Great lunch, super food and service and they were great in helping us with our wine tasting.
Fantastic food - lacking in atmosphere
Food was amazing, staff were attentive without getting in the way. Cost a little more than I'd expected (sides are extra for example), but well worth the money. Already planning on going back with the family. There was live music playing while we were there, the volume level was perfect, you could hear the music and still carry on a conversation at normal speaking volume.
This is overall a really nice restaurant, however, i never thought i would complain about fast service. From arriving at the restaurant to finishing 2 courses only took 45 minutes which is fine if you are restricted on time or want to eat quickly. However, we were there to celebrate an anniversary and as the food came so quick (the starters arrived with the drinks) we felt rushed and had to leave before we wanted to as it felt we were just sitting there.
Enjoyed both my Starter and Main course. To some the good nights seem pricey but you get what you pay for and you can taste the quality in the meat. Also the service was warm and friendly. I highly recommend coming to MASH.
I am afraid absolutely no atmosphere.
Would not go again as disappointed
We had a amazing time, food was excellent, service was excellent, ambiance and decor are great. I would 100% recommend it to any meat lover! We will definitely go back. Thank you!
Service in this place is absolutely amazing, friendly and quick. Uruguay fillet was yummy but Danish one didn't quite match our tastes. The place is expensive but if you have an important event or want to really impress your guests, then this will be the right choice for you. For us it's definitely not a place where we'll be coming back every month because of the price, plus there are lots of cheaper steak places in London which offer the same quality of food. Overall very positive experience.
Lovely venue for a pre-theatre dinner. Very good value for the food and drinks. Service was attentive, venue was quiet, but started to get busy when we were leaving. Would recommend.
In London for the day sightseeing and then to watch Les Miserables, we went to MASH for their pre-theatre menu served from 5.30pm. The restaurant itself is very impressive a former dance-hall or ballroom in the 1950's. Its stunning inside in a 1920's style art deco, impressive entrance and bar and dining area. Main dining area is American diner style with bays to sit in. The service was outstanding from start to finish, we were met at street level by reception then escorted down 2 flights of large grand spiral staircase to the bar area receiption. We were a little early so had a drink at the bar. The bar staff were knowledgeable and attentive. We were then escorted to our table and quickly given the relevant menus. We ordered food and selected a wine with the excellent help of a new wine sommelier a young lady from France who was very patient and knowledgeable with us, the wine list is huge and extremely expensive even by London's standards. The food arrived very promptly. As we ate off their theatre menu we anticipated that it would be a smaller reduced menu, cheaper and smaller portions I assume from the normal menu, judging by the price different. The theatre menu was £22 each for 2 courses, the choices were salad or selection of cured meats, then 8oz steak, chicken or a veggie option with 1 side. We choose the salad and cold meats, both were very small and quite ordinary. We were asked how we wanted our steaks which was rare and medium-rare, they both came medium-rare, but that was ok. The steaks were quite small and came with 1 side each no veg or anything as that was your side, we left quite hungry to be fair. As it was our anniversary they brought over a small chocolate cake as a extra which was a nice touch. I cannot fault the service, the cleanliness, the actual surroundings, but the food in terms of value for money was not good. Probably won't return on this basis. Bill was £117 for 2 with 2 small drinks in the bar and 1 bottle of wine.
Amazing steaks with incredibly friendly and helpful staff - a really enjoyable experience
Great experience, my gf loved it, was the best steak I have ever had, wagu was pricey but worth it, the danish steak was a thing of beauty. The staff were polite knew their stuff and made the evening very pleasent.
The whole experience was exceptional. Thanking their staff for a wonderful evening.
I came here for my partners 30th and we weren’t disappointed. Lovely food and atmosphere
When we arrived at the restaurant we were quickly seated, but we did not get the menu until 5 minutes after we sat down(the restaurant was not even half full). We were then asked if we wanted wine, which we politely decline and ordered beers instead, since we had been drinking wine the two previous days at Hakkasan and Social Eating House. About 10 min later the waiter came back to take our order, which was served fairly quickly. After eating approximately half of our meal we noticed that no one had come to ask us if the food was any good or if we needed anything else, they just walked straight past us every time avoiding eye contact. The couple sitting next to us, which had ordered wine, was ask several times if they needed anything and if the food was good. Once we finished the meal, the waiter came to clean the table and even this time he didn’t ask if the food was good. We received the dessert menus 10 min later, but we had to wait another 15 min before we were asked if we wanted to order any desserts. We told the waiter about our disappointment and that we would eat our dessert elsewhere. He told us he was ashamed about the service and that he would let the staff know, but he was the one we had been talking to the whole evening. The food was good, but the service was ABSOLUTELY terrible. I have been to MASH in Copenhagen previously and the service there is way better. What happened to the service? I’m utterly disappointed since I had such a good impression from MASH in Copenhagen.
Once again, a thoroughly enjoyable evening of top quality service. The food is outstanding and the ambiance perfect. I would highly recommended a visit to anyone, although probably for special occasions as it is not the cheapest of evenings out.
Usually really good food but this tone wasn’t so great, starters were great but some of the food on the main course was bland. Also I had stomach ache when I got home (and I hadn’t eaten anything else that day to account for it).
Perfect restaurant cannot fault it!
Staff were amazing and made the night extra special will definitely return!
I took both my husband and daughter for lunch on 1st September to celebrate both of there birthdays, despite saying we were in for birthday’s nothing was made of this or offered . The food was excellent and we had a lovely time, the barman knew his cocktails and was extremely friendly, all waiting staff were good and attentive, if I had to pick up on anything it would be that our food was served at the table whilst one of us were away from the table visiting the powder room.
But all in all an enjoyable event
Beautiful ambience, service was great and the food was delicious especially for the price we paid. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
We had a pre theatre dinner at MASH. The food and service was excellent, we had an amazing Malbec, which was their house wine. Great offer of 2 courses for £25.00. Will definately be going back.
Been to MASH a few times, as always, the service was great, the steak even greater!
The food is very good. The bread is delicious. The sides, steaks, and desserts are amazing. It is in a neat building.
Disappointing evening dinner, considering the prices on the menu. Cold meat, cold fries, cold potatomash. Pepper sauce with no taste. We tried the Kobe beef and shared 100 grams. When you pay 115 pounds for 100 grams, you expect a clean and nice cut. Positives must be the Cheesecake and very good drinks/cocktails. Pro bartenders. Friendly staff.
Excellent Uruquay rib eye steak and desserts but poor sides.
Sides are £4.50 each. The chips seem to be of the frozen variety and were over cooked, dry, tasteless and tepid. Green salad was just a few mixed leaves, but they let you poor your vinaigrette on which is great.
I have not eaten such a tender steak and the service and delivery of the food was very fast.
Complementary bread at the start was interesting. Crusted in salt (beware for those who have to reduce their salt intake), but again was dry.
Floor staff were polite and efficient.
I did contact them before hand for a food allergy and they were very helpful in highlighting which items on the menu were permitted.
Great service, lovely Art Deco setting and superb steak including Tomahawk special! Impressive wine list too.
Unforuneltey it seems that Mash fulfills the typical bad attributes of an American chain restaurant abroad. Overall very price and dull flavors. I missed creativity and seasonal flavours.
Service and steaks are excellent! Sauces were weak (red wine and pepper), but minor issue compared to overall! Would return.
Very enjoyable. Exceptional food. Fabulous cocktails and wine in a wonderfully old American opulent dining hall.
The food quality has seriously gone down hill. Poor quality steak, I actually get better at the local butcher. Seriously disappointed.
Really great food and excellent service. Not noisy. Good value for money pre theatre.
Excellent service and very tasty food. We loved our meal and appreciated the birthday dessert. The cocktails were brilliant. Overall ambience very good.
Had the most amazing dinner and the service was undoubtedly faultless, would highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning whenever in town.
The steak was the best I have ever eaten, the waiter guided us through the menu and gave his opinion when asked. We were tended to very promptly and discreetly. The atmosphere was just right. An amazing meal, will 100% be returning.
The service is always excellent from front of house, bar and service.
Excellent menu and great steaks ofcourse.
Nice touch that waiter realised it was a birthday and brought a small celebratory dessert.
Wine list comprehensive but overpriced.
I proposed in this restaurant. Unbelievable place.
Beautiful place, perfect food!
Had the 2 course Summer Menu. Beautiful food at a great price. Gorgeous restaurant. Very busy staff but attentive service. Would definitely recommend.
