Brunch box is a great option for late breakfast or lunch on weekends. Lots of good, small plate options at a pretty decent price. There are vegetarian options, but not vegan friendly.
It was ok, things took forever and they kept taking my silverware so when food came out I had to wait and it wasn’t hot when I could eat it.
We really enjoyed brunch at Matchbox. The food was good and the choices were interesting. Our server was great. She never appeared tired, agitated or unwilling to fulfill our many requests. Without a doubt, a return visit is in order.
Went for the Brunch Box. The food was outstanding and the service was great.
The brunch here is great and you can definitely has as little or as much as you want with the small plates.
Besides the attitude of the hostess, everyone else in the restaurant was amazing and the food is always delicious.
Unlimited brunch was well worth the value. Great food and service. Will definitely return again soon.
The food was decent, and you can get as much as you want with the Brunchbox. I just thought that a few of the dishes could have been prepared better (the biscuits were a little hard for the biscuits the cheese wasn't melted on the mini burrito; the crust on the fried chicken wasn't my favorite and a little oily especially when added to the grits or waffle with honey butter). The pizzas are always a good option too, but I would like to see a bit more variety in the brunch menu.

Sunday brunch service was very slow and unresponsive. Servers seemed overworked and kitchen staff couldn't keep up with the orders.

We had a great time and the waiter Cameron was exceptional, good food, we wait short time period between each order.
All good except the waiter was very slow.

Amazing Brunch. Fantastic food and drinks! Great service.
The brunch menu has limited breakfast items. Most are savory. If you want pizza or burgers for breakfast/brunch you are fine. I decided that small plates breakfast will not be a go-to choice for me for breakfast/brunch. Their OJ is fountain not premier, and they were out of hot chocolate (in early February). None of the dishes wowed me (chicken with waffles - so so; blueberry french toast - OK; no extra syrup offered or provided; coffee cost as much as a cocktail (???). Service was excellent and we were greeted by the hostess and manager. The brunch is $28 which is not on the menu - server tells you. Mimosas, and coffee are $3 extra each.
I still like Matchbox and glad it is in Silver Spring but am getting tired of being seated next to the second door on the far side of the restaurant. Cool air comes in every time it opens and it's annoying if you are sitting near there. There really is no need for it. It should be an emergency exit and that's it. I still enjoy Matchbox, but I will re-think my dining choices if I am forced to sit there more.
Brunch was good, not great. A bit overpriced unless you decide to gorge yourself. But, the food was good and it's a great location.
Customer service was outstanding & exceptional!!!
I always enjoy my visit to the Silver Spring location. Service, food, and atmosphere is great!
Server was excellent!!
The order was wrong and it took quite a while to fix while my colleagues food which arrived on time, got cold.
I am so sorry to hear about the poor experience. I am also very sorry that we could not do more to ensure a more pleasurable meal for both you and your colleague. Please let me know if I can invite you back for a future visit. I know we can deliver an excellent experience here at Matchbox in Silver Spring. I will PM if you'd like for me to personally handle your next reservation.
The service was top notch. It was a very welcoming atmosphere and the Chicken Kale Soup is a definite must have. It was a fun experience.
bethesda restaurant week
our waiter started off fine, but then forgot about us and seemed nearly hostile after taking our initial order
Ken, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. It is truly invaluable. I apologize for the lackluster service and poor attitude of our waitstaff, I can assure you it will be addressed. I hope this does not deter a future visit and I will gladly, personally take your next reservation to hopefully ensure a great experience.
Great food! Very nice staff! Ribeye was delicious. Kid friendly. Nice gluten sensitive options.
This location is not as nice as other locations. The food quality is not up to par and the service was lacking too. I was disappointed. I prefer other locations that will be my preference in the future.
New Years Day celeb with daughter
Awesome brunch. Great service.
Had a New Year's eve post movie dinner at the Silver Spring Matchbox. The waiter was very helpful, going out of his way to get some ice for my wife who had fallen and bruised her knee on the way to the restaurant. We had a couple of glasses of wine, the pear and apple salad with chicken and a lemon cake for dessert, which was just the right amount for a late meal. All of it was very good.
This is my third trip to Silver Spring Matchbox and by far the worst. The first time, was great food and good service. Second time was the worst service I have ever had...they forgot 50% of the food, manager forgot to take it off the bill after 3 requests and still had the bill wrong and my card was double charged....so how could it get worse?
Well I made reservations for 8PM for a New Years Eve date for myself and my boyfriend because we LOVE matchbox pizza...we arrived, was sat immediately by the hostess and them completely ignored by the entire staff for the next 20 minutes. No water, no one came over to check on us...nothing. And NO it was not busy. There were under 8 tables filled in the whole place at 8PM.
There were like 10 servers wandering around the half empty dining room. There were 4 ladies hanging out at the server station. Not a SINGLE person bothered to even look our way. No one said..."oh have you been helped yet? let me get your server. Nope! There was a table to the left of us and a table to the right of us, both being served...and both servers ignored our empty table and avoided eye contact. There is NO TEAM at Matchbox, just some people with temporary jobs apparently. Any other restaurant would have been a better choice, what a WASTE of a New Years Eve. After we passed the 20 minute mark of being ignored we left.
Very nice atmosphere for lunch. Sat at the bar and it was quiet (maybe because it was New Year's Eve day and people were preparing for NYE). Was able to watch the Caps game and enjoy a pizza (meat lovers, which was excellent). The bartender took our order quickly and was quick with drink refills when asked. I like that they have sections of the newspaper at each seat at the bar for diners that are alone and want to read during their lunch. Will definitely go back.
Food was great and the service was excellent. Ambiance as value were both great. I will be back
We had five people, four ordered the endless brunch, one ordered a salad from the menu. The server told us that they were “known” for their pizzas, but that their salads were “the best”. The restaurant was not at all crowded, but the service was lackluster. The brunch plates were very slow to come out, and several of our items never arrived. We had to track down our server several times for coffee refills and plate selections. The brunch food was tasty, but overall the experience was disappointing.
Easy, private place for a quick business lunch particularly if you get a booth.
Met a friend for lunch and had a great time. The service and food were both very good. We didn’t have to yell to be heard and we weren’t rushed out, so we had time to catch up. This is a great addition to downtown Silver Spring’s dining options.
Food was delicious! They were out of sweet potato fries but I wasn't notified when I ordered my meal and brought out regular fries. For the inconvenience they allowed me to get a side salad as well free of charge. Waiter was friendly and the environment was great! Cocktails were great!
