Masalchi brings The Spice Master's street food to the globally renowned entertainment district and 365-day neighbourhood of Wembley Park. Chef Atul Kochhar celebrates the abundance of India’s spices with his nourishing dishes designed for sharing. Masalchi’s unpretentious street food is served Indian tapas-style in a relaxed and sociable setting. The Pan-Indian menu features dishes discovered by Kochhar at provincial markets during his back-street travels and street food experiences. Masalchi explores an authentic carnival of spices in a selection of fragrant curries, juicy grills, satisfying half plates and Handi, Masala, & Kalia dishes.

Well laid out spacious interior with tall ceilings and a spacious feel. The food menu is akin to a tapas menu. Some of the dishes samples were good , tasty. However , represent poor value for money given the quantity of food being served. The Sundal dish was the best of the lot but the use of roasted peanuts could be avoided. The aloo tikki chaat was tasteless and bland and needs much improvement to be edible. The paneer tikka was great in terms of taste but way overpriced when compared to similar offerings around the market and area. All in all a good effort by Atul. Will do well with a couple of enhancements and probably go lighter on the price or increase the quantities a bit. Would not recommend at the current price / value point.

The food in general was very tasty, if not quite spicy. It was my parents anniversary and in general a good night. The staff were relatively attentive if not a bit clumsy such as spilling the water and forgetting to bring a few things asked for, they also brought out the tiniest dessert to celebrate the occasion with three spoons which was quite embarrassing. The rice and bread also came later than most the mains. I think there is some fine tuning needed but overall a good experience.

My first time at Masalchi, was really looking forward to it, unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The staff were lovely but sadly the food wasn't as tasty as I had hoped for. We were a party of 2 and not very hungry , so ordered 6 small plates. This was plenty of food for us but sadly the taste and flavours were disappointing, the only dish I would recommend was the chicken 65.

It was our first time at Masalchi. Since we have known about this restaurant,we were sure to try this for our wedding anniversary. Food was really tasty, portions were great, both for sharing and per person. Service was very friendly, they suggested a few dishes and drinks which me and my husband really appreciated . Overall, loved it!

Went at lunch time, the restaurant was empty. I am vegetarian and my husband non veg. I had the samosa with chickpea curry, Aloo Kachori and masala chips for starters. My husband had the Bun Kebab. We both enjoyed the samosa, the Aloo Kachori was very dry, my husband enjoyed the Bun Kebab a lot. The masala chips were okay each chip was huge. For mains as I did not fancy anything with potatoes or chickpeas in it so tried the jackfruit and lotus seed biriyani, my first try of jack fruit, it was okay, I did not like the taste of the lotus seed. My husband agreed. He had the chicken for main, he found dry. For dessert we tried the gajar halwa it was beautifully presented. Tasted okay. My husband ordered the ginger tea, which was poured from a beautifully decorated teapot, he enjoyed the tea. Overall it was average, nothing special.

Good option for fine dining for Indian food which isn't really available in the area. Food portions were good and appears decent value in comparison to other local restaurants especially once you factor in a better dining experience and food quality. The produce seems to be the difference

As a big fan of Sindu in Marlow I was very keen to try this new establishment. This is not the fine dining experience, taster menus etc as at Marlow but what a a pleasure to sample this street food menu. Every plate freshly cooked, the palate was truly tested with fabulous spices. The staff were really attentive and friendly. As for cost, unbelievably outstanding value. Just 4 mins from Wembly Park Station next to the designer outlet. Hope this becomes a chain of resteraunts, cant fail. Will definately be returning to try other plates.

Having never been to the area where Masalchi is found we initially struggled to find it, our fault. We parked in the Gold Carpark near the Hilton in Longsdale Avenue. The food was very good. I would have liked a little more variety of meat dishes, but otherwise was very happy as were the other three at our table. The price of dishes are reasonable

The food is good. The portions are not so generous. The service needs a lot of improvements. The waitress we had was not attentive to our needs and not so friendly either. We asked for a jug of water for the table and we were refused. Our waitress said she would top up our glasses when needed. We needed to remind her a few times to top up our glasses. We asked for suggestions and she wasn't too helpful or enthusiastic.

Attentive waiter, explained concept of food & service as "Indian Tapas". Perhaps this explains the haphazard order in which the food was brought to the table ??? Salt content of food too high. Overall great ambience. Portion sizes ok, allows you to try bits of everything.

Some delicious and unique dishes, definitely consistent with what you'd expect from such a highly regarded chef. Waiting staff are polite, informative and quick to help. Only really one negative, which was that the food was generally quite spicy - despite us requesting mild spice. Overall - its worth the money and the food is high quality. I'll be going again and recommend this restaurant to others.

Unfortunately not all dishes tased as good as they looked. Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Aloo, Masala Chips and Chicken 65 tasted bland. Chicken Spinich tasted better but nothing unique about the taste. Im sure I have tasted this dish in other restaurants with same taste. Naan was ok in taste. My mums veggie dishes were decent as well as the cocktails. Over priced and starters were poor in taste. Masala chips need to be renamed masala wedges. Asked for one of our cocktails with less ice. Came with loaded ice. Waitress acknowledged that instructions werent followed but stopped short of replacing. Later, ordered another drink and same thing happened.

The service was good, had a nice decor, and was very nicely located. However this was sadly let down by very small portions, and very expensive prices. We were told by a waitress beforehand that their food is designed for sharing (tapas style, 4-5 plates) we ordered prawns, chicken wings, masala fries, and onion bhaji. The masala fries were just fried wedges in batter, and there were just 4 small prawns both with sauces that didn't have much seasoning at all, the chicken wings were okay but once again only seasoned on the skin. Our crowd of 3 have all been to tapas before, and even their portions were bigger, and not as expensive as Masalchi. For drinks, we ordered Nimbu Pani, half ginger tea tea, pineapple & coconut Lassi and Mint tea. The ginger tea as well as the lassi were quite nice, but the mint tea didn't even have any mint leaves in the cup and had a very faint taste. The Nimbu pani just tasted like plain Lemonade. We also ordered mains, both jack fruit curry as well as the Lamb Biriyani. Both dishes were salty, oily and had no spice in it at all. I don't think we have ever had biriyani's that were salty as well as having no spice. The only saving grace for the lamb biriyani was that the lamb was cooked nicely. For a mains dish as well as the jack fruit biriyani the portions were as mentioned previously, small. We had checked the Google reviews of this place beforehand, and I have to say they are spot on with complaints being about small portion size, food being salty and very expensive. It is a real shame as we were looking forward to coming here since it's opening, only to be let down by what I have stated in this review in the above. To conclude, there are better places around than Masalchi, especially value, price, portion size and taste. Unfortunately we will not be coming back here, nor could we recommend this restuarant. I really do think Atul and the team need to look at the reviews and change a few things going forward.

Beware that the portions are small for the price and so no sharing!! Taste was good, it’s meant to be a quick in and out place like a Indian tapas place designed for visitors who are there for events, not really for us discerning locals. Unlike Atul’s other restaurants, this is more like a casual dining experience when you are in a rush to eat before your concert or match. Lastly, if you are asked your opinion by the manager on ‘what you thought’, don’t bother to waste your breath on constructive criticism, it will be met with reasons why you are wrong! Don’t go if you are hungry and on a budget!

Brand New restaurant so lots to be forgiven. Real lack of ambience or any sort of vibe in there. The Mixture of fine dining style Indian tapas mixed with basic rustic decor really didn’t mix well. Great tasting food verging on the edge of being too expensive for the portion sizes. Experience was rushed, was in & out in 35 minutes. Young staff (assuming local students) were friendly, but did not seem confident in assuring customers when offering recommendations etc. Will look to visit next year as food was great, hopefully just a few teething issues as it’s so new!
