It was a lovely meal from beginning to end. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful,
An elegant, classy and affordable experience; we will definitely be returning to this delightful restaurant.
Amazing food, amazing service great atmosphere, staff on hand to do anything for you. Would highly recommend a visit
We ordered food and they pushed us in to ordering starters as mains will take a while.
We ordered starters and the mains took over an hour to come!!!!
There were some random charges on our bill which we don’t know what were there for but didn even have time to complain as we were running late to our bar booking.
100% wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Very friendly service and a great atmosphere. Not buzzy but great if you want to talk
We had an early reservation so I can’t comment too much on the noise level. The tables are a bit close though and that’s why I gave the ambience only 4 stars. I must say that the monkfish with orange sauce was the best I have ever eaten. They also have some very nice and delicious vegan options that my granddaughter was happy to indulge in. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.
The food was quite average and the service was too... had to wait 40 mins for a drink. Can’t justify the cost really
Great little restaurant, with excellent service. Well located for pre theatre dinner.
Gluten free request was dealt with, even providing an additional oil dish. Excellent restaurant decor, service and food.
I visited Margot yesterday with my husband for dinner. We were impressed with the atmosphere once we stepped in. The service is very good and the waiters are so polite and very attentive.
The menu has some very interesting items, I like to try new things. We had excellent food and very nice wine. Everything was so good. I really recommend it for fine dining lovers and will definitely go back again.
Divine. Amazing atmosphere, food and wine. Excellent service. New favourite spot. A bit noisy when full.
First visit here for lunch. Just enough people for an ambiance but not so busy to be loud or slow in service. In fact service was excellent from the start. They have corner tables for two so you are side on. Food was superb. Some wine by the glass was expensive but overall a very enjoyable experience. Will return.
I have dined at Margot four times, and almost every time I find that I have no idea who my waiter is. Last Saturday three of the staff asked if I was ready to order. I wasn't. The Sommelier should be the person to deal with when purchasing a wine from the list. Overall, it is a first-class Italian restaurant and probably the best in London and I have tried a lot of them.
Beautiful food in a beautiful setting - the pastas, in particular, were delicious. The only place it lost marks from the slightly scattergun service. Staff seemed to have different roles (we were waited on by about 5) but these roles weren't very clear. For example, I asked for a glass of wine to go with my pasta but was told that someone else would have to deal with that and, eventually, it arrived about 7 mins after the pasta did. Plates were also whipped away incredibly quickly - I was definitely intending to scrape as much of the amazing sauce up as possible! - and we weren't offered things like parmesan.
Having said this, the meal iteself was lovely and the setting is beautiful.
We had a lovely time at Margot on Friday night. The food and wine was delicious and the staff were very attentive. We felt very relaxed and not at all rushed which can often be the case. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Ottimo cibo italiano in ambiente raffinato.
Good Italian in handy location for west end theatres. We ate after an early show and enjoyed risotto, ravioli and other interesting pasta dishes. Good service and a nice atmosphere - plenty of tables but not too close to each other.
The main courses and desserts were lovely, although the starters were not great and choice fairly limited.
The maître d' and his senior manager were fantastic - excellent manners and very concerned when I returned my starter. They immediately took it off the bill and offered me a free cocktail.
Some of the junior staff need to be better trained I would say. They didn't seem to know the answers when we asked a couple of questions about the menu and the cheeses. One waiter also forgot to order our second drinks.
All in all a very authentic French experience, with well-cooked dishes and fine ingredients in a really pretty room.
Very nice restaurant but looks can be deceiving- felt rushed - and surprise charges at the end.
One for a charitable cause and another for bread for the table!
Server was very attentive but I now attribute it to trying to move us along.
We enjoyed our visit to Margot from start to finish. The menu offered some excellent choices, we are both fish eaters, and the courses we chose exceeded our expectations. Our only disappointment was the wine list, which was too biased to the more expensive end.
Visited Margot after seeing Jay Rayner’s list of 10 places to eat before you die. All I can say is ‘utter perfection’. Food and service was beyond stunning. Thank you for a perfect Friday evening.
Impeccable service and great food, loved it and will be back
This was our first visit to Margot - the restaurant had been recommended to us and as we are serial lunchers and very fond of Italian food we decided to give it a go. The reception was excellent and the service overall was very impressive with a nice blend of professional service and friendly, relaxed manners - its not always an easy task to get the balance right. The food was good although the portion size a little on the small size but we are not big eaters so not a problem overall. The flavours and presentation was good and the afternoon was very enjoyable. We like to lunch around 2pm onwards so the all-day opening on Friday and Sat suits us although we like to lunch during the mid-week and this may cause a problem as we do take our time, enjoy the ambiance and wine! Overall, well done, we will be back to sample further dishes - thank you for your attention and service.
Amazing service and amazing food, you could not ask for more. Perfection
Very good food. incredible service. highly recommend
Been here a number of times and it is always very good, sometimes excellent. THis time neaere the former, only because the pappardelle was overcooked. The rest of the food was excellent.
I dined at Margot with a four other guests, two of whom were extremely late due to a mix up over times. The restaurant accommodated this change with minimal fuss and extended our allotted time so we could finish our meal in comfort. The staff were friendly, polite and well briefed when I asked for advice on gluten free options, which were plentiful. The restaurant space is attractive and individual (if possible ask for the window banquette when booking).
The meal was uniformly good and pretty to look at, I had the smoked salmon starter with calves liver main and both were delicious and filling (the latter is not always the case with high end dining). The other guests were also very happy with their meal choices.
We booked our table to celebrate a dearly loved colleague's move abroad and this was a very fitting way to show our appreciation. I would highly recommend.
Read reviews very misleading, the place was nice and the service was good but the set menu was awful. Sea bass was non existent and the pasta was just full of pesto (over powering) and hard potato. Expensive for very little so disappointed as this was a anniversary treat.
The burrata was outstanding. It is a must-try item on Margot’s menu. The veal was very good, but outshined by the burrata. The service was impeccable.
Fairly fancy place and food is delicious and service is excellent. A bit pricier but good for the area. Great pre theatre set menu and good selection of meat and fish dishes.
Very good restaurant!
Thank You !
Margot was fabulous , we all had a delicious meal, lovely house wine. The staff was very helpful and friendly, would recommend to friends and hope to come back!
The food had deep flavour and taste. Fully enjoyed crap ravioli.
Excellent waitstaff! Went to great efforts to keep my meal gluten-free. Would highly recommend.
Had the chicken with the smash potatoes and Swiss chard. Simple but elegant way presented and quite delicious. Also had the asparagus risotto which was very tasty, but I like my risotto just a little bit less al dente and more soft.
Excellent Italian wine list including a lot of regions that most people don’t know about. Also carry a good French wine offering.
One of the best Italian in town. Perfect for an impressive date
Food was very good, but the portions were very small and expensive. Shouldn’t be leavening a restaurant after a three course meal still hungry.
There was a hair in the wine glass and I was bought the wrong dessert.
For a cheaper restaurant I’d say it was excellent but just not worth the money
Excellent service, food, and ambience.
Special anniversary for my wife and I.
They provided a surprise of a piped chocolate greeting with petite fours.
The staff made a special occasion even more special and the food was superb
Quite tasty and well prepared food, though perhaps could have used less salt in rabbit salad starter and Lamb main. However for the set menu options reasonable value for the food quality. Buzzy though a bit formal atmosphere for the area. Service very attentive and perhaps a little more than needed at times.
Cons are unexpected though small cover charge and assumed 13.5 % service charge including in top of covers.
