Martine's River House
Seasonal Dishes. Classically Inspired. Contemporary Feel.
Tony the bartender was great and the food was awesome. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Four of us visited here for an early lunch on a sunny Sunday. The restaurant is situated in the center of the village of New Hope smack dab on the shore of the Delaware River in a modest vintage stone building. The interior is a tavern with a bar and several tables in a warm, dimly lit atmosphere. As we requested we were seated on the deck with a magnificent view of the river and bridge to New Jersey. Our server was pleasant and helpful if not particularly attentive. Dishes were not cleared from our table throughout our stay. Each of us readily found something appealing on the menu. The Miso steamed mussels were plump and succulent and the Little Gem Caesar perfect for lunch. The burgers were cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The ingredients of all of our choices appeared fresh and nicely prepared. We found Martine's to be a delightful place to while away a weekend afternoon.
The view was fantastic! We sat outside on the porch overlooking the Delaware River and the bridge to Lambertville. This appears to be one of the few restaurants in New Hope with outside tables along the river, a tremendous plus.
Service on a Saturday evening was slow and uneven. After a great start, the quality of service declined. We had to ask the server about coffee and dessert when he brought the check.
Always an enjoyable lunch on the outside deck overlooking the water and the bridge.
Nice outdoor patio but mediocre food. Good service.
If you like to go to dinner with a date and watch him use his laptop, take calls, and emails it’s a great place.
Enjoyed sitting outside on deck overlooking the Delaware. Server was very friendly, food was delicious, and prices were reasonable. Will definitely go back, either again on deck if weather permits, or inside.
Martine’s has a beautiful riverfront deck when the weather permits. Otherwise the interior restaurant is equally charming. The food is consistently good as well as the service.
It was nice to seat outside. The food is decent but not exciting and I wish there was a brunch menu on the week end. The service was professional but very slow. Lackluster in my opinion.
Good food and great view. Service was slow but sitting outdoors was good since the view is so nice.
Worse meal I’ve had ever, and I dine out a lot. Not sure how this place gets an average rating of 4.2. Never had a problem with open table ratings, but this place is not rated accurately. My chicken meal was was the worse constructed meal I’ve ever had. Supposed to be a half roasted chicken. No way it was roasted. I had a few bites only and ate no more. My fiancé ate more of her pork Milanese, but she had stomach issues all night. Seems like a job for a Gordon Ramsey TV show save. Place should be shut down.
Great ambiance! Good good! Fantastic service!
Martine was very rude at the hostess station. It soured the the experience for me. Once she realized I was with someone she knew, she stared being nice. Won’t return
Price at first seemed a little high but the quality of service and food was well worth the cost.
It was lovely... sat outside alongside the river. Because we booked and ate early, we had the entire patio to ourselves. Sean was our very attentive and well informed server, and made everything perfect. Food was delicious- loved the pork Milanese w/ blueberry balsamico sauce. Meatball appetizer was terrific. Highly recommend.
Loved everything about this place! Service was prompt, food was delicious!
While the location is fantastic, the menu is very limited and exorbitantly priced. A simple pasta dish, not even handmade pasta was 30 dollars.
We love enjoying the delicious food and spectacular view! Our favorite is the Ribeye!
This was our first experience and we loved the food, the service, and the beautiful view. It was a perfect night.
A very pleasant experience all around. Great food and service. Would definitely go back.
Food not as good as it used to be. Mussels were tiny and broth not very tasty. Service was slow even though not crowded, and no one there to greet us for quite a while. Seem to be understaffed.
1. Food was good for the most part (except for my meal - meat cooked incorrectly and don’t think it was a rib eye)
2. Service was okay - has to ask for things instead of standard things given (ie water, sugar)
Not clear why service and food were average considering there was a limited clientele - restaurant was empty.
Always a good place to eat. Food is very good and the staff is friendly. One of my go to places when spending time in New Hope PA
Overpriced, have dined here many times, food cold, service sub par. A real disappointment- we wondered why it was the only place with tables and guess we know why. Not sure if they’ve changed ownership or chef but terrible all round other than th setting
Had a wonderful lunch before seeing “Always Patsy”
Martine's is consistently excellent. The chef takes pride in exquisite preparation and seasonal ingredients. I don't know what the other reviewers have against the drinks. My husbands beet vodka cocktail was fantastic! Martine's is our favorite New Hope restaurant
Our server was very friendly as well as all of the staff. The food was delicious. It got a little warm in the building when everybody else left around us. My fish was A little over cooked but was very flavorful.
Service was a little discombobulated and one person in our party was unhappy with the lamb meatballs, but the waiter took that item off the bill.
I understand during the summer, being next to a body of water there are going to be more bugs than normal. But you would think, a place that basically markets itself for having a great outdoor space next to the river would invest in a bug zapper or two. Not to mention the silver dollar sized spiders crawling around everywhere. Food was ok, service was fine.
Beautiful setting, but the food and service were lackluster. There are many outstanding restaurants in New Hope that we prefer.
We really enjoyed sitting outside with the river view. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious!
loved everything! the ambiance of being on the river, great waiters, delicious food and the COCONUT CAKE WAS OUTSTANDING!!!k
Awesome dining experience. Ambiance was perfect for a summer evening. Fireworks was an additional bonus!
Had a great dinner and our waiter, Brian, was awesome! I recommend the coconut margarita
We had a fabulous lunch before a show at the Bucks County Playhouse at the other end of the parking lot. The lunch menu had many dishes that appealed to us; we wish we could have enjoyed them all! We had a red beet / goat cheese / greens salad and pork / kim chi tacos. We lucked into a 80 degree day, so we ate on the deck and enjoyed the Delaware River, ducks, boats, and scenery of Lambertville, NJ. Our server was delightful and there when we needed him for a coffee refresher. I highly recommend Martine's!
The food was not prepared as requested. The service has been better. Hopefully, thuus was juyst an off niught. I've been there before when it was much much better.
Food was okay nothing special and the service takes forever.
Great food and wonderful outdoor seating on the river.
Food and ambiance was excellent. Portions a bit small for the prices
