Best Cocktail I've had in Brum. Food was good. Will definitely return to try the full menu with wine flight.
Can't wait

Waiter ruined a good evening for us. He was sullen and never made any attempt to smile or make us feel welcome. The older gentleman was the opposite, but he didnt serve us sadly, but we could see he interacted with diners and smiled constantly - it really does make all the difference..
Food was good and worth the trip though.

Very disappointed with the service, food was very poor. When you compare to Folium, Opheem and Purnells it comes up lacking. Service was very rushed to begin with then slow. Waiters were not very knowledgable and very hard to hear as noise levels were ridiculously loud. Wouldn’t return, has ambition but style over substance.

Great flavors, service very good and attentive well worth a visit

Went to Maibel with my wife prior to an event at the Arena as it was within walking distance. We were met with a friendly smile by all the staff and this continued throughout our visit along with exceptional service.

The food was of a very high standard and we felt was good value for money. We both had the tasting menu which challenged us with some of the flavour combinations but was stunning and fantastically presented.

We both highly recommend and will be telling our friends and family and will be returning again soon

Unfortunately I can’t and I really wanted to. The flavours in the sauces were over powering to the point you could not taste the main attraction in my case the halibut which was exquisitely cooked. My wife ordered the venison which was also overpowered but not by the promised chocolate jus which had little flavour.
The menu needs to state such flavours because if my wife had ordered the halibut she would of sent it back as she hates strong ginger.
On a positive the front of house were very attentive and the ambiance was good.

If you're looking for a fine dining experience in Birmingham, I'd definitely recommend Maribel. The food and service was outstanding and represented excellent value. Great wine list too.

Good value for money! Food is delicious and service was efficient. Only critique although minor is that the waiters and waitresses although incredibly polite and attentive could have been more friendly in their approach, chatty etc. Would thoroughly recommend the restaurant

Perfect for pre concert dining. Delicious food and wine. A lovely welcome by the charming staff and we felt very comfortable here. Thought our 3 course meal represented value for money and good choices.

The staff were great but the expensive fillet steak was over cooked. Other than that, it was a nice experience

Superb food and caring timely service.
This is a small restaurant with smart modern decor.
Great location, but no real bar area for pre-meal drinks - not that it mattered as it was nice sitting at the table early.

A wonderful start to our evening. At no point did we feel rushed and yet we were served swiftly, with quiet, discreet professionalism and attentiveness. The food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely go again and would highly recommend Maribel to anyone.

Unfortunately a combination of us arriving late and the waiter not responding to our need to complete our meal by a certain time resulted in a stressful meal and for me having to leave without my desert. That said the staff are excellent, the food was beautifully presented and delicious. The lack of ambience was due to a lack of warmth and had a rather utility feel. We would return to enjoy the high quality food.

J'ai trouvé que les plats étaient bons quoique mon entrée "Tomates, Fraises, Glace à l'huile d'olive" était un peu simple et que mon dessert "Banane, Cream cheese et Chocolat" m'ait un peu déçu (P-ê juste parce que je suis une grande amatrice de chocolat et que je n'ai pas aimé le goût de la crème au chocolat). Ceci dit le plat était bon et le pré-dessert excellent. Le service et l'atmosphère étaient également agréables. Sauf quand j'ai demandé un plateau de fromage sans présure animale, en dessert, pour mon mari qui a une maladie congénitale qui l'empêche de manger du saccharose (sucre de canne, de betterave, etc...) et qu'on m'a répondu assez sèchement qu'il n'y avait pas de fromage sans présure (vegetarian cheese) et qu'il était impossible d'avoir quoi que ce soit en remplacement. On m'a précisé que j'aurais dû le préciser à la réservation. Ce qui n'est pas faux. Mais au vu de la liste d'ingrédients que mon mari ne peut manger, je préfère en général étudier le menu avant de me rendre au restaurant et trouver des solutions en amont. J'ai vu que le restaurant proposait un assiette de fromage et qu'il était également proposé des formules végétariennes, j'en ai donc déduit qu'obtenir une assiette de fromage sans présure (surtout en Angleterre où ils sont légions) ne serait pas un soucis. J'ai visité de très nombreux restaurants dans pas mal de pays et c'est la première fois que mon mari a eu le sentiment d'être coupable d'être malade. Le serveur a insisté très lourdement sur le fait que nous aurions dû le dire avant. Au final, je dois saluer le geste commercial qui a été fait car on nous a offert un voucher de £25 pour une prochaine visite. Si jamais nous y retournons, ce dont je ne suis pas encore sûre, je donnerais à nouveau mon avis, par soucis d'équité.

The meal was OK, prawn cocktail was generous and good, other starter was mainly beetroot with a tiny bit of grated apple and two tiny balls of goats cheese. Both main courses were OK but disappointing but it is good that you realise home cooking is better than eating out.

Wonderful food, beautifully crafted with exciting combinations and flavours. The service was generally courteous and efficient with only one member of staff being aloof and a little intimidating. This was a special occasion and served the purpose well. We will certainly return.

Outstanding food that far exceeded our expectations. Sensationally beautiful and tasting dishes from tasting menu. Vegetarian substitutions were magnificent, which makes a pleasant change. Superb example of Michelin quality, fine dining at its best. Vast improvement on previous iteration (Edmunds) though food was fine then too. Professional, discreet service. Thank you!

Maribel is quite nice. We were big fans of Edmunds (the former restaurant here).
Lovely atmosphere, quiet and sophisticated. Attentive staff. Food was wonderful, we went A La Carte.
Only two downsides-
Firstly, the Argentinian Pinot Noir by the glass was undrinkable. I had a couple of sips and then I simply left the rest of the glass because it tasted incredibly bitter and rough around the edges. We were disappointed as we trusted the sommelier would have curated a menu of wines by the glass of a better calibre. £10 per glass also, felt like an expensive waste. Mentioned this to one of the servers and they apologised that it was not to my taste but I do feel it was an objectively bad-tasting wine! I have never before left a glass of wine unfinished in a restaurant.
Secondly, whilst dining we heard a woman loudly explain she was here with a Groupon voucher, not what one likes to learn about whilst dining full-price. We investigated the deal after we got home and it would have saved us a considerable amount of money.
Despite these minor downsides, we may return in future as the food was delicious and the atmosphere was very agreeable.

Food was beautiful, very tasty and perfect in every way. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the service was efficient and professional. The restaurant was lovely and comfortable and very clean. It was quiet when we visited but there was music playing softly in the background which created a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, it was superb in every way.

The food was absolutely fantastic - the only thing I would mention is the men’s toilet ceilings were very stained, but other than that all was perfect !!

Three of us went last Thursday lunchtime for a taster meal. I think there were six courses and we enjoyed them all. Most were dishes we would never have ordered ourselves but the quality of taste and presentation was outstanding. Each dish was briefly described to us as it was served by friendly staff. Expensive but nice to treat ourselves occasionally!

Very good couldn't have asked for a better restaurant service and food amazing

I used to visit quite often when the restaurant was known as Edmunds. It was very good then and it is really good to see that as Maribels the restaurant continues to provide excellent quality food, brilliantly presented at reasonable prices.

I am going there with my family;y for Christmas 2019, therefore it is with no surprise that I very strongly recommend Maribels.

Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. I recommend it for a lovely dining experience and something a little different.
