We had our thanksgiving meal here. Cody and Josh were our servers. They were amazing!
The food was delicious. Our there kids had a blast and we just thoroughly enjoyed our family time
The food here never disappoints. Steak was so tender and juicy with lots of flavor. Loved the cream corn and garlic mashed potatoes as well. Huge wine list and had a wonderful margarita in a martini glass that was delicious.
Service was excellent and don’t forget to get the butter cake for dessert.
Can’t wait to go back!
Great way to spend thanksgiving w the family! We were visiting from NY. Our waiter James was the best! The drinks were yummy and food was delicious 😋
Everything was a 10++ except for the table we had. It was right next to the entrance hall so there were customers standing there for the entire meal, it was not good.

Dinner at Mastro’s is a annual dining experience for our anniversary. Unfortunately this year was a horrible experience. The food and service was great, but where they sat us to eat was horrible. It was almost like sitting at the parking lot being served a five star meal. It ruined the entire dinner for us. It was NOT a Matros five star experience!
Everything else was five star expect the seating area.
Why did the hostess or host do this arrangement?!
It ruined the whole ambiance of being at Mastros.
We did not asked to be seated there too!
We informed them it was for our wedding anniversary!
We could of spent less money at another steakhouse that would of sat us in a better location! Very disappointed!
Definitely will not be spending that type of money to experience that again!!
The steak and salad were great we highly recommend the Filet and the Wedge salad the was enough to feed two.

Well maybe the Covid crisis is still reeking havoc with the restaurant industry. The only complaint was that the steaks (which is why we come here) were tough and had NO flavor. Not just mine but the other people who ordered steaks (Rib Eye) complained that they did not even season the steaks. New Chef ? But at these prices there should be no complaints. Service was exceptional as usual and the drinks were good. Need to step it up Mastros
$50 corkage and the steaks are not what they used to be. I prefer the food at Arc better. Better taste and value. Mastros is now way overrated.
I've always heard great things about Mastro's but never had been. Tried to get into the Newport location weeks in advance for a client dinner and client birthday but settled on Costa Mesa since it was available and close to our hotel.
I booked the reservation for a client dinner 3 weeks in advance so there was a bit of a buildup / expectation for all involved. Had to revise our party of 5 to a party of 6 a few hours prior and everyone was very accommodating which was great. Arrived at 7:30p and were seated right away. Restaurant was loud and buzzing which made it difficult to chat but was just fine.
Our server (David) was great, greeted us warmly, inquired about our visit and then proceed to bring us a cocktail menu and wine list. Upon David's return we all ordered a cocktail and some wine to breathe. We were all pretty hungry at the time, so we decided to forgo appetizers and order our dinners upon his return.
David returned with our cocktails and explained that he was leaving the martini shakers behind which was a great touch, explained the menu and we ordered. There were six of us so the guys all ordered individual meals, starters and several sides for the tables. The ladies decided to order starters and split the chef's cut 33oz Rib eye which David thought was a great option.
The night continued and we ordered a second bottle of wine and enjoyed our salads and starters and then it took a turn for the worse. When it was time for the entrees all of the guys received their dinners and the ladies received hot plates for their steaks - BUT it never came. When David returned, we asked what happened to the steak and he was clearly caught off guard that it hadn't arrived. He quickly went back to check and returned to tell us it was on the way. After several minutes we inquired again and rather than a return by David it was the Manager on Duty who came to inform us that they had forgotten the steak, but did we still want it. By now we were all but done with our meals
Mastros is extremely overrated but I think it’s important for everyone to experience the service - which is the highlight of this place.

I went for my birthday yesterday with my children. They first tried to seat us in the bar. The food was good until the main course. The mushrooms were BURNT and so was half of my steak that I ordered medium. Lastly, they ruined my birthday surprise that my husband worked so hard on.

Besides our server being great, everything else was horrible. It was too loud, it was too loud to the point it was difficult communicating with my server. This is not a place for a quiet dinner. I ordered the NY strip, the meat didn’t look of great value and it was undercooked to my order. I also ordered the lobster Mac and Cheese and it had no flavor whatsoever, very bland and disappointing. The bread was so hard and stale, disappointing. It was such a disappointing meal that it made me sad.
Took my wife on a date & we loved it there. Food was amazing, people everywhere were having a good time. Good vibes all around. We will definitely be back soon.

Overall we had a wonderful experience. Service was exceptional, cocktails were delicious, and the food hit the spot. Our only complaint was that our steak was unevenly cooked. Some bites were right at medium rare while others were more medium, and even a couple were rare.
While the food was good the service is a joke! For a high end restaurant you figure they would respect people. The partner of our server was clueless and seems lazy to do anything. I had to raise my hand up in the air while he noticed it but keep looking else where. Mastros is NOT THE SAME ANYMORE!!!

Food is excellent and service is also great. I still think they have the best steaks around. One suggestion, let the customer know what the "market prices" are when they order so as not to get sticker shock later. We didn't know we ordered a $600 seafood platter. Overall an excellent evening.

It’s been a while since I’ve visited last, I forgot about the live entertainment which I like a great deal.
I have been to the Mastro’s in Beverly Hills several times and the food, service and ambiance is always great. I can’t say that for the one in Costa Mesa our server had a bad attitude and was not attentive. The food was subpar and the lobster Mac and cheese was gross. Many of the items on the Beverly Hills menu were not on this menu and we were rudely told that if we don’t see it, they don’t have it!! It was a horrible experience and I will not return to this Mastro’s ever again. The only good thing was the valet drivers who were truly on it. It was a waste of $600 but a lesson learned don’t dine at this one.
Mastero's is always a great spot. The food, service, and ambiance is consistently done to perfection. This time, we received a great table in the bar area. I will be back.
