When booking the place , it looked good value being a bottomless brunch for $65 . It was literally one piece of toast with a very limited lunch and breakfast menu , the drink selection was the choice of the cheapest wines that they wanted to get rid of and a horrible cocktail pretty disappointing especially on Mother’s Day

Food and restaurant it' s self excellent. service started out great but after main was finished took a long time to come around to collect plates and then we had to ask for the dessert menu. We then had to wait while they printed them off for us and never asked if we wanted another drink after the first one was finished.

The view from the restaurant is fantastic but the food was very disappointing - fish was dry and tasteless & lamb was fine but extras were 2nd rate. The service was just ok...had to wait in lobby for 5 mins before someone greeted us. Ambience is off, very bright lights, felt empty with everyone seated along window (Thurs night) and overall a very disappointing experience.

Overall, great food. Well presented and well cooked. I thought it was a little on the expensive side.
Service was good. Not to intrusive. Food arrived without being rushed between courses.
Ambience…. Very poor. Non existent. Would not recommend for a romantic dinner or as special occasion for a couple. I think day time lunch would be more suitable as the view over the river would better better than an evening dinner.
My pet hate…… no table cloth. Bare table. Cutlery plonked on to bare wood. Not good.

The staff were fantastic however the food was a little disappointing. The short rib was tough with the meat not falling away from the bone and dessert was not exciting at all.
We did have a lovely time though and the view made our evening.

I had an amazing dinner with my Partner for the celebration of her birthday.
The food was tasty and the quality was high.
We had the Octopus to start and then lamb and steak. It all was very good.

Unfortunately due to extreme noise level unable to stay and asked to speak manager, explained my husband has a cochlear implant and the noise level was too extreme, unable to converse, and we happy to return another day for lunch. We do have a gift voucher, unused. Saturday night was extremely crowded , very little space between diners and extremely noisy. Also two weddings taking place which may explain over crowding. Our table was in a corner, and noise excessive.
Spoke to manager, explained situation, and advised we would be happy to return for lunch. Manager helpful and agreed we could rebook lunch another day. Have dined at Matilda Bay previously and happy to recommend but warn diners of excessive noise.

The food standard has dropped at Matilda Bay, or at least on this occasion. A couple of us ordered the duck. It was dry and very small. The accompanying elements were also ordinary. Two of the other guests ordered lamb medium rare. Both came out well done. Although our lovely waiter offered for it to be re cooked it, it was not worth it due to the fact everyone else had received their meals.

We were disappointed to be seated at the very back when specifically asking and being guaranteed a table a window view. We understood that with an infant we would be seated on the second tier, but I was assured I would get the window view.

To top it off, this was a very special birthday occasion. We had organised a birthday dessert plate for the guest of honour to come out with the desserts. This was forgotten.

We have been dining at Matilda Bay for generations and we were disappointed by the lack of quality we were once used to.

In saying this, our waiter was second to none and had it not have been for him I would not have hesitated in showing my disappointment upon payment. I wish I remembered his name. He was professional, friendly and extremely hospitable.

Beautiful views and fitout
Food was nice, unfortunately my meal did not note it had any chilli in the meal so thought it was safe to eat.....nope had a big kick and paid for it later.

Was really loud for a small restaurant we struggled to hear eachother across the table.
Great for a work do but not for a special occasion

There were not a lot of people, we were probably making the most noise. Staff were considerate to the fact that two of our guests were late. Lovely place to dine, food was good, staff were great.

Early meal caught the sunset across the marina and Swan River. The restaurant was quiet to begin with but slowly picked up. Service was friendly, unobtrusive and attentive. Food was fresh and on point. Loved the quail and the seafood was awesome. A special on local crayfish was a bonus. We will be back.

Food excellent. Ambience delightful. Price appropriate.

Sympathy for one waitperson who, if new, should have had an experienced person with her. One of our drink orders was for what we consider to be a very straight forward and widely consumed "Scotch n Dry" .. but that order had to be repeated a few times at table, and then twice more after she had been to the kitchen and returned with yet another question. There was also a fairly noisy table of diners who appeared to be the reason several tables of elderly folk left quite quickly. A shame, but it wouldn't always be the case I'm sure.
Go there!

Service was good, much better than Kailis on the Friday. Lobsters were small but well cooked and with a couple of sides sufficient. Drinks by the glass mainly from unknown wineries so went for old standards of Campaign and Prosecco.
