Hidden away on 65th street, this is an atmospheric french experience with great food and super service. Shame we live in England and can only visit occasionally!
Excellent all around. Service very professional and efficient. Food was great. Everyone in a party of 7 agreed it was a great find.
A neighborhood fav. We eat here, or stop for a drink and glass of wine, or even just a coffee and sweet treat at least once a week when we are in town. The most consistent when it comes to food and service. Always a great crowed. Fun for a small group. Also ask for daily vegan soup specials and daily specials. 10 years we have called this our secret other kitchen, delivery is always great too, menu options a little different with more extensive salad options and sides.
If they ever closed, I may consider moving, that’s how much we love this special spot...
Neighborhood favorite. Can be very noisy at peak times. Go early. It’s all about the food. True French bistro. The specials are exceptional. Go Tuesday for the Dover Sole and have Crepes Suzette for dessert.
Perfect place for a late lunch when shopping.
Very nice small upper east side brasserie with a good vibe. Nice menu selection and special requests no problem. Felt very" neighborhood "which was a plus...,it is a small place and tables are very close together...noise level not an issue even when full. I would recommend this restaurant for a very nice dinner or lunch while in NYC.
I remember this restaurant as Paris Match and being really authentic Parisian bistro. Not anymore! The tables are literally on top of each other with not even any elbow room. The place was jam-packed, so clearly the need to be around other birds of a feather is important enough to this crowd to overlook the cost, physical discomfort and mediocrity of the food. The prices are typically Upper East side overpriced, but to add to the sticker shock the portions are very small so you pay a lot and leave hungry. That's if you can even eat the food! My paillard of chicken (maybe all of 2 oz for $26) was as thin and dry as a matzoh cracker with a cup full of fancy greens on top that could not rescue the dry, tasteless, paper-thin chicken clearly prepared hours (days?) prior. I ordered an artichoke instead thinking it would already be prepared. after a 10 minute wait, the wilted looking very small artichoke ($15) arrived - none of the tough outer leaves had been removed, it was sitting in a small puddle of water and pepper corns, and the hair had not been removed from the heart, so by the time you got to the heart, discarding most of the outer leaves as inedible, there was no proper tool to remove the hair so it became a struggle. The $15 glass of house wine was served in a mini wine glass and only half full- so the three sips of wine were gone by then and so were we.-
What a terrific French bistro located on the upper east side. Food and service are excellent and has a wonderful ambiance. Tables are close together, but adds to the charm.
Charming atmosphere. Food excellent. Extensive wine list.
One of my favorite spots. Location is super convenient. The atmosphere is great and the food is fantastic. Always a lovely experience
Definitely good brunch but pricey! They are always accommodating and pleasant. Food is always fresh.
It was a perfect Saturday night dinner. Every dish was delicious and the service was attentive and spot on. Lovely evening!
The people who work at Match are warm, attentive, and so accommodating. Food is very good and ambiance is charming. Tables are so close together... only criticism.
The tables are far too close, you here every one’s conversations! Too fast of service, it’s like you want us out as quickly as you can! I’ll be. Back, but I’ll wait until I finish my first drink before I order!
This was a delightful experience from beginning to end. The management and wait staff were wonderful. The food and wine was excellent and it was an outstanding evening out. Thanks to all concerned.
Match 65 is an upper East Side neighborhood gem. A proper French Brasserie with the menu to prove it and the ambiance this restaurant is always a good bet and it has been for many years now. We love coming back again and again and the food is always up to standards and the service is very friendly and efficient.
It is a versatile place that works well for lunch, dinner or brunch.
This is such a great restauarant for its food, its service and its ambiance. Great for people watching as well. The bar is big enough to get seat at but small enough to be intimate.
Amazing experience. The staff is so warm and welcoming and go beyond to make you feel comfortable. The food is excellent and the bartender was wonderful. The wine list is fantastic. Get the chocolate croissants at brunch if there are any left. I can’t wait to return.
Neighborhood gem, Match 65 never disappoints. Food is great and service is excellent
We shared a foie gras terrine ( delicious!!) than I had yummy steak tartare and my guest loved his Brie cheese Hamburger with truffle fries.
Great lunch and perfect waitress with an adorable French accent!
An all around favorite!!!
Hamburger meat was quite tough -- the rest good. Always an attractive place to go.
The octopus salad with parsley and capers is excellent, all the salads in the menu are delicious and the special of the day-sole meunière is exquisite.
Great service, great food... very pleased with everything!!
Match 65 receptionist was happy to accommodate the group one hour earlier than expected and gave us a perfect table. It made our evening great. Everyone loved their meals, trout or salmon.
Loved my kale Caesar salad and branzino. Crème Brulee was awesome too. Lots of great wine for under $100.
Loud. But fun. Good was ok.
We love it !
It's a bit cramped, neighborhoody, young and old, a little of NYC with good food and service. Fun.
Food was unbelievably good with good sized portions. I will definitely return!
Tarte tatine was outstanding!
great value, great food , great selection and superb service
Paris in NY. Comme il faut.
Lovely restaurant, great food, warm personable staff.
I’m a repeat diner at Match 65 - the best brasserie in NYC! Food, service, decor are all outstanding.
The nice thing about Match 65 is that it is near Temple Emanu-El. I thought it was going to rain so I made a reservation for Tuesday evening, after our Yom Kippur services. But it didn't rain, and frankly, I am sorry we didn't go to Donohue's on Lexington Avenue, where we usually go. The service at Match 65 was very slow -- 1/2 hour to get our dinner after we ordered. My son had not eaten in 24 hours, so they did give us bread for him to eat. Still that's a long time to wait. My roast chicken was dry and they brought me French fried potatoes, although I had ordered mashed. Finally, the hostess asked me how my dinner was and I told her about the potatoes, so she brought me the mashed potatoes. Price is okay, probably less than Donohue's. But next year, rain or shine, we are going to Donohue's.
Everything was wonderful but especially the staff- they were incredibly attentive but not over bearing, as well as accommodating and thoughtful. And the food and drinks were delicious!
The restaurant was perfect for a quick meal before a show at The Armory. The French bistro food is good - mussels, artichoke, etc. The service is efficient and friendly. There is a full bar and the wine by the glass is drinkable.
Authentic French bistro food and ambiance - perfect for pre-theater at PARK Ave Armory.
Octopus was tender and flavorful.
The most amazing waitress at brunch!! Incredible
