    Restaurant was quiet as it was mid week and off season. Service was OK Fresh fish was good - burger was not as the bun was dry and the burger / garnish pretty average.

    What can I say . Ordered 8oz steak hand cut chips, confit mushrooms and tomato. Arrived with steak covered in basil leaves, where did the chef think that’s an an acceptable. 1 Was not confit mushrooms, 2 slices of, tomato 2 grilled slices. For this I paid £33 , this meal was exactly what Weathespoons steak night serve For a fraction of the price .Yes we chose to dine here and knew the price, but this was a shocker .

    Service and standard was excellent , food was superb and served super efficient.lovely peaceful setting where u can relax and take your time and enjoy , would strongly recommend to anyone thinking about it , also a beautiful scenic journey to get there.

    Beautiful destinations! Stayed 2 nightsWe booked for dinner. Had cocktails which were good Food delicious, waitress was amazing, senior/manager lazing about The atmosphere was poor no ambience and too bright. The tables looked like the cafe at ikes and napkins wafer thin. To drive this far one expects a high standard. Not rushing to return

    The Hake was dry and overcooked and despite telling the waitress nothing was done to rectify this other than a mumbled apology. There was no vanilla ice cream and then the whisky my husband ordered a Laphroaig was also not available. The wine we ordered a Chenin Blanc was warm and over priced. Not sure how this restaurant got two rosette’s as the food quality we experienced was definitely not worthy

    Breakfast day 1 Excellent Haddock and poached eggs. Dinner day 1 Excellent.Everyone had a great experience. Breakfast day 2 Disappointing. Bacon was fatty and tasteless. Black pudding not good. Potato scones disappointing. Poached eggs still first class. Toast, pastries and continental buffet were all very good. Staff were brilliant.

    Beautiful place to eat and meet up with friends. Food was great as per normal. Service was a bit poor as the waiter was new in his job. But I’m sure it will be top notch again soon

    Service was fantastic. Food was lovely. Lightning was far too bright made it feel like a canteen. Maybe seat couples upstairs? Make that more romantic? Couldn’t really hear any music but knew it was on.

    Potato gnocchi and pesto was absolutely delicious. Perfect place for a birthday meal. Staff were excellent and very accomodating. Beautiful view across the marina. Thank you- will be back 😊

    Fantastic food - wonderful staff, attentive, professional and friendly! Great quality as well as quantity for very reasonable prices! Highly recommend! We stayed for 4 nights so enjoyed the breakfasts too! Amazing!

    Ever since we started visiting Portavadie, the vegetarian option(s) on the main menu have always been a bit uninspiring if I'm honest. Usually I don't really expect a particularly tasty meal here as a vegetarian option. However this time I opted for some kind of Malaysian curry and it was beautiful. The most enjoyable meal I've had in ages. I couldn't believe how much better it was than the meal had expected! The only odd thing was that it was a Malaysian type curry and I didn't get a spoon for it. But it was so filling and tasty that I didn't get to the point of needing a spoon for my curry. Thanks for such a great vegetarian meal.
