Outstanding! All of the Max restaurants in Rochester are the best!
We had dinner on Thursday and because of COVID the restaurant was very quiet. Despite that the service form our server Margaret was outstanding! She was very tentative and polite, she knew her menu and made some great suggestions. Margaret and the chef gave us a sample of an entree that we never had before (quail) which we enjoyed and will have that the next time we are there if its on the menu.
Overall a very good venue and menu.

Max's was a very nice place to eat. The dining area was comfortable and spread out. We also had a pianist and a singer perform a few songs for us mid dinner. The food was also very good, albeit not cheap. Overall it was a great experience.

I love this place
Very good service and good food choice
My husband and i brought my son and two friends, all Rochester football players. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff was friendly, attentive and food was delicious! I asked for a recommendation of a wine by the glass and i was happy to taste that it was fresh and delicious as sometimes wine by the glass is previously opened and has sat for a while.

Both the food and service were impeccable! Will remember this meal for a lifetime and will be going back as well. The beans and greens, beet salad, rigatoni with osso bucco and bouillibaisse were altogether both outstanding and memorable. Our server, Margaret, astutely assisted our meal choices and helped to make us feel right at home.

Excellent food, from macaroni and cheese to steak to vegetables. Nice atmosphere with interesting art on the walls. Staff were friendly and helpful, not intrusive. A great place for a great meal.
Venue is nice, however atrium concept makes it loud/a little difficult to carry conversation. Great food and nice wine selection.

Two couples, two tables made for a socially distanced dining experience. Tables were sufficiently close to allow conversation, but far apart enough for distancing. Food was excellent, as was the service. This is a great place for gathering in the time of Covid. Would highly recommend it!

We waited over two hours for our meal. The restaurant was extremely overbooked. It was not the fault of our waitress. A very bad experience at this restaurant. The food was also not up to their standards based on prior experiences.

We opted to sit outside the main dining room because of Covid. The place nice with soft music so our party could talk to each other. All of us ordered the New England clam chowder which was excellent! I also had the roasted beet salad. - very fresh. For entree, we had the scallops with cauliflower purée - I think this was the best I’ve ever had. Had a smoky buttery flavor. My husband loved the flounder.

We had a lovely time for our 6th anniversary. Margaret was an excellent server, and even though she was by herself (this was a very quiet Monday night), she attended to all her tables and was readily available for all our needs. The food was good; I wasn’t thrilled with the escargot appetizer, purely subjective, but that was my experience. My steak was cooked perfectly, the scallops were delicious, and the little neck clams were also very good. Reasonably priced for a night of fine dining and I’m certain we will be back again.

Met a friend for lunch at Max's. The atmosphere is wonderful, noise is non-existence. Food was very good. They had many specials for the day that sounded delicious, I had a friend chicken sandwich with a buttermilk+blue cheese sauce. My friend has the mushroom risotto. Which was very good, but perhaps a little too salty.
I highly recommend for lunch.

Very nice outdoor setting with really nice music (not live) and not too loud which added immensely. Bread would be nice with the meal. Vinaigrettes for salad were too heavy on vinegar; not balanced. Meal was very, very good!
Best food I’ve had in Rochester by far. Everything was absolutely perfect.
We both had the steak (ribeye and filet), and it was incredible. Wine selection was great, and it was a nice change of pace to enjoy our dinner out on the patio.
It wasn't very busy (COVID), and our waitress was very attentive without being a distraction.

Max’s is always a fantastic evening. Great value for your money. The courtyard was setup beautifully, my wife and I felt very safe with the distance between tables and safety procedures the staff followed.
