Great service overall but rude guy on the door.
Drinks offers were good but some drinks were expensive

Good night but the music was slightly quiet outside and one member of staff was quite rude when we enquired about the food order being slow. However once arrived, the pizza was delicious!

A+++ brillaint atmosphere and good priced drinks, staff are friendly and nice to see a venue following all covid rules including social distancing and one way systems. Would highly recommend 👌

Great atmosphere and staff were friendly. Not too busy either

They literally charged me an extra £19 and said they would refund me, but never did. The drinks were almost all ice but at least the waiters were really lovely.

Music was a bit too loud at times so we were shouting over each other to be able to talk, and the only other fault I can give is that we booked an outdoor table but we’re seated inside, other than that everything was great!

I don't understand why we had to book a table and select a preference to be placed. When we arrived we were located at the first table inside the bar and asked for a change while other tables were free.

Great atmosphere, great layout/venue, however the food and drink is horribly overpriced to the point where it's laughable.

Got charged twice for drinks and never received them

Too pricey for drinks especially since they got rid of the 3 trebles for £7.

It was all great apart from the prices, maybe have student nights where if you show your student card it’s 25% off?? Or do doubles for £6. Some deals would be amazing 😍😍Other than that it’s amazing xxxx

amazing atmosphere, the staff were so lovely and we got our drinks very quickly. ordered pizza and it was really good, will 100% be coming back.

We arrived and they couldn’t find our booking. Put us on a high table with chairs that are too small so we were peering over the table. Not even a third chair to put our coats. Many booths available and asked to move but were told no, even though they were taking walk ins and sitting them at nicer tables. Drinks expensive and all served in plastic cups. Will not be back.

Booked a table at Market Shaker and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Received a very warm welcome at the door by a bouncer called Brad. The venue was COVID secure and felt very safe, other venues should take a leaf out of the Market Shakers book. Will definitely be coming back x

The double vodkas were very weak , tasted like they had been watered down which was very disappointing especially paying £9.50 for 2.

Really good service, staff were really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Tables nicely spaced out which made us feel safe in relation to covid

From start to finish, market shaker was absolutely amazing! We arrived and were greeted by the lovely bouncers I think his name was Duggy. We felt very safe with all their precautions and guidelines. We will definitely be heading back this week:)

I’m so impressed that Market Shaker has continued to create a vibrant atmosphere whilst maintaining great health and safety regulations following COVID-19. By far the best place to visit in Newcastle during such an uncertain time. Market Shaker is guaranteed to be a fun time for everyone who visits.

Great experience considering the current restrictions. Definitely the best bar for covid atmosphere, but also handled in a safe manner.

Booked a table of 8 before the 6 person rule came into effect, 7 of us arrived with one running late. When they arrived they were told they couldn’t come in even though I’d booked a table of 8 people. After going back and fourth with the management we eventually managed to get him in. However drinks were good and reasonably priced as well as having a decent atmosphere even with COVID restrictions just a shame we had to argue with management.

Good music slow service

My friends and I were enjoying our evening in the outdoor area until we received grief from the bouncers you have employed. There was another group that we were friends with there and they somewhat disregarded the rules about social distancing however the group I was with did not. Several times this other group of people came over to our table and each time we asked them to leave to obey the guidelines. However when the bouncers were aware that they were breaking the rules and coming to our table it was us who were told off. We explained we had done nothing wrong and tried to ask them to tell the other group to leave us alone but they did not. In the end the bouncers completely ignored our concerns and the group of girls kept coming over to us and each time it was us who were threatened by the bouncers. They kept coming over and we were then asked to leave the premises. Your bouncers were completely unprofessional and I can vouch for that as I myself am a qualified security guard. They were flirting with the girls none stop and treated us group of boys with disrespect. Their sexist outlook later led to us being asked to leave the premises after the other group disobeyed them and we had done nothing wrong. To make matters worse we had ordered drinks moments before which we did not get to enjoy. This should be sorted before I take further action regarding serious sexism and misconduct.

Didn't rate food as bad, just didn't have any food.
I wasn't happy with us being put at a certain table without the option of going down to the bottom seating area. Wasn't sure why this was, as there were groups the same size as mine who were placed down there.

Since the coronavirus restrictions this place has just went down a bit in my opinion. I’d say for drinks with friends who aren’t students it could be a really good place to go. However if your a student I wouldn’t consider coming here . It just wasn’t the place for our group.

The bouncers were very nasty and malicious, and even those of us who were allowed in, didn’t enjoy our experience because the bouncers inside were also very rude and offensive, unnecessarily calling my friend “ignorant” - which to me seems very unprofessional (dougie being the main power hungry bouncer). Would definitely not recommend to anyone wanting to be treated with respect. Wouldn’t go back. Thumbs down.

Our recent experience at Marketshaker was enough to never warrant a return.

The place itself is null and void of any enjoyment and happiness. The bouncers patrol around like FBI agents, fulfilling their inferiority complexes to make young people’s evenings less enjoyable. One bouncer in particular is notorious for trying to get customers snapchats, all of whom are significantly younger than him. You know who you are.

The waiting staff aren’t much better. Me and my friends were sworn at multiple times for questioning the regime of the tyrannical bouncers, all in all creating a very hostile environment. These people enable the actions of the ‘security’, and are part of the problem.

Also, put trebles back on the menu. I mean it’s the only reason people enjoyed this place anyway.

The drinks were nice and the venue was well organised and adhered to social distancing well. The music was good and there was a good atmosphere however one member of staff was quite rude when bringing the order to our table. Overall, most staff were friendly and I would definitely recommend

Pizza was the best pizza I’ve ever had, drinks were cheap enough. Service wasn’t too quick but it was bank holiday so understandable. Outdoor terrace needed music and heaters. Other than that it was spot on

I am disappointed in my experience at market shaker. I felt that the drinks prices were extremely overpriced for what we received. I ordered a pitcher and I don’t think they even put any alcohol in it as it just tasted like juice. Music was average but not loud enough and we were not even allowed to dance around our area as we had to stay seated.

Horrific customer service. Very arrogant bouncers. Would not go back.

We got there on time and waited 15 minutes to even get in even though the place was very empty. After that we ordered drinks and had to complain as the took a while and I had booked a bar an hour later which I needed to get to. We asked if they could cancel the drinks she said that was fine, but didn’t cancel the drinks and still made us pay and brought them over 10 minutes later. Overall pretty poor experience with very little apology from staff saying it’s busy and they are understaffed when the place was very empty.
