Maze Grill Mayfair Ratings and Reviews
The food served was ok but not as good as before. We have a rude waiter to serve us that night and the environment was not good. The temperature within restaurant was very warm which has cause us feel discomfort, we asked to make some changes to climate control but there will no changes in temperature.
We were visiting London and Maze was just a few minutes walk away from where we were staying. We were looking for somewhere to go for our last meal in town and we decided to try Maze for their Sunday Roast “lunch” special that ended at 6pm. We quickly made a reservation for 5pm and walked over. We were happily greeted by the staff and seated near the large dining table on the upper level near the kitchen. We ordered the special and it came out fairly quickly. The meat was lovely but sadly the Yorkshire pudding was a little overdone (burnt). The veggies were great and since they were unlimited we had a second helping. We decided to try some desserts but unfortunately like a previous review, the cheesecake seemed dry and over cooked. However, the Eton Mess was amazing...I still think about it and wished we had dined there earlier in our trip as I would’ve gone back just to have this dessert! All in all it was lovely, not very expensive and we got the bonus of actually seeing Gordon Ramsay come in to dine at the big table behind us with his family! He said hello to all of the staff but left the patrons alone which is fair, I don’t expect him to talk to every person in the restaurant. I would’ve loved a photo but we didn’t want to bother him since he was having dinner with his family and was keeping to himself. It was a nice surprise to see him there in person though!
Great Place, staff was accommodating to every degree. We allowed our waiter to help pick a myriad of steaks and cuts to allow us to have a true steak sampler platter. They were all great in their own way. All the sides were delicious as well. A very pleasant evening with wonderful food and great service.
Sunday lunch at the Maze. Excellent offer of Roast with unlimited vegetables. The beef was cooked to perfection and quality and taste superb. The Yorkshire pudding was simply best. Vegetables perfectly cooked . We had a glass of lovely champagne to start our meal and the house red wine was excellent and great value. The a la carte starters and deserts looked amazing and delicious. However the Roast filled us up and we could not eat anything more. We finished with coffee (which came with biscuits). We also had an excellent glass of prosecco at the bar. The service was excellent . The seating in restaurant and bar is very good, spacious and comfortable. There was a lovely buzzy feeling in the bar and restaurant noise was perfect . Highly recommend and will be back
Pre-theatre meal. Lovely waiter got talking to us about what we were going to see, very friendly and made sure we got the bill promptly so we weren’t late. Food was delicious as always. Octopus carpaccio for starter was light and fresh, steak for main was cooked to perfection and the pair of us shared a baked cheesecake desert which was delightful.
Great place, amazing food, excellent staff. Extremely reasonable prices for the quality and the service you get. Compared to this, any other meat / grill place I’ve been feels like a robbery. From the starter to the dessert everything’s an experience and everything well prepared.
Maze did not fail to impress. The service was very attentive, although I think we were served by every person in the restaurant, rather than one specific waiter/waitress! The food was delicious, we ate off the set menu which was very good value. My steak was cooked to perfection, and the mushrooms side was lovely. Adding wine to the meal made it a rather expensive lunch, but I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion.
