Good food, staff were friendly and happy to make recommendations on cocktails & steak.
Both steak and chicken were fantastic and service was great
Delicious steaks and sides, especially the tomato and feta salad. beautiful building too!
Love MASH. Post proposal dinner, staff were lovely and made a special evening, exceptional. Good always excellent.
At a steakhouse you expect a thick charred steak with decadent sides. Unfortunately, Mash did not live up to this standard, charging top sterling for a very thin underwhelming steak. It was evident that the grill top was not hot enough as the char marks were almost non-existent. The sides were nothing to write home about, as an example the Mac and Cheese, which has now become a steakhouse staple, showed up dry and tasteless. The harsh criticism comes from over the top prices with underwhelming steaks. Service was on par and the ambiance is quite nice but I would not recommend this as a top steakhouse in London.
Nice restaurant but very expensive. Food was cold and sadly they got some of our meat orders wrong. But unfortunate.
Bar service very poor. We had to keep going up to bat to order instead of being waited on at table.
Great steak, great sides(mash potato) great drinks and great decor. 10/10
I went once already and I had a really nice memory. This dinner did not dissapoint. Food was really good and service as well. I recommand.
Great service and amazing food. Would definately go back. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly
Very expensive for ordinary food. Also drinks over priced!!! Poor service as we where only 6 people and they mixed our order, forgot things we ordered...etc
Beautiful restaurant with lovely food and ambience, polite waiter who provided good service but wasn't pushy or tried to sell or up-sell anything. It was my second visit to this restaurant and I definitely intend on coming back!
Had a fantastic meal at MASH before visiting the theatre on Saturday for our wedding anniversary.
It is retro and stylish with its Art Deco interior and you instantly feel like you're going to be looked after when you walk in and the cloakroom staff take your coats, brollies etc.
There is a fantastic cocktail menu (which are equally tasty- I tried 2) and choice of spirits. The barmen are attentive and friendly.
We were sat at a quiet booth on the right side of the restaurant and I was worried that it would lack atmosphere but the restaurant swiftly filled and was quite buzzy. We each had steak, fillet & ribeye both from Uruguay which were charred, juicy and perfectly cooked.
The cheesecake was gorgeous and the. “Happy Anniversary” decoration was a lovely touch.
Overall we had a great meal my only tiny criticism would be that the restaurant staff were a little too attentive. We were asked three times if our meal was ok while eating, which is nice but you felt a little “watched”.
Went here for my sons 21st family dinner. A lovely evening, food was great and the service was excellent, will definitely be coming back
Excellent all round. Destroyed my wallet but for the money very good. Amazing atmosphere and staff were awesome!!
Never been to this restaurant before and wanted to try it out as a potential new place to take colleagues and clients. Service was awful, we got left on a table for 30 minutes at the bar with other tables who arrived after us being served way before us. You could never catch a waiter’s eye. I had to go up to the bar to order and even then they took another 20 mins to come with drinks. They even initially gave our drinks to the wrong table. Food was extremely over priced for what it was. Really gutted as it was a perfect location and had such amazing potential to become a regular for business meetings etc and somewhere I would’ve gone to with my partner too.
Room is huge and on the night we visited there was a function for 100 going on in the restaurant which was very noisy. They had speeches with a pa system and lots of clapping and cheering that spoilt the ambience of the restaurant. Other than that food and service was good
30 min. Wartezeit zwischen Platzierung und Bestellung Aufnahme
2. Tisch platziert neben die Küche ( mit ein lehrest Restaurant )
3. ca. 50 min auf das Essen gewartet
Great steak restaurant/ lots of energy and it’s really lovely. Steak is good and the choice of sides is fabulous. Great evening out. Service a little slow but it didn’t detract from the night. Thanks.
Used to really like this restaurant but its gone down hill, seams like they are struggling like many restaurants,
Mash has always been a firm favourite of mine, i have dined here so many times i could not count. Imagine how disappointed i was then on our last visit, it seemed like the place had been taken over by employees from Mcdonalds.
Poor service right from the get go, waiters not knowing what they do or don't have and when they do take the order have the nerve to make you feel as though your being a nuisance.
The food as always was good, thank god, nowhere else would i accept spending £800 on a meal !
All in all this experience has left me disappointed to the point where this is our last visit, i'm certain there are many other restaurants around the area that would be glad of our custom, there is just no excuse for poor service any more, especially at the prices being charged.
It's been a good 5years visiting Mash, i'm sure they will continue to wow other diners, just no longer me.
I went with my Boyfriend, were only 17 but were treated like any other customer. Food was amazing and service very good. Staff cery knowlegeble about the food (steaks imparticular). Lovely evening.
Service was rubbish - the manager on duty was rude and unhelpful. No effort was made to accommodate request of a client and order was incorrect
We went to MASH to celebrate my fathers 70th birthday - which they knew because I wrote it in the booking. Coming from Denmark, we decided that the best way to celebrate it would be in a Danish restaurant.
It was all very nice in the beginning, but during the maincourse, a very unpleasant smell appeared - it smelled like gasoline or some other kind of chemical.
We asked our waitress what it was - she to could smell it and asked the Manager! She came back after a couple of minutes, and informed us that someone was painting the building next door at 9:30 pm.!!?!
They could not do anything about it, so we just had to accept it.
Since 4 out of 5 got a headache and nausea from it - we decided to leave the restaurant immediatly after the maincourse.
This very unpleasant experience was not what we had in mind for his birthday.
We did not get any kind of compensation or the choice of moving to another table.
It was all in all a very very disapointing experience.
Good food, great waiters and nice booth settings. A formal and mature venue for steak lovers.
Night out with the family. First time at MASH. Incredible experience. Decor was first class, as was the service and the quality of the food
Our first visit to MASH but most definitely not our last.
Been to MASH over 50 times over the years and usually it is excellent. However on Saturday the service was dreadful. We waited 45 minutes for our table (despite it being a reservation) and were only seated after we chased the server twice. The server then took us to the table without bringing our drinks over. The waiter we had failed to tell us about the specials and overall the service was slow and inattentive. The waiter then had the audacity to complain when we asked for the £45 service charge to be removed due to how poorly they looked after us.
Decent steak but far too expensive, especially considering all sides were extra - including a sauce. Huge dining room with little ambience. Booths were large and comfy and not at all crowded as in some expensive restaurants, but the size of the dining room made it seem like some enormous cafeteria. Good wine list - but again too much mark-up.
Great night at MASH for our birthdays. Second time we've visited and the food was as amazing as the first visit. We weren't rushed from our table and the service was impeccable. The lighting is very low but does add to the ambiance. Would have liked a bigger cocktail menu at the bar before dinner.
Had dinner with my husband in Mash on Friday. The food was great especially the spinach with gruyere- best spinach I ever had, maccaroni and cheese were great and the rib eye - especially the Scottish one was excellent. I did not like the chips and the jalapenos as much. The wine was amazing - great malbec, most wines are on the pricier side. Service was great but the atmosphere was not up to my taste personally - the lighting was not nice - looked great on the booths but not on the side tables and the red furniture was a bit too masculine and basic looking and the whole place is just a big too big. However, booths are nice for a date night or friends get together and great food.
Lovey meal at MASH! Great service, food and beer - can’t ask for more!
Had a delicious pre theatre set menu before seeing Aladdin for our anniversary. We were amazed by the standard of food, the speed of courses coming out as we needed to get out before the show and the attentiveness of the staff was second to none. This basement restaurant is a hidden gem with 1920's America vibe - jazz music playing in the background and beautiful decor. The set menu was great value for money and the food was delicious!
Would highly recommend
Delicious food in an incredible setting, ideal for a long overdue catch-up with a friend or special date night. We both had the 3-course dinner (£30 each) , a bottle of red wine (£39) & shared a side (£4), plus service (£13) all from the set-menu if seated before 7pm. Note: The steak and only one side feels a little bare on the plate so definitely worth getting an extra one to share at least.
This restaurant exceeded my expectations. Impeccable service, the most attentive I've ever had in London. Great at recommending what to have. Steak cooked perfectly, all sides presented very well. Slightly pricy but here you literally get what you pay for -- and it's totally worth it! Will definitely return.
Been here several times and really enjoyed each time!
I hadn’t heard of this Modern American SteakHouse restaurant before but was recommended it by someone I trust and he was right: it does very good steak. The staff were perhaps unsure about how to deliver something special for our occasion but they did their jobs and were open to us being a bit whimsical with our interest in their selection of gins
Amazing food & service.
Pics are very deceiving, the restaurant and bar are huge. Tables are lovely, lots of room.
Cant wait to go again
We did the Theatre Menu after a west end show and it was a wonderful meal, the staff were great, love the atmosphere and feel of the venue. Would definitely go again.
Fabulous food and very polite staff. I totally love this place.
