced menu good. I would go again. Good service, quiet, stylish, discreet.
The standard of food is consistently excellent, the staff are friendly and informed and the room is elegant. I've never had a bad meal there.
Main dishes were average, was lacking taste. Starters were boring
Fantastic place with Italian cuisine in the heart of Covent Garden.
We had a lovely lunch. The Parmesan entree was very average. Just chunks of cheese .
Great ambience, nice staff
Had a perfect dinner at Margot restaurant. Loved the stylish interior and the atmosphere of this place. Service was relaxed yet very attentive. Food and drinks were delicious. Will definitely come back.
Happy always to be back at Margot! Lovely ambiance in the heart of Covent Garden and great food and wine!
The quality of the food, service, and decor were excellent. The food was good value. We would recommend the restaurant whole-heartedly. Our one reservation was that the notable wine list was quite expensive.
Very slick. Beautifully presented food and cooked to perfection. Dessert the best. Would have liked slightly bigger portions, however, especially for the money, though appreciate London prices. A little dark inside, but comfortable and relaxing. Service polite and smooth. Very enjoyable on the whole and would return.
