We are located on the ground floor of Manchester Hall – the former Freemasons Hall – and you’ll notice a few nods to the building’s past in our interiors. Our restaurant boasts a multitude of different dining settings under one roof, catering for a plethora of requirements – from breakfast planning meetings, entertaining clients at lunch or enjoying a romantic evening meal. A Freemasons-inspired booth can be booked for private dining. With a full coffee barista service and extensive whiskey and gin menu, Masons is perfect both for work lunches and meetings during the day, as well as being the ideal place to unwind after a stressful day in the office. Our smart bartenders and staff are easy to spot in their smart silk uniforms, while you relax with friends and colleagues in plush surroundings.Just as the Masons’ name references the building’s unique history, the food at Masons also nods to some of Britain’s most traditional and best loved dishes.

We had our anniversary meal at Mason’s and really enjoyed it. The service was excellent and the free glass of champagne was a lovely touch. The food was great - very well presented and a good selection of dishes that were twists on British favourites. Looking forward to going back.

Faultless staff. Very attentive. Well spaced tables and incredible food. More ginger on the crème brûlée would be my only criticism of a fantastic night out in Manchester.

The main course and desserts were beautifully presented and very tasty. The only problem I had was with the steamed mussels which were nothing like mussels I've eaten before. Instead of being able to pick out nicely packed little bundles of meat I found myself having to scrape off the meat from both sides of the inner shell. Eventually gave up on them as it was not worth the effort. The cider broth that accompanied them was however very tasty.

Would go again but would steer well clear of the mussels

I have booked for breakfast on Sunday as it was my parents birthday and he always said how good the breakfast was before.
We were the only customers in the restaurant which wasn’t an issue as we were given the staff’s full attention.weve both ordered the smoked haddock but unfortunately we’ve waited quite a while for the food. When it arrived it looked nice. We ordered extra side of toast too. Sadly the food was disappointing really. Haddock was almost cold, the salad leaves were wilted, eggs were good but toast was awful! Definitely NOT sourdough! It was thin white small bread that simply fell apart when we tried to spread the rock hard butter on!! I was extremely disappointed but didn’t say anything at the time as I didn’t want to upset my partner on his birthday by causing a scene! Shame on you for serving that!

Food was very good, the scallops, cod and chicken were all excellent. The truffle chips were disappointing, thankfully the server took these off the menu straight away. Our server Joe was excellent, the service was impeccable. Made us some cocktails not on the menu and was very friendly without being overbearing.

Love Masons. Have been on various occasions so took my team for our Christmas night out at the end of January to avail of the fabulous 50% off. Looked after really well as always, and our two waiters were great. One looked after my table last year as well.

Food was very good but if I was paying full price, 3 scallops for £12 is very expensive I feel.

I ordered the duck which I adore but although pink, some of it was actually too undercooked for me so I had to leave it. I wasn't hungry enough to ask them to redo but when I have duck there again, I will ask for it to be cooked a bit more.

This is the first time I've had anything negative to say about Masons, and am already looking forward to visiting again next week.

I'm sure it will revert to form.

3 course meal and cocktail each for two people for £75 with the January 50% off food deal. Good food and drinks, attentive service and nice decor. Enjoyed it but I don’t think I would pay full price as there are plenty of other restaurants in the area which offer more of an “occasion dining” experience for the same cost.

Reasonable wine list.

Beautiful surroundings and decor. Delicious food. Great to be able to take advantage of the 50% off food January offer, but disappointed that this meant we couldn't choose the lunch time offer instead, which wasn't explained on the website or when booking.

We went on a Sunday afternoon- only the Sunday menu Available. Soup was tasteless and we didn’t eat it. Service was very slow considering it was not full at all. We had to chase our mains and the bill several times. Lovely building, duty manager was really friendly. Wouldn’t go back

I went to masons for the first time on the jan 50% off deal. The food was good and given the price we paid on the deal pretty good value. However, I am not sure it would be worth the normal prices charged.

Really enjoyed our meal at Masons. The building is beautiful and the atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxing and casual. It looks a bit intimidating from the outside and much more formal/stuffy than it actually is. The food was fantastic - the scallop starter was the best we've ever tasted - and there was a good wine list. The service was also excellent, very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We went in January as they had a 50% off food deal which made it affordable (just) but at full price it is too expensive for us to go regularly, unfortunately. But you get excellent service and gorgeous food in an amazing setting so, for a special treat, it is definitely worth it.
