34 KING STREET
One of Covent Garden's most established restaurants, Maxwell's Bar & Grill first opened in London in the early 1970s and still remains a favourite amongst locals and tourists now visiting London’s West End. An all-American diner-style venue set across two floors of dining space, Maxwell's offers relaxed dining to enthusiastic theatre-goers, intimate groups of friends and families and larger parties celebrating special occasions. Our dedicated menus offer a variety of mouth-watering dishes, with something to suit all with popular dishes including signature Burgers, Fajitas, Wings, Baby Back Ribs and our famous Freakshakes! The downstairs bar Cocktail Baby serves up a cocktail list full of original takes on the classics.

Food was delicious, and service was great!
Great location in the middle of Covent Garden. Great variety and moderate prices for huge portions. The ribs are just divine and very tasty. Service is great.
Great that in times of Corona tables are wiped with desinectant. Just the same cloth should not be used for seats and the door handle. But I suppose it was desinfected. Have been there before and would definitely come back for the great food.
Very good food and service. And clean
Great service, had unlimited wings which were great.
Food was nice but I didn’t expect to spend so much on a burgers and wings meal.
All good even the waiter remembered me from a previous visit! Just a shame that there was a compulsory service charge 🤦♀️ not as good a previous unfortunately.
Service was very good and nothing was too much trouble. We were seated upstairs and it was hot and noisy so suggest sitting downstairs. Food was good and lots of it. Drinks were great. A little pricey for what we had, but overall a good lunch.
Brilliant service, never waiting for food or drinks, very friendly attentive staff. Nice touch of the birthday balloons and free Birthday freakshake. Enjoyable evening would definitely recommend
The food for me was very good, not so good for my partner, service was ok, atmosphere was ok, it was a bit average, but saying that I would give it another try and then make my mind up fully after that, it seemed pricey, but would recommend because this was my first time, and was expecting more after reviews I'd read
The experience was great! Has to wait a little while for the table but they gave us a round of free drinks to make up for it. There were some awful drunk girls who were threatening to ruin everyone’s night, but all the staff acted with complete professionalism and were able to deal with the situation quickly and efficiently.
Lovely food and lovely staff. Great place to eat for before a show as they are very quick. Highly recommend the nachos for 2!
Been there many times, never lets me down, wonderful staff and food
Food was great, definitely value for money would definitely consider returning. All staff were very friendly, polite and accommodating, Konstantina M, our waitress was amazing. Told the restaurant prior to our arrival it was a birthday celebration they had very kindly put ballon’s on the table and gave us a complementary bday shake. Thanks to all the staff we had a very enjoyable bday celebration.
Was ok nothing special the food was fine served quickly and tasted ok but there was no ambience or atmosphere I have been going to Maxwells since the early 1990’s maybe it’s now a bit of a tired concept. Not the same now it’s moved to King Street nothing wrong but nothing special either
This was our second trip to Maxwells and we'll be going back for sure. The food is fantastic and the service is great. The waitresses and waiters are always very helpful. I ordered the bone in ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. A good size too!
The place was buzzing and the service was excellent. The staff were welcoming and energetic. Food was as expected for such an establishment.
Friendly waitress but 1 of 5 meals came 20 mins after others. While we were not charged for this one meal, the lateness spoilt the whole evening which was our special anniversary meal. We were turfed out with 10 mins notice despite having just been given desert menus. The menus were promptly picked up when we were asked to leave. So no desert. Toilets were disgusting! General impression was that they just wanted to get as much money in as quickly as possible.
Had a great birthday meal with friends, service and food excellent.
Only down side was that we were forced off our table after 2 hours as we would have liked to stay longer
Freakshakes are incredible! Just don’t order them as actual drinks otherwise you’ll end up like me and stuffed! Other than that the food is delicious and it’s so worth going!
