Maze Grill Park Walk Ratings and Reviews
This was a change in venue for our pre-match meeting, forced by the usual haunt not being open on 26th Dec. Very glad we found it. The menu is based around the grill, as you would imagine, and is of high quality. The service was pleasant, not overbearing, and cheerful. We would return.
As always, the Maze Grill pushes the boat out in terms of superb customer service and high quality food. Sunday roast for £27 is not bad at all. And the child's meal is a gourmet meal fit for a king. £100 for lunch for three (including wine and service) is actually not that bad, considering the quality of the food and location.
Worth a trip! We went here to start our honeymoon and it was amazing. You are treated like a neighbor with warm welcomes from the staff and an intimate environment. The food was outstanding with superb small plates (we had the tuna deviled eggs and special burnt ends sandwich), excellent sushi (salmon noshi with pears), incredible steak (we recommend the bernaise or peppercorn sauce), and the Eton mess was a great ending. Additionally, since we mentioned it was our honemoon, the staff gave us a special treat to close the night. Please visit maze grill park walk - it is worth it!
My husband and I had lunch here after visiting the nearby Physic Garden. We dined late (2PM) and found ourselves the only diners at this small restaurant. I can't understand why there wasn't a line at the door! The menu was creative, and the food was fantastic. The espresso we finished the meal with was the best I've had in years. The service was attentive and pleasant.
I knew I had to eat at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant while in London and this one did not disappoint. Even our waiter, who was brand new, was impeccably trained and spot on. The food was amazing, especially the cauliflower starter which I have since tried to duplicate but have not yet been able to do. The rib eye was cooked perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised by the bill which I expected to be much higher. Loved it!
My 5th visit at least and as I was disappointed a little on my previous visit, I returned with some slight trepidation. However I can say that this was a very enjoyable return! Not sure if there is new management but there seemed to be more staff and they were certainly friendlier and more efficient than I seem to remember. We came for Sunday lunch and I am glad we booked because the place was soon full and this was the first time I had seen it this full at lunchtime. This is not a cheap place so don't go if you are on a budget, but, otherwise I would definitely recommend a visit here.
If I have one criticism it is that the dessert menu hasn't changed for years and is on the dull side in my opinion...when I voiced this with the manager he mentioned that some of the locals were opposed to changing it so it just goes to show how different people are when it comes to eating preferences etc. I can only say that add a couple of new options even if you want to keep the old favourites.
We were traveling to London on spring break. Staying in Kensington and wanted to check out Chelsea. Searched on Open Table and lucked out to choose this lovely spot. I had a wonderful (and random) assortment because it was what sounded good at the time - the tomato soup, cauliflower salad, and tuna tartar sushi. Hubby had a great steak and get this my kids ate steak - for free. The staff was lovely and the energy vibrant, young and happy. Loved it.
Maze Grill was a more casual setting than I would have guessed. But this did not translate into a casual approach to the food and service. Both were excellent. The menu is fairly simple and straight forward. We began the evening with a couple of drinks at the bar and then were seated by the maitre d'. We started with tuna sushi and soft shell crab sliders. I love sushi and this was one of the best preparations I have tasted in some time. The sliders were a simpler taste but went down a treat. The wine list was also quite straight forward but had a more than adequate representation from the major old and new world regions. The room is a basic 'L' shape and the decor rather American style. No table cloths and extravegance but rather excellent food accommanied by really attentive staff. They were both knowlegeable and welcoming. We shared a ribeye steak with mac-cheese, chips and salad as sides. Quite frankly we were stuffed but found that a short break made way for the sorbet and meringue - to share of course. After some armagnac we retired quite satisfied by this wonderful back street find. I will go back there.
We had the chateaubriand for two. It was very good. When the bill came, we noticed that they hadn't charged us for our drinks. The manager explained that our server was new and wrote off the drinks. We thought that was above and beyond. It was a very nice experience.
As always, the Maze Grill is able to deliver. The young, customer focused team turn out consistently great food which is well sourced and presented. The sushi is generally better than most dedicated sushi bars. Under-12's eat free and the Sunday roast is superb. Service and brisk and friendly. For London, the prices are not bad for an upmarket bistro / grill.
