Nice quiet atmosphere, very attentive staff - knowledgeable regarding food allergies. Good, nicely presented food - the fishcake starters were quite superb. Spent a pleasant 3 hours over Sunday lunch with friends.

Portavadie never disappoints. This is our 5th girls weekend away and we can’t wait for our 6th. If you haven’t been to portavadie yet, what is keeping you??? The whole experience is fabulous, 10 out of 10 from the moment you arrive. Once again thank you to all the staff your service was superb 👌👌

Had a really delicious meal here for my partners birthday in late October. Without doubt the best scallops I have ever tasted, absolutely sensational. Cod and venison for mains were also delicious. Service was very professional and attentive and would definitely return. Only downside was the cosmopolitan cocktail....£8.50 for some cranberry juice was what it felt like. Other than that, excellent

Food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The only criticism I would make was that if you were staying for more than one one night if the menu didn't change every day it was a somewhat limited choice particularly for those who weren't keen on fish dishes.

As with any enterprise there are one or two aspects which are not perfect. But judging the whole experience, the location, facilities the ambiance and food then you would have to regard it as an absolute delight. Take some cash as there is no way to tip the staff by card and there is no cash machine on site.

We had a beautiful meal. Wonderfully presented. Very tasty. Nice setting overlooking the boats in the marina. Staff very friendly and helpful. Chef did a brilliant job...I couldn't have cooked like that. Thank you.

I loved my food, but my husband wasn't too impressed with his steak. The service was fantastic, wine lovely. The only criticism I'd say is the lighting, it's a bit bright, so not much atmosphere.

Overall nice experience though.

It was very busy when we went. We felt the staff were keen to look after larger tables rather than couples. We waited 25 minutes once seated to be offered a drink including water. The food was good, just not a lot on the plate.

Food was brilliant but prices didn’t reflect the restaurant set-up/decor. Service was slow and were left at points. Service for breakfast and lunch was fantastic however.

Food very nicely presented and served timeously. Ambience and views couldn't be improved. Staff attentive, helpful and allowed small preferential changes to the set dishes. Shame about the wilted carnations on the tables. Overall a very satisfying experience.

For coffee and drinks yes, but better food at amazing value out of portavdie that’s dog friendly and much higher standard of food.

Booked a late table to have adult time in friendly atmosphere but 2 families with very small children (who were being indulged ) made the noise level harsh and thus spoiled the overall appreciation ..perhaps a request that families with children under ten age could be restricted to bar area or time limit of 7.30 in restaurant requested .. by the way I love children . Just think they shouldn't impinge on strangers enjoyment

Food was seasonal, varied and delicious. The menu choices were creative and gave the chefs' preparing them the opportunity to demonstrate great culinary skills. We had a three course meal with wine and felt we had savoured a culinary experience when we finished.

Excellent food , ambience ok but a little echoey and couldn’t really hear the background music. Lovely location . Waiting staff lovely & friendly but just a little casual - forgot a couple of things, jug of water & wine order but not too much of an issue & easily rectified.

The food, the view, and the service were all excellent, however it feels like a cafe rather than a restaurant. Simple changes like tablecloths, more appropriate chairs and a bit more atmospheric furnishings would improve the evening dinner experience immensely.

Great setting but greedy to have tables booked for lunch when there was a wedding! The noise was unbearable!! Menu limited and far too expensive and pretentious!! Have been before and menu still expensive but more suited to all ages!

We were married at Portavadie, therefore it’s a special place for us. We call them our Portavadie Family. The staff are so friendly, professional and provide a first class service...they can’t do enough for you.
The food is outstanding, the ambience in the Restuarant is relaxed and I’d recommend it wholeheartedly!! Complements to the Chef!

We arrived early but the staff couldn't have been more helpful & we went straight to our table. Service was relaxed, which suited us as we were there to enjoy the ambience before strolling back to our accommodation. All tables have great views across the Marina and down Loch Fyne to Arran - it was stunning, the perfect backdrop for our meal. I had the scallops to start & the lamb, my partner had the crab followed by the beef , then cheese. All dishes were beautifully presented and worthy of Michelin rating.

We dined here as part of a stay in one of the Marina's self catering cottages. We booked for my partner's birthday as a couple.
The staff were professional, polite, welcoming and attentive. Special mention has to go to Egil who, despite having a training badge, was all of the above, and made our visit special.
The food was competitively priced and used local ingredients. We ate everything, even though I was being a bit adventurous.
We had no room for dessert, and I had forgoten that I had mentioned my partner's birthday on booking, So we had a nice surprise when she was given a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate, accompanied by two small brownies.
Lovely views over the Marina and beyond.
We will eat here again!
