Excellent steaks and sides, friendly but somewhat inattentive service, comfortable seating but a bit loud.
Starter menu limited and expensive. Steaks great but service very patchy - drinks were brought at different times. We felt rushed. Dessert menu uninspiring - w didn’t buy any.
The disorganised cloakroom also let them down. They mislaid scarves and a coat.
American Ribeye was amazing !
We arrived for our 2:30 dinner reservation on time,We made our way to the bar for a drink before being seated, and then straightaway we were told we had to go to our table, on studying the menu we were told by the waiter that we needed to hurry up as the kitchen was closing at 3 PM, so we were all very disappointed as this was a very important business lunch and not something we wanted to rush, mash should not give a dinner reservation at 2:30 and then tell the guest the kitchen closes at 3:00pm, The whole experience seemed really rushed then The staff could not wait to get us out of the door for the next table sitting.
Good food but very very disappointed with their rushed service attitude.
Amazing and utterly delicious. Great quality. Informed staff.
Great food and decor.
Expected better service given the reputation and quality of the establishment. Several staff members seemed to lack basic skills one would expect.
Fantastic as always. My fraternity brothers and I have been coming to Mash every Christmas for the past 7 years. We've never had a disappointing visit. Ever. Food and service are always on point. We love everything about this place, hence why it is ALWAYS our Christmas restaurant of choice.
If you love your steak this is the place to go. The Cote du boeuf was amazing main and the Oxtail consume for starter. But all the food around our table was of the highest quality. The wine was awesome and the service was just right.
This is a wonderful place for a romantic meal for too, a little pricey but the food is sublime! The best steak in London!
Mains arrived before the starter was cleared
Service was poor with them forgetting dishes ordered . None of us would return
Incredible steak, incredible sides and incredible drinks! Throw in a beautiful setting and excellent service and what more could you really want?
Very impressive venue - staff are very accommodating. The food was very nice
Staff had a bit of an attitude we found but the restaurant was beautiful and menu extensive. Food wasn’t hot though but warm enough.
Atmosphere was great. I would recommend if you can put up with the waitresses attitude!
Food was lovely but we had a table booked a 8pm, at 8.25pm I reminded a member of staff that we were waiting and we were taken to a table at that point so think we had been forgotten. The chap serving us wasn’t very smiley and didn’t really speak or try to make any kind of conversation but the steak was amazing so we will return. Don’t live in London , come from Suffolk so a little disappointed as it was a special treat to ourselves for our 25th wedding Anniversary. But we will return 👍
Very good steak but not the best restaurant experience. One example was our starter course arrived before the wine. Would recommend spending that sort of money on a good traditional restaurant instead
The steak wasn’t prepared like I ordered and the meat wasn’t the best quality
Food excellent very poor service , not offered another drink nor dessert or coffee . Waited forty minutes after main meal and plates still not cleared . Decided to go elsewhere for coffee and dessert
Hostess upon arrival downstairs was extremely rude and unprofessional (we were stuck in traffic). Waitress was nice but forgot to order my bone marrow side order. Waitress wine advice was poor. Good food , good space but service is poor.
very very good, only disappointment is I asked twice over the phone for a dessert plate (which I would of paid for) but it never came.
Great food and excelent service. The waiter was so sweet and did every thing so we would feel good.
Food was ok, £65 bone in ribeye very fatty, slow service and burger was medium to rare(blood on the bun) which had to go back. Would I go again probably not, was it ok overall, yes but nothing to tell your friends about
It is probably 3 years since we last went to MASH and 5 since we first visited, enjoyed it and recommended it to others. Oh dear oh dear how times have changed.
It is difficult to find anything positive at all about MASH theses days except it was easy to book at short notice (that should have aroused suspicion) and our waiter was pleasent enough. The rest of the expereience was poor, when did MASH go so downmarket, beer swilling lads and raucous hen groups on a night out and OMW the food was just so below average.
The prawn linguini starter sounded appealing from the description on the menu but the quality of the prawns, awful tomato "sauce" was just shameful and was returned. The waiter responded with a knowing wink and said "i know I am Italian and I think it is awful too". The lobster risotto starter was acceptabe but £17 for a very small starter portion.
The fries were soggy and wet, the roasted peper amateurish and the spinach just sloppy.
Appaling, unless you want overpriced pub food.
When you enter here you need to go down to -2 floor in the elevator . When you arrive you are greeted to a very large bar and restaurant with lovely red seats throughout. Nice soft lighting and comfortable seats. The cocktail list is not very impressive really as the focus is on all things Bourbon and very little else. The food list is quite extensive with steak the speciality which comes in all different types and sizes. You need to be very hungry before you dine here as the portions are huge. I had the sirloin steak which was delicious but they all looked just as good though. They have fish dishes too but I am a steak man and they did not disappoint. A good selection of starters too but if you are going to choose steak for your main course you don't really need a starter. The waiters are very efficient and no waiting to be served either. There are there immediately. The wine waiter was equally efficient and explained the various wines in fine detail as we was having a job deciding. His decision was spot on too. There was an abundance of waiters on duty so even though the restaurant was packed solid nobody had to wait for service. A very good place to eat but remember to arrive very hungry. Your appetite will be fulfilled in no time.
Good food, staff were friendly and happy to make recommendations on cocktails & steak.
Both steak and chicken were fantastic and service was great
Delicious steaks and sides, especially the tomato and feta salad. beautiful building too!
Love MASH. Post proposal dinner, staff were lovely and made a special evening, exceptional. Good always excellent.
At a steakhouse you expect a thick charred steak with decadent sides. Unfortunately, Mash did not live up to this standard, charging top sterling for a very thin underwhelming steak. It was evident that the grill top was not hot enough as the char marks were almost non-existent. The sides were nothing to write home about, as an example the Mac and Cheese, which has now become a steakhouse staple, showed up dry and tasteless. The harsh criticism comes from over the top prices with underwhelming steaks. Service was on par and the ambiance is quite nice but I would not recommend this as a top steakhouse in London.
Nice restaurant but very expensive. Food was cold and sadly they got some of our meat orders wrong. But unfortunate.
Bar service very poor. We had to keep going up to bat to order instead of being waited on at table.
Great steak, great sides(mash potato) great drinks and great decor. 10/10
I went once already and I had a really nice memory. This dinner did not dissapoint. Food was really good and service as well. I recommand.
Great service and amazing food. Would definately go back. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly
Very expensive for ordinary food. Also drinks over priced!!! Poor service as we where only 6 people and they mixed our order, forgot things we ordered...etc
Beautiful restaurant with lovely food and ambience, polite waiter who provided good service but wasn't pushy or tried to sell or up-sell anything. It was my second visit to this restaurant and I definitely intend on coming back!
Had a fantastic meal at MASH before visiting the theatre on Saturday for our wedding anniversary.
It is retro and stylish with its Art Deco interior and you instantly feel like you're going to be looked after when you walk in and the cloakroom staff take your coats, brollies etc.
There is a fantastic cocktail menu (which are equally tasty- I tried 2) and choice of spirits. The barmen are attentive and friendly.
We were sat at a quiet booth on the right side of the restaurant and I was worried that it would lack atmosphere but the restaurant swiftly filled and was quite buzzy. We each had steak, fillet & ribeye both from Uruguay which were charred, juicy and perfectly cooked.
The cheesecake was gorgeous and the. “Happy Anniversary” decoration was a lovely touch.
Overall we had a great meal my only tiny criticism would be that the restaurant staff were a little too attentive. We were asked three times if our meal was ok while eating, which is nice but you felt a little “watched”.
Went here for my sons 21st family dinner. A lovely evening, food was great and the service was excellent, will definitely be coming back
Excellent all round. Destroyed my wallet but for the money very good. Amazing atmosphere and staff were awesome!!
Never been to this restaurant before and wanted to try it out as a potential new place to take colleagues and clients. Service was awful, we got left on a table for 30 minutes at the bar with other tables who arrived after us being served way before us. You could never catch a waiter’s eye. I had to go up to the bar to order and even then they took another 20 mins to come with drinks. They even initially gave our drinks to the wrong table. Food was extremely over priced for what it was. Really gutted as it was a perfect location and had such amazing potential to become a regular for business meetings etc and somewhere I would’ve gone to with my partner too.
