Specialising in “babushka cooking”, the menu is replete with Russian dishes and influences from the former Soviet countries of Georgia, Ukraine and also offers an extensive selection of salads and lighter dishes displaying a liberal use of fresh herbs. Its generous and exquisite selection of tea-time treats, cakes and infusions, meanwhile, is hard to resist, and available throughout the day.
With extraordinary attention to detail, Mari Vanna transports each guest into the Russian home of a bygone era where shelves are adorned with matryoshka dolls, trinkets and tchotchke. Displaying true Russian tradition from top to toe, Mari Vanna is a rare find in London.
Initially opened in a private apartment in St Petersburg, Mari Vanna has sister restaurants in Moscow and New York.

This is always a classy venue with beautiful nostalgic Russian decor and ambience . Service is excellent . The food however , whilst good and delicious could be raised to that next level of sophistication and depth
The visit was fantastic. The food was excellent. At the end of our evening there were a bit too many people in close area.
However, the social distance, sanitation stations and professionalism of waiters were in compliance with current government advice.
Cosy place with authentic food! Had great time! Thank you!
A great place - amazing authentic food, lovely staff , great cocktails and wines.
all very good - excellent choice of restaurant in central location
I will surely recommend this place to my friends everthing was perfect 👏
Specifically requested a table upstairs and called ahead to confirm, they confirmed it would be upstairs. Arrived and it was downstairs. I would have cancelled if they had said they couldn’t accommodate upstairs.
Always enjoy my time at mari vanna
Best staff , delicious food , coast environment
Thank you
Very nice atmosphere inside, cannot compare it to any other Russian restaurants in London. Food isn’t the cheapest but 100% worth it.
Horrible time , even food was not bad but will never come back . Police came to me and was trying to arrest then they realised I wasn’t the person they are looking for. ....Had mental breakdown in that moment . It was a mistake and they didn’t even say sorry . Then the waiter was trying to fool us with payment ...In that situation I went through they should give at least a discount. Stuff also didn’t even apologise for the accident I had . Extremely disappointed.
Great place and delicious food
Had a great night there
Everything was perfect :) During less busy times it's a great place for a cosy and quiet lunch. I would highly recommend it also for an afternoon tea with friends.
Simply love this place. One of the best traditional russian food in London. A taste of my childhood. Really recommend.
Good as always! The best Russian food in London
This is my second time visiting.
The service and food are impeccable.
Recommendations:
ShubaCoat Salad
Georgian Cheese bread
Sturgeon
It’s expensive but well worth it!
Always great food with outstanding service. Thank you!
Very nice place and food, same as prior visits. Social distancing practice evident. Recommended
Another visit to Mari Vanna, and yet another very pleasant evening spent with friends at this resturant. As you enter through the front door into a "Grandma's cottage" of a foyer the Russian theme hits you immediately and this continues throughout.
Great menu as always, and the food arrives well presented and tasty. The standard menu options are great value and well chosen, but the a la carte was our choice. In which case, "Yes", the size of the bill may mean you need to remortgage your broom cupboard in Knightsbridge, but is it worth it? . . . . Certainly is.
Will I be revisiting soon? . . . . Certainly will.
The place looks like a fairytale and the food taste home made.
Will go there again. Had the clear chicken soup, the traditional juice and honeycake.
Great atmosphere and very tasty food!
Good place to eat, nice decor but overpriced - most dishes are at least £15
Very nice restaurant. Simple and tasty Russian food. Cosy atmosphere only downside was a bit strange music playlist.
Great place with nice and homely food.
Great interior makes you feel like you are visiting grandma’s house.
Portions are pretty generous for the prices.
We had salads to try and then soup and pelmeni for main and it was a bit too much, make sure you leave some space for great cakes and pirozki, as they are amazing too.
Lovely place. Dishes are authentic. Good quality. Great atmosphere and service.
Taking my friend for her first time and we were not disappointed by the amazing food , friendly service ! Couldn’t recommend this place more! Would definitely be coming back again and again !
The restaurant is beautiful.
Wonderful food and professional staff.
That’s a shame that we could have stayed there just till 10pm.
Will definitely come back there.
Excellent food, takes my girlfriend back to her Mother and Grandmothers home cooking. We absolutely love it and it is a MUST whenever we visit london!
10/10 as always. Medovik is the best dessert we have ever tasted.
The waiter dropped knife into the soup that he brought to our table and the soup had to be changed, so we had to wait extra time and I do not know if they did a new soup or just put the same one in front of us. The pea soup was tasteless without the sausage pieces, which were just 5 of them in total on the soup. The pea soup was actually more like the mashed potato soup - total disappointment. Then the weighted dropped a fork again on the table while cleaning. The tea was full of spiky leaves that were not filtered out so the cup was always full of them - so the tea had to be changed as well as it was not possible to drink it. Never had such a bad experience at this place. Such a low standard.
I ate the worst napoleon in my life 🤔
so disappointed
I live the deco, the food. Been coming here often.
Only I have wished that you would introduce a cheaper menu during this time, as not many people are going out. However I do love all the food, it never disappoint.
Thank you
Terrible service. Long wait. The staff is not friendly
Lovely restaurant, really quaint and aesthetic. Great location. The food is outstanding and incredibly varied. Great flavored vodkas and the Georgian wine is also fantastic.
So far the best restaurant in town. Word can't discribe the vibe and the atmosphere, the food and the people working over there. Keep up the standard.
Thank you for an excellent dinner!
Good food but poor stuff,we booked table for 20:15 but hostess set us at 20:45
The food is delicious and the place looks so traditiona, we enjoyed our dinner, was something else!
The waitress who served us was very patient and suggested really tasty options! We loved the décor and ambience. Lovely experience
A nice place with an amazing interior but too hot and stuffy inside.
Amazing atmosphere, wonderful Russian food, with some wonderful Georgian addition of khachapuri. Lovely experience. Highly recommend.
Far to warm to enjoy the food.
great to be back after lock down. one of the best restaurants in London still
