Specialising in “babushka cooking”, the menu is replete with Russian dishes and influences from the former Soviet countries of Georgia, Ukraine and also offers an extensive selection of salads and lighter dishes displaying a liberal use of fresh herbs. Its generous and exquisite selection of tea-time treats, cakes and infusions, meanwhile, is hard to resist, and available throughout the day.
With extraordinary attention to detail, Mari Vanna transports each guest into the Russian home of a bygone era where shelves are adorned with matryoshka dolls, trinkets and tchotchke. Displaying true Russian tradition from top to toe, Mari Vanna is a rare find in London.
Initially opened in a private apartment in St Petersburg, Mari Vanna has sister restaurants in Moscow and New York.

Great atmosphere and very tasty food!
Good place to eat, nice decor but overpriced - most dishes are at least £15
Very nice restaurant. Simple and tasty Russian food. Cosy atmosphere only downside was a bit strange music playlist.
Great place with nice and homely food.
Great interior makes you feel like you are visiting grandma’s house.
Portions are pretty generous for the prices.
We had salads to try and then soup and pelmeni for main and it was a bit too much, make sure you leave some space for great cakes and pirozki, as they are amazing too.
Lovely place. Dishes are authentic. Good quality. Great atmosphere and service.
Taking my friend for her first time and we were not disappointed by the amazing food , friendly service ! Couldn’t recommend this place more! Would definitely be coming back again and again !
The restaurant is beautiful.
Wonderful food and professional staff.
That’s a shame that we could have stayed there just till 10pm.
Will definitely come back there.
Excellent food, takes my girlfriend back to her Mother and Grandmothers home cooking. We absolutely love it and it is a MUST whenever we visit london!
10/10 as always. Medovik is the best dessert we have ever tasted.
The waiter dropped knife into the soup that he brought to our table and the soup had to be changed, so we had to wait extra time and I do not know if they did a new soup or just put the same one in front of us. The pea soup was tasteless without the sausage pieces, which were just 5 of them in total on the soup. The pea soup was actually more like the mashed potato soup - total disappointment. Then the weighted dropped a fork again on the table while cleaning. The tea was full of spiky leaves that were not filtered out so the cup was always full of them - so the tea had to be changed as well as it was not possible to drink it. Never had such a bad experience at this place. Such a low standard.
I ate the worst napoleon in my life 🤔
I live the deco, the food. Been coming here often.
Only I have wished that you would introduce a cheaper menu during this time, as not many people are going out. However I do love all the food, it never disappoint.
Terrible service. Long wait. The staff is not friendly
Lovely restaurant, really quaint and aesthetic. Great location. The food is outstanding and incredibly varied. Great flavored vodkas and the Georgian wine is also fantastic.
So far the best restaurant in town. Word can't discribe the vibe and the atmosphere, the food and the people working over there. Keep up the standard.
Thank you for an excellent dinner!
Good food but poor stuff,we booked table for 20:15 but hostess set us at 20:45
The food is delicious and the place looks so traditiona, we enjoyed our dinner, was something else!
The waitress who served us was very patient and suggested really tasty options! We loved the décor and ambience. Lovely experience
A nice place with an amazing interior but too hot and stuffy inside.
Amazing atmosphere, wonderful Russian food, with some wonderful Georgian addition of khachapuri. Lovely experience. Highly recommend.
Far to warm to enjoy the food.
great to be back after lock down. one of the best restaurants in London still
Everything was very good and comfortable. Food is excellent.
The best cakes I’ve tried in the entire London 😊
Beautiful restaurant with exceptional food! My favourite place to eat!
Had dinner at Mari Vanna’s with a friend. We both loved the experience, particularly the décor and the very Russian ambience. A lot of care has clearly gone into everything; even the toilets are nicely decorated with flowers, old Soviet newspapers etc. and in the toilets there is a recording playing of children’s stories in Russian, which really makes you feel like you are in Russia!
The interior was beautiful, the staff was very attentive and the menu was very well thought out to give you an authentic Russian cuisine experience. I do however think their prices are influenced mostly by the location vs the value of the actual food but ever so slightly. Overall I’m happy with the experience and look forward to returning.
Very nice atmosphere, takes you back to soviet times.
Every little detail is thought through.
The food is nice, although they can want on khachapuri dough. We came for a birthday celebration, they could have done something special, like a small piece of cake with a candle would be nice, but nothing.
Overall very nice experience
beautifully decorated, lovely atmosphere, borsch was particularly delicious!
Perfect place to experience Russian cuisine in central London.
Food is always super yummy and you feel very welcome there!
I highly recommend this restaurant, cozy place and good food. You feel you are dining at your old auntie’s house. A beautiful experience.
I had Syrniki on a Sunday Morning- not good at all!! they must change the recipe!!!
Perfect dinner and super special place
A beautiful restaurant with fantastic food. Could not recommend more!
Different yet Very positive experience. Enjoyed it
The best one🥰
Delicious food and nice team! Love them!
Very good meal with typical And delicious Russian dishes. Excellent flavoured vodkas. Very friendly and helpful service, nice atmosphere. Highly recommended, just as its sister restaurant in New York.
Very good experience, highly recommend. The food was excellent.
Poorest service ever. They didn't offer us the special offer with the summer soups explained that the customers should ask about them. +no air con. Never again!
This restaurant is NOT following government COVID-19 guidelines. The tables are placed very close to each other and there are no shields. Since there’s no AC either, it’s a dangerous place to go to in these circumstances.
Dear Wayss, thank you for your feedback. It’s important to us that our customers are more than satisfied, we can assure you that we are taking all COVID 19 guidelines seriously, the staff wear face masks, sanitisers provided for customers, distancing maintained in common areas, extra space between tables. We pride ourselves in maintaining the highest quality standards for our customers and we do hope that you will visit us again in the future.
Was amazing as always, but AC needs to be stronger. Was really hot inside
Anyway it doesn’t change the fact Mari Vanna being my fav spot in London
