Margot Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I took my wife and son to the restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary as I had heard wonderful things about the cuisine and service. We thus had high expectations and they were all met. The waiters were knowledgable and helpful and entirely welcoming. We started wig champagne and moved into a beautiful chianti classico for our meals. My wife chose the veal ragu for main and the crab cakes for starter whilst I had the lobster pasta with broccoli and the lamb shank followed by desert and suggested desert wines. Every dish was exquisite. The meat fell off the lamb shank like a dream and the lobster pasta was perfectly delivered. They were kind enough to bring out a plate of sweet bits with “Happy Anniversary” inscribed in chocolate which was a nice touch. All in all, it was a gorgeous Saturday long lunch and I would go there again in an instant. Congratulations to the owner. Little wonder it gets the reviews it does.
A group of 6, with a few of us being vegetarian. Asked for one of their best tables and also mentioned it was for a special birthday. We did get one of their best round tables in a cosy area. They were very happy adapt menu for us vegetarians and of course dessert for the birthday girl personalised with her name was added bonus. Excellant food, great staff, very helpful and service with a genuine smile!
I work just around the corner and have always wanted to try. So finally got a chance to come here for my friend's birthday dinner, and I have to say I'm impressed. From the attentive service to delicious food, they were all spot on and the ambience was just lovely, my friend and I had a great time (we both thought that it will be a wonderful restaurant for couples as well). Would definitely recommend!
This is a really lovely restaurant. My second visit. The service is great. The food is so delicious I didn't want it to end. I was here for lunch this time and had the pumpkin pasta. My friend had crab starter and the special tuna taggietelle, which I tasted and was also delicious. Nice selection of wine and great ambience. Have booked again in a few weeks time its so good.
Lovely table and great attentive service. The food was good, portions not over-large - just right. Sharing starters of meats/cheeses are good and the dipping olive oil is superb. Wine list expensive but the cheaper end ones are just fine. Overall recommended and will return.
Margot has a friendly open atmosphere and the dining experience is that expected of a restaurant that cares for the customer. From the moment we entered to the moment we left our party felt welcome and sorry to leave.
The menu proposals covered a wide range of meats, fish and vegetarian. The food was excellent. Well prepared and well presented.
As the restaurant filled up the table service became stretched but there was always a waiter around to help within a few minutes.
The wine menu was extensive with a range of prices and the cost per bottle was I suspect normal for an excellent restaurant in London. The wine we chose was one of the less expensive options and was very enjoyable.
This is the second time at Margot for us. We would all recommend the experience.
Booked this restaurant for a pre Christmas meal with my partner. The restaurant had confirmed the day before that the table would be time limited to two hours, it was a concern at the time but needn't have been. Service was exemplary. They have a high number of staff in the restaurant area so you're never left waiting, also the kitchen is very quick so we were comfortably finished within two hours. Even with three courses we didn't feel rushed. The food was unique in terms of presentation and flavours. I don't think I'd directly compare it with anywhere else I've been but if you are after well prepared and well presented European inspired cuisine you won't go wrong. Don't expect a huge list of menu options, though the menu looked small at first there was enough variation once you read it. I will be recommending it to friends, its a little pricey but worth it for an 'occasion'.
This was a new discovery for us. After the loss of Orso we were looking for a good Italian restaurant in Covent Garden and this will be a new favourite. The decor is stylish but restrained. The service is first class and so is the food. We both had excellent pasta and the other dishes were also very good. My wife described her dessert as exceptional. We will be back.
Just amazing as usual from Margot.
Warmly welcomed when you’re in, offering to take hats, coats and bags etc. attentive but not intrusive service, being there when needed. Our waitress realised we were vegetarian from our meal choices and informed us of a product in something we might have chosen. Polite and friendly and very very good to see one of the owners manning the reception desk - leading from the front. Will always choose Margot when looking for somewhere to eat in London - will never go wrong.
