Spectacular! We were staying at the Sheraton on the Falls, so I picked Massimo's for convenience. It was our wedding anniversary, our table was right up against the windows for a full view of both the American & Canadian falls. The falls light show was in full effect during our meal. The service was impeccable, and the food was top notch. It was not cheap but worth every penny. We chose the prefixe meal which includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert for each. The app course was big enough to share. The entree was big enough that we both took home the leftovers, and the dessert was so good none of it left the table!
Fantastic view of the falls. Beautiful food and very knowledgable and friendly staff. Well worth a visit, will definitely go back.
Very good food, a little pricey for pasta. However, the total experience was good. Server was incredibly polite and helpful, but slower than I would have liked. Had to wait about half hour to get bill and pay while she attended to people just sitting down.
Out of 9 of us, only 3 enjoyed their meals. It was very expensive and the quality of food (especially the bolognese, duck and chicken dishes) were lacking. The shrimp linguine and tenderloin were good. The local fee is ridiculous, but we were happy that it was removed upon request. We spend over $700 and we left hungry, that’s not right.
As always we get a few appetizers to split and they are always fantastic.
Despite terrible management, the food and service were wonderful! I made a reservation more than 3 weeks in advance and requested a table with a view for our 11th wedding anniversary and my daughter’s 9th birthday. We had to wait 15 mins before we were seated at a table without a view. We decided to return to our hotel room (since we are also guests at the Sheraton Falls View Hotel) to view the fireworks, which were spectacular. I expected more from a top-rated restaurant in terms of experience, but the management policy is really lacking. Thanks to Sasha, our server, who did her best to make our evening special - but I would recommend another venue if you want to celebrate something special...Your management policy is horrible - and you are lucky to have exceptional staff, but they can only do so much. I regret not going to the Queen Victoria Place Restaurant!
Over priced. We asked to move to a window table and they just ignored us. I was proposing to my girlfriend that night.
Chevonn was an excellent waitress and we had a great time for our anniversary. It was the best all around!
The best Italian food I ever had.
This restaurant is a must.
The rigatoni bolognese and the salmon were excellent.
Amazing place. Exceeded expectations!! Pricey but you get a lot of food so i would say it was worth the price. Will come back!
We had great service from Siobhan, and we had a fantastic experience with a great view! Would highly recommend dining here.
Honestly this restaurant was really nice appearance wise but the food was sub par for what we paid. I got bruschetta that was ice cold And my gnocchi was like $35 and tasted like it was made with canned pasta sauce. It was my anniversary and I really wanted to go somewhere romantic and it visibly was but both me and my boyfriend were disappointed.
We were looking forward to our meal at Massimo’s as we had read some rave reviews.
Our server was very attentive and professional. The complimentary olive bread was delicious.
The rest of the meal was a total disaster.
My husband chose the calamari. The coating had a cloudy taste and the calamari was not hot. The very tasty dipping sauce could. It save this dish.
My Caesar Salad was the worst I have ever had. The lettuce was old and limp with some rust at the edges. There was no Parmesan cheese or anchovy as described on the menu. The garlic dressing was very thin. There were no croutons. I could not eat this dish.
We both chose the Shrimp Linguini as our main course. This was another tasteless mess. There was one grilled shrimp, a couple of very thin slices of cheese and about three other shrimp cut in half on top of the pasta. The white sauce was totally tasteless and milky. There was not one herb or spice in it, Nor were there any vegetables such as onion, red pepper in the pasta sauce. This dish cost $44 per person. What a waste of money.
We will never go back to this restaurant and would not recommend it.
Wait staff was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu available. We went before the large dinner rush, but seating is not very cramped and still offer great views. My wife and I went with the pasta dishes made in house, recommended by our waiter (wish I remembered his name, he was great!) and it was wonderful. This really is a great spot for Italian food at Niagara. Also, eat the bruschetta, you will taste the fresh ingredients and the bread perfectly torched; quote me. Massimo’s was great.
We had a very nice dinner. Unfortunately the vegan pasta came with cheese on the top??? Even though we had asked several times about vegan options. Also there were no vegan deserts and the waiter thought that a chocolate ganache was vegan until we pointed out that it probably had cream or milk in it. The lamb was a little dry and over cooked the veggies, warm olive, calamari and muscles were great. The atmosphere was calm cozy and very relaxing. We were made to feel very welcome and so we stayed there to watch the fire works after our dinner.
The view was incredible and the food/wine delicious. The service was amazing as our waiter greeted us with Happy 45th anniversary and glasses of Prosecco. Impressive!
Food Nothing spectacular.
Server was attentive. Good wine.
Server was horrible and the food was not as good as I expect it to be for the price. Gnocchi was very sub par and were told the bruschetta would be plenty of food for two people to split.... it was one small piece.
When I made the reservation it was for a high top table. We were pleasantly surprised that we got to be seated right at a window table!! It was a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary!! Thank you!!!
My husband and I were visiting and I had booked the restaurant 5 days in advance. When we arrived we were seated far away from the window (tables for 2) into a booth for 6. Rather silly to put two people in that large a booth. I was very disappointed to not be near the window given out advance reservation.
Secondly the hotel gave us a coupon for 20.00 off.
We each ordered the prix fixe dinners as that was what was listed on the menu for options.
When we went to pay the waiter said that coupon couldn’t be used. They know full aware that the hotel would be giving those coupons and to not haven’t it mentioned or written on the menu felt like a scam.
Food was very good but I felt we were somewhat taken advantage of. Not sure if I would return.
The view from the restaurant was fabulous, clearly the selling point as food & service were both unfortunately poor
I am afraid that I have tried this restaurant twice. The first time the front desk people were rude. This time the service was terribly slow and poor when they did show up. The food was unremarkable. A real disappoint and ruined my husband's birthday dinner!
Don't forget to try the salmon there
Roasted tomato soap was delicious
Great food, great service. Jason was an amazing server, super helpful suggesting food and wine. Would come back here for sure if I am back in Niagara.
We had reservations two weeks ahead and were placed at an center aisle table. When we asked our server about moving he said he’d inquire. He didn’t. We only saw our server when we ordered and at check time. Walk ins were seated at window seat. The food was incredible. The atmosphere was great but we felt we were displaced where our table was located.
The host and servers were friendly and humorous. Very please with the food and location
Great view with table overlooking the falls. Wine and food pairing was on point as well. Overall, excellent experience.
Good food, nice view and superb service. Our server Chevonnn was welcoming, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We had a great time there!
My family and I had an amazing experience at Massimo's. I would recommend the Smoked Chicken and Potato Ravioli, it was delicious. The view was beautiful, and the service was incredible. We appreciated how attentive and friendly the staff was. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Beautiful View! Excellent Service the wait staff was incredible friendly. Prices were not bad at all
We were disappointed that nothing was offered to us as it was our wedding Anniversary... But it was nice to have a lovely few.
Overpriced and not at all what I expected; charging 34.00 for pasta alla carbonara (that wasn't even that great) is ridiculous. The fried calamari were very small and the caprese had 3 small pieces of mozzarella but a lot of arugula (weird for caprese) and some tomatoes drenched in balsamic. I've been to Italy dozens of times and I've never seen arugula in a caprese at least not in copious amounts that it becomes the main ingredient. If you're going to charge for the Massimo name, then it should be worth it. In this case it wasn't. The tiramisu', however, was good but, again, at 14.00 overpriced.
The pasta was awful and extremely pricy, we were very disappointed and expected the meal to be awesome considering the name and location. $45 for a shrimp linguini that was sticky and tacky with half a dozen small shrimps was pitiful. $20 for garlic bread and a glass of wine for $16 then taxes and tip on top, and that was just my meal. The others in my party were equally disappointed. We definitely would not recommend or return.
We came for our anniversary after seeing a picture online of the spectacular view. The view is indeed amazing. Our server was lovely. The food was incredible ; I had the arctic char and it was the most delicious fish meal I've ever had. My husband had the beef tenderloin, and he was very pleased as well. We started with the calamari and bruschetta, and both were delicious. The lemon dessert was incredible as well! It is a little pricey, but it was a special occasion, and the meal was so fabulous it was definitely worth the splurge.
Christian made us feel welcome and provided fine service! The food and wine selection is great.
Wedding Anniversary celebration
Although the service was great, and I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, overall it wasn’t that great of a meal. The food was just average and for what you pay, I was expecting a better tasting experience.
Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable He assisted us in making delicious choices. There were many choices for cocktails choices and wines to accompany our meal. We had mussels and garlic bread to start. We then each had a pasta dish both equally delicious. We were too full for desert but were given a bit of an Ice Wine for our Anniversary which we enjoyed. The only downside was the additional unregulated local tax applied on top of the Government tax of 13%. I feel this takes advantage of your tourists who are already spending their money freely at your beautiful hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions as well as tipping well those providing us with their service.
