Specialising in “babushka cooking”, the menu is replete with Russian dishes and influences from the former Soviet countries of Georgia, Ukraine and also offers an extensive selection of salads and lighter dishes displaying a liberal use of fresh herbs. Its generous and exquisite selection of tea-time treats, cakes and infusions, meanwhile, is hard to resist, and available throughout the day.

Everything is delicious, as usual.
If you want authentic Russian cuisine, then this is the place! It's like my grandma's cooking was upgraded (don't tell her that!). Thanks for having us - it was nice to see only Russian-speaking staff in your restaurant which made us feel like home.
The level has definitely declined since our last visit one year ago. Food is stodgy and heavy, service lax and disinterested ... sad, because it was such a gem just a short time ago and we couldn’t wait to go again. Hope they can pick themselves up.
Great atmosphere, mediocre food. Pirogi with beef I’d recommended, but skip the Kiev cake which was one of the worst I ever tried
I don't know if it was karaoke night or not, but this restaurant was way too loud for whatever they were doing. My boyfriend and I wanted a romantic night out with good Russian food in a restaurant with a language we both knew, but we couldn't feel comfortable in this place. The food wasn't the best for the price we paid for.
A really lovely setting - like going away on holiday to St Petersburg - food was delicious, especially the meat dumplings and stuffed cabbage, washed down with some very imaginative vodka cocktails.
Overall it’s good, however, the waiters don’t understand English well, we struggled a bit. I ordered 5 slice (bread), she brought only one. Then when I asked for more, they took so long that I had to cancel it and my meal became cold. Food was tasty tho.
Delicious authentic food;
Polite & respectful service
This is one place you need to eat at to experience real Russian cuisine
The whole restaurant inside makes you feel you are in a Russian home
Service is excellent and food and wines go well together especially the Georgian wines
Awesome food and lovely christmas tree!
The best Russian Restarant in whole England , well recommend
A nicely decorated Russian restaurant, with delicious food and friendly staff. I would highly recommend it.
Home cosy atmosphere, we had nice breakfast with my daughter and enjoyed it.
Lovely atmosphere & food
Great honey cake
Liked the loo
Great atmosphere, service and friendly staff, food was outstanding, looking forward to going back
Absolutely outstanding restaurant and evening for us. Ambiance a solid 5/5, great and careful service from staff, noise levels were low when we got there but moderate as more people came in. We even received two complimentary shots at the end. Highly recommended!
Nice place, Great food , good service ,😍
Love the dessert and food at this restaurant.
Very nice atmosphere as well.
Staff pleasant enough, but displayed all the joy of working for a chain restaurant. There was no wow factor here. Very overpriced for food which was just standard Russian cuisine. Decor was great though.
Worst attitude I ever had from a hostess, and some of the waiting stuff, perhaps the food was good and ambiance is nice.
Enjoyed afternoon tea! Very nice selection of traditional savory meat and fish pastries and canapés, delightful sweet cakes selection too. Beautiful interior and cozy atmosphere.
Great decor and real Russian ambiances. Really well decorated for winter and Christmas, food was also really tasty and super filling. The fish layered salad was the best but also the salmon was delicious!
Used to be a nice restaurant. Changed a lot, to the worse. Bad service in particular. Over priced.
Wonderful as always
Nice but very rich food. Small place overall, cool toilets. Very slow service unfortunately.
It was a nice experience for my family and I
Great quality of food. The service could be slightly better.
This was my third visit to the restaurant and although the food was great the service was not as good compared to the last two visits. The waitress that attended to us was quite grumpy and rude so I felt a bit uncomfortable.
The food was okay. The decor was beautiful. But the waiters'attitude is so bad, especially the waitresses, who has a stinky face and don't smile at all. The waiters are also very strange. When the guest calls the waiter, the waiter can pretend not to see him. The food is served very slowly, and the people are tired after a meal. Generally speaking, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
A fantastic and cultural experience. The ambience was unique and enhanced by the staff who were excellent. I had the benefit of dining with a "local" who added to the whole experience. I recommend exploring various dishes on the menu and enjoying the infused vodka as well! Highly recommended.
Amazing service, great ambience! Definitely a restaurant to repeat!
Not the biggest fan of the service. However, the quirky grandmother's living room style setting and outstanding food are worth a visit if anyone is looking for a different place to go to.
The food is amazing! The atmosphere is beautiful, it is very cozy and homily. The only thing what was upsetting it’s how slow the service was. From taking an order to bringing a desert after the main. In Fact we were waiting for so long that we finished tea that was ordered in addition to the desert and we already didn’t have time to stay longer. Had to take the desert away.
What a gorgeous restaurant. Great food with a real flavour of Russia. The service team were all friendly and welcoming and such a quirky place to eat. Will definitely return soon.
A very enjoyable experience. Very comfortable seating. Strongly recommend the experience.
Beautiful restaurant, exquisite food, impeccable service. Highly recommend!
I had a great time at Mari Vanna, it felt less like a restaurant and more homely as if at a dinner invitation, the ambience, the food, the service was impeccable, not noisy at all, I was seated downstairs and it was very spacious the tables were placed in a such a way where every diner had the own privacy. I would definitely visit again .... one happy diner
The ambiance was amazing but the food was over valued.. it was too salty and the menu was not temptating that much.
I really enjoyed authentic Russian food. It is awesome!
