Thankfully the cocktails were as good as Joe's. To be honest I did not notice much of a difference even in menu from its predecessor Joe's . Still the food was great and tasted amazing. Service was very good.

I went there to try their new Moving Mountains burger, but the patty itself wasn’t that good, especially for the price I paid. I’ve tasted the same patty somewhere else for a much cheaper price and it was good value for money. I personally think Maxwell’s is too expensive, even for their normal burgers which I’ve tried before I went vegan. Just my opinion.

Don’t know what I expected for a London restaurant to serve American food. Let’s just say for ribs or burgers there is no place like home.

Apart from being sat at our table without a menu and having to wait about 20 mins until having to ask staff for the menu... everything was amazing. Lovely staff and delicious food. Will deffinetly be going back!

We were out for my husbands birthday. He ordered 14oz steak, first time it had to be sent back as it was cold, the second steak that was brought out was slightly better but half way through the steak u could see it wasn’t cooked properly. We did complain and we had money taken off our bill. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back.

Food arrived ridiculously quickly. Within 1 minute starters had arrived indicating it is merely warmed up. Extremely overpriced food for something which is clearly just heated up. Extremely quiet with rubbish ambience. Find it difficult to understand why a 12.5% service charge is automatically added when it should always be at the customers discretion. Large portion of meat on ribs and pulled pork combo in comparison to the chips. Asked for burger to be well done but it arrived pink but was unable to ask anyone to change it. The longest time we waited was for the Bill.

Not what it used to be at the old location. Very disappointed with the food. Milkshakes not up to usual standard.

Not sure I will be returning which is a shame.

Very tasty food even though it did seem to cool down quite quickly.
The wait staff were very good and attentive.
Do agree that the tables upstairs are a bit cramped but overall we enjoyed it and would go back.

Having been a fan of Maxwell's ever since the Hampstead days, I am so glad that the newly sited Maxwell's (yes, it has moved round the corner to where it was), is carrying on the tradition of great wings, fabulous burgers and luscious cocktails.
It's a shame that the Belgian Waffles haven't translated over too but, you can't have everything I guess.
Just make sure that, if they ask you to sit upstairs, you're not sitting in full blast of the a/c. We were, we asked to move and were accommodated without fuss.
This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the soundtrack playing, unobtrusivelyish, in the background. Every song a tune and each one daring you not to sing a long.....

Came here before we went to the theatre for my birthday. Service was good and quick, our waiter was lovely. Had the best pornstar martinis I’ve ever tasted! The sharing platter of nachos for 2 was to die for, it was huge but amazing. Burgers were so good! Lovely atmosphere, there was a buzz about the place. I’d definitely return!

Service was great - had a waiter who was very helpful in suggesting a vegan option for one of our party. However, all the food was very middle of the road. Definitely had better versions of the dishes we ordered at other restaurants. My eight year old was disappointed as the grilled chicken breast strips were served cold (although served with salad we was expecting the chicken to be hot). A nice look and feel to the restaurant but based on the mediocre food, I wouldn't rush back.

Went after the theatre. Service was OK. The food came before the beer we ordered which was disappointing, the food was warm not hot, suggesting it had been sat on the side and just chucked on a. plate. BBQ sauce was good.

The food didn't live up to our
expectations.
We felt the hole services was very rushed, we we're in and out with 40 minutes and that was including starters! I ask for my burger to be well cooked, parts of it were but other parts were pink! which really put me off. We felt it was very over price for what you got - we've had cheaper and better else where , really wasn't impressed sadly... we were so looking forward to it, as friends recommended it to us.

Preferred the original venue near the tube station. Food was very average, expected better and pet hate is warm fries when they arrive at table. I expect hot but when we have a baby with us we don’t have the time to wait and moan.
Happy enough tho, will return just hope next time it’s better experience

I was a bit disappointed with Maxwells. I'd pre-booked a table and got whisked upstairs to the balcony. The tables were very squashed together and I didn't feel like I was 'in' the restaurant. We saw people come in after us, who looked like walk-ins, and they got seated downstairs.
When our food came up, I then didn't see our waitress for about 20 minutes - we wanted some extra sauces and there was no-one to ask without wending our way down the spiral staircase. By the time we saw her again, we'd finished.
The food was ok, but nothing you couldn't get in similar establishments like TGI's etc. I've only given this a 3/5 for value for money as I used my Gourmet Society card and got 25% off the whole bill.

Since they have moved not the same, it was so cold we were seated upstairs which was very narrow and air con blowing straight at us. Very loud and service not as expected.

Expecting great things are previous visits but sadly not as good now they have moved to new premises. We were sat upstairs and were very cramped as the tables are too close together. The starters were fine but two of the main courses - the ribs with pulled pork - had to be sent back as they were cold. We were offered free desserts as an apology but when the bill came the waiter argued as to what actually constituted a dessert! Bottled beer choice OK but what restaurant these days doesn't offer at least one draft beer?

I much preferred their previous venue. It was so much nicer and had a brilliant atmosphere. The new site is so much smaller and as we are seated below the upstairs area, it is so loud when chairs are moved above you. Loved the birthday surprise of the freak shake, balloons and staff singing happy birthday. My dinner was missing the coleslaw which I didn’t notice as I had ordered a salad. They were great though with a doggy bag for our uneaten food.
