Signature Warm Butter Cake
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Excellent food and service!!! Drinks were awesome including mocktails!!! Have to try the butter cake!!!
Great food! Delicious wine selection! We did have a wait, but our server was phenomenal. Services from there on, after seated, were awesome! We had our 1 year old daughter, so I appreciated the patience, friendliness, and catering to her.
Service was horrible, waiter showed up once every 45 minutes. Food was below average. Huge disappointment especially comparing to location in Las-Vegas.
Service was a little slow. Food took a long time to come out. Over all experience was good
It would be nice if all options were listed on the menu. Such as side add-ons (ex. Bacon) and butters for entrees. Staff was nice.
A steak and seafood house with ample choices. Steak prepared to requested temperature. Sides are a la carte and are generous, can be shared by the table. Cocktails are well prepared and range from traditional to inventive. Wine list is extensive in both bottle and by the glass with good choices even though a bit pricey. Be sure to get a reservation or you probably will have an extended wait or even be told to return another time.
I just love the piano bar at Mastros, the ambience was lovely. Our bartender Tara was superb!
Repeat customer, party of four. Two of our party ordered petite filet (6oz), one ordered 8 oz filet and I pigged out on bone in ribeye. The three filets were embarrassing small and you could not tell difference between 6oz and 8oz. At $60-70 per it is a ripoff. In addition to ridiculously small portions, food was good, not great. They’ve most likely lost a regular customer.
Mastros is one of the most expensive steak houses in DC. I really don't care; it was a terrific experience. Bartender Carol especially did a great job with my made-to-order Manhattan.
Good food, fair price, tolerable service. Prepare for a whimsical change of table reservation.
First time dining here and will surely return. Food was great - Brussels sprouts with bacon steak are a must! The overhead music was a bit loud. Asked to turn down, but not sure they did.
Last night was amazing at Mastros the food, service and drinks were amazing, We g=had the best time. even the music was rreally good. Live singer after 7pm sounded as good as the original artist.
Food was not hot when it came out, and the waiter entered the order incorrectly so my husband did not have an entree
It was my husband’s birthday! The service and food was outstanding. We overpaid for bacon in our brussel sprouts but otherwise, I can’t complain.
Extremely loud music in main dining room. Couldn’t hear people talking at our own table. Ok with strict dress code, but Allowing an infant who screamed nonstop for over an hour (no service person asked them to remove the baby out of the restaurant) wasn’t ok. When average price per person is $100 and between the incredibly loud music and baby screaming it was a very disappointing evening.
Lovely early birthday dinner
I am a big fan of many different steakhouses. This does not measure up. They sat my guests and myself downstairs in the basement next to the rest rooms and it smelled like it. It took 40 minutes to get our cocktails only to be informed they didn’t have dry Vermouth for the Martini. The apps were lack luster, forgot one of the salads during second course. Had to ask for a splitting plate for two who were sharing….. no offer ahead of time. No pepper offered……
Finally third course arrived, meat cooked correctly, sides good. Potato was ice cold.
We ordered expensive wines and it seemed to be a chore for the server to open and poor.
Sad experience especially when the bill was $1000.
Birthday occasion....had a very good time, the food, service, and decor were exceptional. Phillip was outstanding!!
Other than the hostess being alittle rude..The bartender Andre and our server Rice was absolutely inviting and made our whole meal an experience.
Order a STEAK, muy delicious.
This was our first time dinning here and it was our 3rd wedding anniversary. The staff was amazing from the hosts to the manger. The food incredible. We want to especially thank our server Elena for making our night even more special. She was attentive and frequently checked on us to make sure we needed nothing. Can’t wait to dine again.
The roasted bone marrow was really good although we have had better at a different place. The steaks were amazing and well worth the $$$. The sides were really good but nothing exceptional. The drinks were good and strong!
Mastro’s is amazing and the best steakhouse in the area! Steve and Che and the rest of staff here are the best in the Washington DC!!!
Great food great service
Was very excited to enjoy dinner and it wasn't bad. However, the service wasn't optimal. Sever initially shared he was unable to provide separate checks (which is not accurate) then did not spilt the bill evenly. Additionally our table ordered a Sashimi appetizer to share and when brought was placed in front of the only Asian diner at our table which is an unfortunate profiling of customers.
The ambiance was very romantic, an the food was good. Our waiter was very informative and attentive. The waiter was also very kind. The food was good. They give more than enough to have to take home. The only real downside was the hostess wasnt friendly upon walking in, an also kept asking where we were going when we tried to use the restroom.
The service was great and food was even better. If looking for nice environment.I recommend
Service was horrible. After being seated our order did not get taken until almost 45 minutes afterwards. When our order was taken and we received our food the order was wrong.
We waited a while to get our food, ordered shrimp cocktail, ny strip, bone in rib eye , garlic mash & mac & cheese, mac & cheese was my fave. My husband loved his ny strip my bone rib eye wasn’t memorable however it was a very nice size. Noise level is a bit high due to persons trying to hear each other. The waiter was nice, my strawberry lemonade tasted sooo goood. Cheese cake was nice.
Exceptional service and absolutely delicious food with fabulous setting! Highly recommend!
They need to enforce the dress code. It was a disgrace.
Girls night out!
Place has great vibe. Nice servers. But busy. We had reservations for 8:45. At 9 o’clock we still were not seated. I had to ask them to figure out our seating as otherwise we won’t be able to order food. The hostess was not the most pleasant. But bartender was great. Music was nice. And ambiance everything you expect it to be. Food was amazing. Lobster Mac and cheese out of this world. Steak was amazing. Desert great. Nice selection. And they even packed all our food to go in safe containers. Very nice touch. Added silverware. Will return for sure.
Being that this was my 7th time at this location I was surprisingly disappointed. Reservations were at 8:15 I received 2 calls and a text to confirm my reservation which was weird. We arrived at 7:50 and we were seated. Our waiter greeted us about 10 min after that and we ordered a salad and drinks. Which took about 15 mins to get to us. The reason why I am disappointed is that I ordered my entree was ordered shortly after ordering my salad and we did not receive our food until 9:40. We did not see our waiter for about 45 mins we needed a refill on our waters and needed additional cocktails. Everytime that I have visited this location in the past we had amazing service. This time the manager told us that they had large parties that night. This was why we received such poor service. We were so disappointed in our experience we did not order the famous butter cake. We just wanted to pay the bill and leave. If you are looking for a good steak and good service this is not the place.
Loved it, great place to dine
I’ve been eating at Mastro’s for years beginning in Chicago several years ago. I’ve eaten at the DC location several times and also a location in Arizona Their steaks are good but the side items lack flavor or seasoning. It almost seems like their sides have gotten worse. It’s still a nice place to go on occasion but no longer my favorite … something is happening with them. The butter cake was decent but almost mushy inside. I have started to like Del Frisco’s more than Mastro’s but I’ll give them one more chance.
It was for a birthday . It was okay . Food was good but way overpriced . The host who sits ppl was not the nicest. I had to make a little fuss to be seated especially as I had 8 guests and 7 were present and it dint look like we were going to be seated. Not really a good look for a supposed upscale fine dining . A phone call to ensure that I understood the rules of the place was not necessary . I checked out the website before making my reservation and I am very aware what fine dining is . Giving it 4 stars for the ambience and some of the food . Will probably return and give it another try
